Your videos helped me alot when I was building my first pc about 6 months ago . Anyways Im not sure who designed that stupid ass hx tank, and the million zipties holding the tubing on wow. What you need is a Cordes performance hx tank which mounts behind the front bumper and holds about 2 gallons of water. The fill reservior you have now is total garbage and its an eye sore. Its a pretty involved install but not to hard and its worth it!

    Hey Jay - when I had a C5 Corvette the best tool in my garage was a QuickJack. It costs more than a jack and some stands, but man it is fantastic for doing anything from brakes to oil changes to tire rotations to exhaust work. Give it a shot, maybe they will sponsor you if you make a video about it? I loved mine, it was absolutely great.

    Quick tip! I always keep a few dollar store foil chafing trays in the garage. They make great drain pans. Especially good if you want to reuse coolant or something. At $1 you can use a brand new one every time so you're not contaminating the fluid.

    With the big gulb reservoir in, you very well may have been OVER pressurizing the system, and when there is too much pressure, it generally slows down flow and will cause higher temps. Just a random thought I had when hearing about your temps getting so high.

    • @Jayztwocents
      @Jayztwocents 4 роки тому

      The Big Gulp (not gulb...) is an air intake. Has nothing to do with the water system. We know why the problem was happening. This video wasnt about having people give advice when they have very little knowledge of all the details of my setup. Its about entertainment.

      @@Jayztwocents I apologize, I meant the bigger tank. Have seen similar things happen to smaller cars that double the capacity of their radiators and increase the diameter hoses, which caused the factory water pumps not to pump as hard through the system. I get that your pump is independent, but wonder if maybe the capacity of the extra tank may have hindered how much fluid could be circulated.

      @@teddygoboom1 As I said before, given hes already using alcohol as a fuel the benefits of water/meth injection are largely negated. It may bring down IATs but it would just be something to check and fill constantly for no power benefit since his fuel system is up to the task already. He would have to be running boost to the point his current fuel system was insufficient for there to be any point. Also, you're wrong about the ecu pulling timing, so you're clearly not familiar enough with running alcohol as a fuel in place of gasoline. Different fuels knock/detonate at different frequencies, so unless a knock sensor is calibrated for e85 spark knock, the engine would be trashed before the ecu ever knew there was anything happening. The only way it could pull timing to save its self is if it had a trigger set to retard the timing when the fluid level runs low. That's assuming that the ECU can take in a triggered input to do tune map manipulation and I dont believe the stock GM ecu can.
