Clint Strong sure is something special on lead guitar. So is Merle. Now his son Noah is playing with Pops, & I'm sure Noah sat and played guitar with Clint a bit in days gone by. These guys are American Treasures!
Is there a better country musician than Merle Haggard?? Guitar, fiddle...and that baritone voice. Like honey sliding down into a 20 year bourbon. Very few, I'd bet. Glen Campbell comes to mind.
Nope, no one comes even close. You could exclude his best hundred songs from the competition and he would still win hands down. I've been into him for a couple of years but still discover brilliant songs I'd never heard before.
