looks like both chiang khan and luang prabang have a few similarities as follows: 1) tranquility and serenity 2) morning almsgiving ceremony aka the tak bat 3) river confluence with the mekong such as the nam kham river merging with the mekong in luang prabang. 4) night market you can consider walking along the mekong river promenade overlooking the Vientiane skyline in the si chiang mai district in Nong Khai Province.
