Abit late but totally agree, i don't know why i haven't checked out jays car channel until now since im just as much into cars as pcs, but I've been into cars and worked on them alot more so jay and would be my padawan xD

Honestly I don't consider a car project done unless I smash one of my fingers, bruise somewhere and end up bleeding. I have the Holley EFI on my '71 Corvette 454. Yes Jay, you definitely want the EFI rather than a carb. I ran a carb for years and the EFI is much better.
Yep...Just ask Eric The Car Guy...he screamed CARB for weeks/months...ended with EFI. I still think part of it has to do with the fact that they really don't make them like they used to. :(
For me I plan to go EFI after I learn Carb. I thinks it's a dying world that has some benefits. The biggest issue people having is not understanding carbs.
I get what you're saying... but as some one that has likely owned more carbs than most people have owned cars... I genuinely prefer carbs on my hobby cars. Simple, easy, fun to play with, and again... I have EFI... I have carbs... but if I had to give up one... it isn't going to be my carbs.
@@Lethalgarage What do you feel are the benefits to carbs other then them being cheap? I am really interested. Maybe you could make a video on this if you havent already. From my perspective fuel injection is just better: its more reliable, more efficient, provides better throttle response, adjusts on the fly for altitude changes, it doesnt fall out of adjustment and need to be played with from time to time and I think its fair to say that there is a greater power potential with fuel injection. Personally it seems to me like the only benefits to carbs are the old timey feel and they give you something to tinker with on your car from time to time.
So when Jay hit his head with hammer, at the same time i was drinking coffee. So you can guess what happened.

While I am no expert on car assembly and car mechanics I am glad I subscribed to this channel solely for its entertainment value. I dont think I have laughed this hard in a while at a video I watched in a long time.
Holley EFI is definitely the way to go with them having learning capabilities
When he said he wanna do a LS7 carburated I thought why downgrade such a great engine?
You can still get EFI units that look like carbs also.

I had a 68 RS Camero, many trucks, 280 ZX, and my current project is a 94' Jeep wrangler. SO yea I know about crap the previous owners can screw up and what it takes to get things "Right" or as damn close as you can! This video was great Sir!

Run the Holley EFI. It is just such a great system and it allows you so much control over how lthe car performs. plus tuning on it just becomes so much easier with it.

I'm a Mustang guy but kick ass Camaro. Friend of mine is building a 70 fastback Camaro with aluminum head 427. He's still doing body but it runs and it's a Monster.

Definitely go with EFI, especially if you want it to work in all conditions, altitudes and temperatures.
I'm running Holley sniper tbi efi and I love it. I recently installed a vortech v3 si supercharger. It's their entry level carbureted kit for sbc. Tuning the fuel and timing is super easy with Holley efi. You wont be disappointed! I'm currently running 8psi of boost at 5500rpms, or 155kpa for you efi guys. If you plan to make bigger power, get the super sniper. The standard 650hp sniper isn't quite enough for boost. I'm at 394lbs/hr of fuel with 4 100lb/hr injectors.

I love all the memes in this videos. Plus the Harbor Freight jack (which I have an identical one) is awesome. Huge fan of the video editing work along with old school cars like this. Great dichotomy with the tech channel. Cant wait for more content.
@JayzTwoCars Maybe look at an intake like the Holley 300-269. It would allow you to run a carb style throttle body so you can put an old school air cleaner on it but still run port injection so you keep the full tuning/efficiency benefits of EFI.

Love the car stuff. Wish I knew more about cars so maybe I'll pick up a thing or two from the channel. On today's episode we learned how to hurt yourself while dealing a badly repaired car. Always enjoyed 'Jayz' two channels (no pun intended) as a person who loves cars and tech but this video has literally made me laugh for the first time in so long. Had a lot going on with relatives being diagnosed with horrible illnesses to coronavirus pressures (which I know so many have) that all I can say is "thank you" for giving me 23 minutes of continuous laughs. I even got back into upgrading PCs after watching your videos - thanks very much!!!
This is reminding me of working on my old charger, me and a friend rebuilt the top end in my college parking lot (neither of us finished school).
But by far the worst was helping a buddy put a M21 (4 speed) into is 67 Nova, during a cold NJ winter......
not to be that guy, but this is exactly how thing goes when you DIY at home. I love it - too bad I didn't make any videos of me 20 years back doing this. But let's face it, I didnt (and don't) have any friend to do the cam anyway.
