    I have a Pathfinder and I LOVE IT. When I found out it was half tang I was hesitant, but after reading reviews from guys who said not only did it hold up great over a year or so, they hadn't needed to sharpen it. Great knife.

    The pathfinder from mora is such an under rated knife. I re-handled mine with a custom OD green micarta block. One of my favorite larger sized bushcrafting knives.

      What did the tang look like when you took the old handle off?

    • @pubplays368
      @pubplays368 Рік тому +3

      @@calculatedsurvival It went about 3 quarters of the way down the plastic handle and is slightly rat tailed. Has the typical contouring grooves you see in moras tangs for adhering to the molded plastic handles that they use.

    Mora knives are the best bang for the buck product there is. They are literally so good and so cheap that when I go camping or hiking or hunting or even just out in my bike or truck . I carry extras and just give them to newbies in the group or people who forgot something on the packing list I have probably given Away about 30 of the baseline models

  • @jellyfish1433
    @jellyfish1433 Рік тому +9

    Moras are definitely something everyone should look into if they are on a budget! Even if you aren’t on a budget and just want something you’ll be able to beat on without feeling bad they are great! May not be the best knives in the world, but I’ll always have one on the boat with me, and I keep on in my emergency bag in my car in case I ever need it.

    • @kruger7796
      @kruger7796 Рік тому +2

      They make some really good knives aswell. But the real benefit is to have a bunch of em everywhere. I remember them being everywhere growing up. Out in the shed, toolbox and in the basement just to name a few. At times you would grab one and knowingly sacrifice it to get something done. So I see where you're coming from.

    My only gripe with this knife is the sheath itself is the fabric base as opposed to a hard pack and for the record if anybody doesn't know any event you end up in a fight or flight situation you take a hit where that knife is that flex pack or mesh basically can and will cause your knife to bend the moment that happens the knife becomes pretty much useless a hard pack will break before it bends your knife and just so you know a hard pack can be fixed by a specific type of modeling glue that causes the plastic to reforge or more accurately bond

    The thing is that if you want a blade for chopping your gun I have to get a thick blade like a quarter inch and just carry that heavy blade for chopping with and have something else for fine slicing. If you want a knife that's works like a pry bar you going to have to suck it up and go for something thick and heavy. Everybody knows that the Mora knives are generally made for good slicing

The knife locks into the sheath just fine. But there's a little dangly leather strap about as wide as my pinky, riveted to the kydex tube that comprises the sheath body. And nothing else.

    it's be damn near perfect, I doubt you'll ever need it to chop timber, and if you did, in a survival situation, you're probably expending too much energy, and you're probably better off going home and bringing an axe in a situation where you can (which is most of them), and you probably can use it efficiently to split timber with a small enough area on the end grain that it you can hit the end of the blade with a blunt instrument.
