thank you sir! I have the STIHL Fs 91 R. This really did help me out. I've been at it for an hour trying to find the right video and I found it. Back to work! Thanks man!
hi, just put the feeder head on my fs56. I kinda rebuilt the weedeater the last month, new head , kill switch, and really cleaned it as well, I clean it all the time after I use it, put took off the covers and engine then put it back together. I use anti seize to coat the threads again. when you take equipment apart its good to coat the threads. I have make other youtube videos as well on things I have built or done. Thanks for this video, it really helped me put the head together . I am sit in my BBQshed this Sunday morning. Thanks again. I now have 2 weekeaters to use around my house. the FS56 I have had for 7 years, I bought used but kept it up to use
Thank you for this video. It helped me understand how to Attack this. I have a red max trimmer and it literally took me 3 minutes to take my old head off and put the new one on. Without this video I probably would’ve been sitting around for a few hours. Thanks again
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed! You did everyone a huge favor! God bless you Sir! 🙏 I was struggling with the install on my KM131R and this video helped greatly!
How about no instructions! Thank you so much. I don't think I would have made it without your help. The only thing is the trim spool has a lip on the slot bar and the spool can go on both ways. I tried pausing your video to see which side was correct. The trimmer head seems to work okay, so maybe I got lucky. I have a FS 56. I wish there were more helpful video like yours on UA-cam.
Thank you Sir! I was trying to install the exact same thing on my Ryobi 2 cycle, expand it trimmer and I was failing. Watched your video and had it up and running in less than 10 minutes. BTW, for anybody trying to install one on the Ryobi, it takes the red adapter. And..... Oregon... if you're listening, how freaking hard would it be to throw in a piece (1) of paper with some basic instructions? The tip is, no matter what trimmer you're gonna install it on, you're gonna have to take it (the trimmer head) apart.
I've just bought one of these, what an absolute pain in the a** to install, I just assumed you'd unscrew the old head and then screw this on, I haven't even got any washers on my existing strimmer 🤬
Good video brother! But internally and externally its the exact clone of a echo speed 450 I have on my Stihl 🤷🏾♂️ Echo comes with the same color adaptors and the green fits the Stihl. So if u would have search the echo speed feed 450 install it would have saved u two hours. Also echo has the gap plate which is a non issue for my fs94R.
Would have taken me two hours as well - no instructions!!! Take note of the little ramp things that advance the line when you take the spool off - I think it matters which way it goes on - whether you have a rotation of clockwise vs counterclockwise rotation on your trimmer
The gap is bc of the shaft itself on the trimmer, the threaded part goes to far down and the threads stop before arbor (green piece) hits the baseplate. If the arbor was threaded deeper it’ll be better but unfortunately with the way the speed feed operates, it’s not possible.
Not so sure if I like this new trimmer head as grass gets stuck between the spacer and the head in tall grass! I had to stop the trimmer several times and work the grass from around the head.
The only time I’ve ever had that problem was when I’m trimming stuff that’s about 4 foot tall. Personally I think this head is 100x better than the head Stihl provides. I really think Stihl needs to upgrade there heads and give you something similar to this with no gap in between.
@@douglaslawncare2843 Strange. When I was at the STIHL dealer they didn’t have a sign stating, “home owner units.” Do you suppose someone who owns any kind of lawn care business may have ever bought a bent shaft style trimmer? I’ll bet they have. And I didn’t know that the Oregon or the Echo speed feed heads were only available for “commercial head” style trimmers. My comment was for ANYONE home or business that own a bent shaft STIHL trimmer like the FS 40 or STIHL equivalent.
Personally I’d never buy anything under the fs 91r for commercial use. That being said if you bought it from a dealer they should have told you. I’d try and return it to them.
@@douglaslawncare2843 Well, just because you wouldn’t buy a bent shaft trimmer doesn’t mean anyone else wouldn’t now does it? And I already did take it back and this isn’t the 1960’s when dealers gave a damn about whether or not you purchased something incorrectly. Nowadays all dealers want is your money.

Your welcome!
I have just bought a new speed feed head. This video will help me enormously when I fit it so many thanks for posting.
You’re welcome
Thanks brother. Was ready to return the unit until I saw this! Excellent work. Much appreciated.
You’re welcome! Glad it helped!
Thanks for making this video man. Didn’t try without it but definitely made the install straight forward. Took me under 10 minutes
That’s great to hear!
The included instructions are weak...Your Video ROCKS !!! we did it in about 15 minutes. Thank You...Great Video
You’re welcome!
I just went to Agri Supply and purchased this same speed feed. It is so much better than the Stihl and Husqvarna heads! S/o from NC.
So much better!

Great vid. Would've taken forever without this video. Stihl head is annoying, hoping this is a nice upgrade.
Just bought a couple more today.
I have the Shakespeare Max load .. works great no spacers needed & I don't have wasted line towards the end ..loads the same way as speed feed.
The only problem I have with that one is you cannot replace the bump head you have to buy the whole thing again
Thanks, you saved me an hour for sure!
Glad I could help!

Thanks for the video. It helped me with my FS55R.
youre forever my brother,... love you man

This video helped me out so much man, thank you sir!

Perfect instructions - Thanks for the video!

THANK YOU!! Dont understand why companies cant create instructions. ha ha

Thanks you for this Douglas...!!!! you are the man....

How long is the trimming line you precut to load? I have a slightly different Oregon head and their instructions are garbage and say nothing.
I use 4 full arm lengths of string.
@@douglaslawncare2843 thank you! looks like the one I have "Oregon 539138 Universal Tap and Go Head" by my experimentation takes a max. of 4m length.
Does the Oregon speed feed head have replacement caps without having to buy the whole thing

Thanks! You save my day!!!!!

Thanks. I'm gonna have to try that out.
will this head work on the husqvarna 525L weed eater
Amazing video
Thanks!
just bought one off amazon for my sf56 stihl
Nice! I just bought two more as well.
Just curious with a Stihl straight shaft, don't you suppose to be using the 24-250 gator speedload.
This is the head my Stihl dealer recommended.
Hello. Awesome video! Please can you tell me if this Oregon speed feed head will work with a Core Weed Eater model number CPL400? Thank you.
I’ve never even heard of a core weed eater 🤷🏻♂️
You saved me buddy

How much of line capacity 20 feed or 25
I’m not sure
Do you got buy the dice always or is there a way to put line it
I’m not sure what this means…
@@douglaslawncare2843 i mean do you got buy those things also or you can refill those things with line
You restring it.

you all should have watched the echo speed trimer vidios. been aroun for years and are identical to these

We have to have a beer together and BBQ
All that ain’t nothing but a echo ultra perm!
I love Stihl trimmers but I don't why they give you a speed feed head.
Yeah. This is probably my only real complaint.
@@douglaslawncare2843 When I buy my Stihl I will be upgrading to the speed feed head.
That’s what I do! They glide so much better on the ground than the Stihl head does.
Dang how many companies ripped-off Echo design
id rather have the clap.
🤣
Anyone with a STIHL FS 40 bent shaft, trimmer beware! This will not fit that trimmer. Don’t spend $40 trying to figure it out.
That’s a home owner unit and it won’t work for these types of commercial heads.
