Check out Da Lat...tons of stuff to do there like canyoning, the Maze bar, the Crazy House, clay village, Elephant Falls, Alpine coaster, coffee farms, etc. I think there's even things like Hobbit-like villages nearby. Phu Quoc also has a ton of stuff to do there from the waterpark to the safari to the prison and so on. Also, if you're unfamiliar with the food, do food tours in Hanoi like MomDuty, "This Food Bangz", and "Flora and Note" did in Hanoi or "Chase and Steph" did in HCMC/Saigon or "Steph and Pete" did in Hoi An. Many people eat the food wrong so don't get the real experience/flavor of Vietnam.

Hi Paddy. I just finished the series. Hands down my favorite video was Episode 20, The best of Hoi An. The last 5 minutes of thay video was magical. The recording of the live music playing over the people watching was top notch. 👌 And I am sure you will NEVER forget thay family who took care of you early on for a few days that fixed your flat tire. They were a great example of how people in this world should take care of each other.

Go to Hanoi, Ha Long Bay cruise, Ninh Binh and Sapa, that will require at least 9 to 10 days and then finish up in Danang for a beach holiday. You will need to go back for a second trip as 2 weeks is not long enough. If going to Danang book a cheap river cruise on a Saturday night at 8pm so you see the whole city and all the bridges lit up and watch the dragon on the bridge spitting out fire and water. We paid approx $10 each and that included water and fresh fruit.

Anyway , just so happens I've never ridden motorbikes when I was in Australia, never had a reason to but moving to Thailand I've gone out got my motorbike licence and bought a motorbike and love it. Now at the ripe old age of 58 I'm getting set to go off on my own adventures by motorbike around Thailand. Your videos are great , keep living mate and soak up every day. Cheers mate from a new sub. Always wonderful, Paddy. Thank you. I think you’ve created your own brand. This is supported by the professionalism you bring to your video posts and the standardization with which you’re organizing the presentation of your experiences. I’ll sound a little American for a moment (I apologize), but consider looking into a marketing company that assists entrepreneurs in branding their creativity and with protecting whatever can lawfully be protected. Why do this? Answer: Because out of 10,000 content creators two are creative and 9,998 are imitators…nothing wrong with imitators as ‘imitation is the best form of flattery’. Life is long and you want your work to reward you for as long as possible. Blessings and thank you 🙏🏼.

According to the replies I've received in this thread, the VND currency is the main currency to carry. However, the USD comes in handy in areas where there is heavy "international" tourist traffic -- certain restaurants, hotels, tours, major airports, etc. Thanks for the replies. Cheers! dcb.

at times, to shock the other members of the cabinet. One night Paine suggested that
I prepare a lecture entitled "The Age of Reason," and deliver it from the pulpit of a church
that I formerly attended. Many around the table laughed heartily at the suggestion. Not
Napoleon! He drew his mouth down at the corners and groaned so loudly that all turned
and looked at him with amazement. To him the church was but a pawn of the State, not to
be reformed but to be used as a convenient inciter to mass activity by the people.
On one occasion Burbank was late. When he came, he was excited with enthusiasm, and
explained that he had been late because of an experiment he was making through which he
hoped to be able to grow apples on any sort of tree. Paine chided him by reminding him that
it was an apple that started all the trouble between man and woman. Darwin chuckled
heartily as he suggested that Burbank should watch out for little serpents when he went into
the forest to gather apples, as they had the habit of growing into big snakes. Emerson ob-
served, "No serpents, no apples," and Napoleon remarked, "No apples, no state!"
Lincoln developed the habit of always being the last one to leave the table after each
meeting. On one occasion, he leaned across the end of the table, his arms folded, and re-
mained in that position for many minutes. I made no attempt to disturb him. Finally, he
lifted his head slowly, got up, and walked to the door. Then he turned around, came back,
laid his hand on my shoulder and said, "My boy, you will need much courage if you remain
steadfast in carrying out your purpose in life. But remember, when difficulties overtake you,
the common people have common sense. Adversity will develop it."
One evening Edison arrived ahead of all the others. He walked over and seated himself at
my left, where Emerson was accustomed to sit, and said, "You are destined to witness the
discovery of the secret of life. When the time comes, you will observe that life consists of
great swarms of energy, or entities, each as intelligent as human beings think themselves to
be. These units of life group together like hives of bees, and remain together until they dis-
integrate, through lack of harmony. These units have differences of opinion, the same as hu-
man beings, and often fight among themselves. These meetings which you are conducting
will be very helpful to you. They will bring to your rescue some of the same units of life
that served the members of your cabinet, during their lives. These units are eternal. THEY
NEVER DIE! Your own thoughts and desires serve as the magnet that attracts units of life,
from the great ocean of life out there. Only the friendly units are attracted--the ones that
harmonize with the nature of your desires."
The other members of the cabinet began to enter the room. Edison got up and slowly
walked around to his own seat. Edison was still living when this happened. It impressed me

This is fantastic because Vietnam is on my bucket list to travel. Having seen your awesome Thailand vlogs and myself reminiscing my 4 times being in some of the places Thailand, I am wondering whether you will explore Malaysia or Indonesia - both incredible countries.

Tip for crossing street in Vietnam:
Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . Don’t worry about it! The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! motor-bykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not runs and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid of and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- traffic in Vietnam.

Nice recap! Excellent adventures! Question: When I was in Hanoi, the US Dollar was the preferred currency with the VN Dong being handy for small change. Is this the norm all around the country? Just wondering. Thank you for another entertaining video. Five stars!!!!! dcb

    • @ausbare140
      @ausbare140 2 роки тому +5

This is not true and in some smaller places the US Dollar will not be excepted only VND.
I had a experience with a older US traveler who had gone on a bus tour but on had US Dollars, we where the only two westerners on the tour. I did change some of his US Dollars for him but you may not be so lucky.
It is a good idea to always have VND with you.

      @steveth1000 2 роки тому +1

Not true, only the Dong is accepted as payment. This is true in Cambodia though, US dollar with the rial for small change. Some apartment building landlords will accept the bond and rent in US dollars in Vietnam.

@@ausbare140 I was only in Hanoi and thereabouts for a few days where I had to carry both forms of currency. The US dollar was the preferred currency with the VD dong being the currency for small change. Maybe that's only the norm for visitors. Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. I'm Canadian btw. Our money looks like play-money to a lot of folks so that's a no-go. Cheers! dcb

@@steveth1000 Thank you, Steve. Note that I asked this question based only on my three-day experience in Hanoi. I looked into this a little further. So, now I am properly informed that the VND rules. The US dollar, however, comes in handy for areas where there is heavy foreign-tourist traffic -- touristy restaurants, hotels, tours, major airports, etc. Yes, I did experience that in Siem Reap, Cambodia as well. Kind regards . . . Dave from Toronto, Canada / Prawet, Thailand.
