I'm a new Morakniv owner. And I love the way these guys are manufactured, very high quality for the price point. My first was a robust pro, and second one was the companion. I like the companion so much I will be giving it away as Christmas presents because it is so versatile. You guys are doing a great job, but really need to make this video clip more available especially to new knife shoppers. Excellent video and keep up the great work!

I carry the Companion in the woods. I carry the red handle as a neck knife. It is basically a camp knife for preparing food. The Companion will do the work of $300 knives all day long. The key- use it, don't abuse it. If you have to chop, use an axe or a tomahawk. It you have to saw, use a Silky Saw. Simple. Common sense.

Have a Mora 2000. Battered like hell and still my favourite knife. Have a Ray Mears bushcraftknife. Very expensive. Prefer the Mora 2000. Not afraid if it breaks because of cheap price. BUT IT DOESN’T BREAK 😂

I have a bushcraft black. Very very abused. years of taunting the knife to see what it can handle. Still has some coating left, but not much! :)) Great knife! As my experience grow I understood that it is very important to know how to use the proper tool for the proper job!

I've seen the Mora Companion on the shoulder/chest of Ukraine soldiers(also Glock knife and other models).
The Mora's are in use everywhere.
      Carpenters, soldiers, bushcrafters etc.
Great value, excellent handle ergo's. Good heat treat.

I can't find anything better in it's class. I always have Mora MG carbon with me,flattened the spine for fire rod which I tapped to the sheath and works awesome..

Probably the Mora 2000 and Bushcraft Forest should have been in the Kansbol family. Actually, the 2000 was before the Kansbol. No mention of Companion HD which is about as capable as the Bushcraft. Yeah, the HD does not have a sharp spine, but that can be fixed in 5 minutes. Yeah, forgot about the Pathfinder and maybe the All Around series.

    Companion
    Companion heavy duty
    Eldris
    Kansbol
    Garberg Carbon
    Wood carving basic
Wood carving 120. This is my Mora line up, my intro into the world of knives and bush crafting. Like the camera company Olympus hooked me into photography, the same has happened with Mora. My only other two knives that aren’t mora is the Gerber Strongarm and the victorinox Swiss Army knife. I can’t praise mora enough.

Interestingly a German UA-camr tested the blade width of Garberg carbon and stainless. The carbon was the advertised 3.2mm but the stainless was 3mm. He was surprised. The stainless however was a gram heavier.

I’m a new Mora fan, I have the carving knife and just got the 511 carbon, I’m waiting on my Companion stainless, in the mail right now. My question is, between all the knives that are stainless is the metal the same? And the carbon, all the same metal? Or do the more expensive knives have a different make up of metal?

I think the question(s) should be 3.6” vs 4.1”; 2.0mm blade stock, 2.5mm, or 3.3mm; and finger guard or not. Bonus points for carbon steel vs stainless, I favor carbon for ease of resharpening for wilderness and stainless for corrosion resistance in farm or craft.
Although nothing can beat the ultra cheap 511 purchased regularly and stashed in every foreseeable bug out bag and location.

Back in the day they used to have a saying...."Fifty Dutchmen...fifty knives."

What does this saying mean or allude to?

    • @drmodestoesq
      @drmodestoesq Рік тому +2

@@davidgriffith6627 It was an English insult to the Dutch. If we look at one of the popular theories for the origin of the handshake, it was to show that you did not have a weapon in your hand. So by saying that all Dutchmen have a knife it was implying that they are treacherous and untrustworthy. You never know if you're going to be on the receiving end of a stabbing.
