Best demo vid. Not only showed the beautiful sounds possible with your great harp playing, but explained how to use all the controls in depth. The pedal companies should hire you to make demo/explainer videos like this for their more complex devices this was so useful
WOW…now that’s not what I was expecting at all…! I’m on old stomp box guy from way back in the 70’s, but this pedal is making me lose my mind, and the very very cool HARP playing, with the synth, alone with the pedal as well….KUDOS to this young lady…! What a great video, and now I need to check into this very cool MXR pedal and see if I’m smart enough to figure it out so I can sit around playing with the thing…..!
Cute pedal, thanks for showing it! It's a brilliant idea, and I love the effects it can produce. Dynamic and fluid. Oddly supple and subtle. This gone straight onto my shopping list.
Sometimes I wonder how those beautiful pedals would sound on guitar 😅 But your sense of music, those beautiful melody and your ability to compose good stuff is very attractive. Also your very cute and funny 🫣
Wow. This hits on a whole side of my playing style that I’ve struggled to reach with other pedals. Freeze pedals historically don’t work for me. I may have to get one!
First thought : "ooookeyyy now "mainstream" pedals ???" aaaaaaaand... "OK WOW. Cool. Fits your kind of pedals and suits your playing style, for sure !!"
4:50 oh thank goodness! I thought "TRIG" stood for trigonometry and I was worried I'd have to convert from degrees to radians before I used this pedal.
Secondary functions aren't annoying, just companies don't put a label on the enclosure to say what each knob does. It's stupid that it's still happening. That is what is annoying. Boss in particular has always been great at providing as much as they can about the functionality of the pedal, on the pedal and a Boss PS3 is just as pretty as a DS1.
I’ve been watching a lot of videos to determine what the Layers pedal does and if it’s worth the $. This by far is the most informative and convinced me to go out and buy one (it’s at a good discount now for Black Cyber whatever day). I would urge you to get a couple 1/4 inch Y Cable 3ft, 1/4 TRS Stereo to Dual 1/4 TS Insert Cables. I’m coming out of my Strymon Iridium stereo outs to stereo input Layers then out in stereo to 2 channels of my DAW interface. Also, this is incredibly beautiful music you are making on this video Harp Lady. Where’s a link to your album?
wow a real video, babbling fools have been trying to just play it and not explain it really, just useless babble, thank you for taking the time to really show it and give an actual demonstration
Isn't this just a smaller Infinite Jets with less modes? I wish it was stereo honestly, I'd probably go for it because I've been eyeing an Infinite Jets for this mode in particular. EDIT: SNAP it is in stereo, just TRS jacks! Awesome!
I didn't think a pedal company would drop an ambient dual delay and a new stereo take on a freeze pedal in the same year, let alone (respectfully) that it would be MXR. hold I'm sorry and it's a delay and a chorus??? Hello?!!!! It comes in pints? I'm getting one.
Tell me the disrespect them etc. but literally I can do all of this with the petals I already have that are river pedals Ambien petals and they have a hold patterns or they expand by an active or below it’s the same thing I don’t get it why this is some new concept
Live it MXR stepping out of their bounds and doing some with a multi effect PEDALS, Great demo You two Always pushing with Both feet and Both hands 😁, ❤ Emm , and Russ and of course ( MXR ) 🙀👍🫂🎸🤠
We have a new requirement for Russ. For foot pedals you must use your feet. I have a list of training videos here on UA-cam that you can use to develop almost prehensile toe capabilities. Just a short video update every Wednesday at the same time as Em.
I feel like most of these "wow" effects can be reproduced by other means... I don't use a "freeze" effect because I just add one or more tracks. Maybe for live concerts ? Maybe... But I doubt that everybody will hear all the subtleties of the effect. Most people will just think it's some kind of reverb. And that's the people who know what a reverb is !
Sounds nice, and good demo. But I have to remind those wondering how it would sound on guitar that harp is mainly *open* strings, and guitar is mostly *fretted* strings. That doesn't mean it is somehow incompatible with guitar, but it's a bit like the difference between "highway" and "city" mileage. Delays, reverbs, and "freeze" effects will behave differently when playing mostly open strings. Not "bad" or "good", just different.
how would they behave differently? the pedal doesn't know if a string is open or fretted. fretted strings & open strings do sound a little different in how they sustain and their timbre but not to the point where the pedal is going to react much differently. can you explain?
Not at all what I expected from MXR but this is incredible.

This is the coolest thing MXR has ever made
The inside looks a lot like my mxr line booster
big agree
or they’re typically underaged much the time.
I keep imagining vocals going into this for some fabulously wacky harmonies.
that would be SO cool
This is the best explanation of this pedal on the internet. This actually makes sense. Great video!
this might be the most intrigued ive been with a pedal in a long time. just like oh i didnt know i wanted this, but now i need it.

Wow. So nice to see a pedal featured on yoir channel that is within the impoverished hobbyist's budget. Sounds lovely and is even stereo!
Thank you! Your channel offers a unique perspective on the effects market, going beyond most conventional guitar and keyboard-oriented channels.
Your so right
I didn't expect MXR to start making weirdo ambient pedals, especially ones this cool.
The playing makes these pedals sound so good!
Cute pedal, thanks for showing it! It's a brilliant idea, and I love the effects it can produce. Dynamic and fluid. Oddly supple and subtle. This gone straight onto my shopping list.
I'm not usually a fan of MXR pedals, but this is amazing! I hope they eventually make a deluxe version, with a bigger box and an effects loop ;-)
All the music in this video is incredible. Thank you
You are an excellent pedal demonstrator😊
epic
epic
You always give the best instructional demonstrations. This pedal is really a game changer. ( I don’t like “game changer” but true in this pedal )
Great playing and demo of this pedal - helped me decide to purchase - Thank's HARP LADY!!!
Appreciate your videos, nice production. Love how you show other instruments, not just guitars. Also how to use the pedal.
innovative harp pedal with an abundance of uses. interesting to see an offering like this from MXR
Wow, yeah! They should make a pedal like this for guitar too!
Amazing music. Thanks to you video I got mine. Straight to the point.
Wow emily, this pedal is actually really fitting for your harp outputs setup. Awsome review, awsome pedal.

What an interesting and unique pedal! Great demo, Emily!
You made it sound completely wonderful. Awesome!

listened to this while playing Stardew and that was a great choice
When you turned it on for the drum machine it instantly became a dub beat 🤘🏽😆.
Every time I hear dub I atomatly think dead pool
sounded like Autechre
8:02 Emma this has great Terminator vibes, love it
Beautiful work harp lady!
4:50 oh thank goodness! I thought "TRIG" stood for trigonometry and I was worried I'd have to convert from degrees to radians before I used this pedal.
i got ptsd from reading this
Really useful as an early effect, with phasing, multi-mode filter, and a ping-pong delay at 3/16, etc.
sounds amazing
Emily's playing this whole video was 🤌
I really dig this one, kind of a surprise, which is fun. 😊
Robert Fripp would probably like this pedal! 😃
Love this demo! What is the synth that you are using at the beginning of the video?
Secondary functions aren't annoying, just companies don't put a label on the enclosure to say what each knob does.

5:03 IDK why... But that Pinch harmonic was Awesome!
Great demo! Might finally be time to swap out my superego+
I love the stereo tip. Can you use tip-ring-sleeve patch cords to do a stereo-in, stereo-out connection? Subscriber here. You are awesome !!
Thanks so much! Yes you can do that -- I believe its the only way to!

At 7:50 ...whoa...cyber punk cinematic right there...
First pedal in a long time that I've said "Okay, I want one."
Me too new pedals that is
Nice harp jams!
It's cool for the small footprint, but it seems like only a slightly less expensive but considerably less capable version of the Superego Plus...
Always wished my bass had a sustain pedal.
I never noticed all th pedals or levers on the harp next to the plugs. What do they do?
I would never remember all the secondary controls. Someone hold my two buttons for five seconds to reset me
Fun fact: MXR was the first brand to color code pedals.
Glorious!
MXR has been making some pretty phenomenal stuff for a minute, y'all been sleeping on them. XD
G0t5 3gg! ❤ she’s back
Reminds me of Infinite Jets
Mxr and Emily 😮 whats next boss I hope so sounds good btw
soooo off topic but i wish the mxr joshua was stereo-in like this, and their reverb….and their tremolo….
wow a real video, babbling fools have been trying to just play it and not explain it really, just useless babble, thank you for taking the time to really show it and give an actual demonstration
its like particle verb
is there some benefit to how this pedal outputs stereo? Seems like it would've been easier for everyone to just add stereo ins and outs to the pedal.
How does this compare to the TC Infinite Sustainer?
That's like comparing a klon to a snare drum
using the pedal on a drum machine sounds like 2013 autechre
The trig off and only on footswitch intrgues me
Isn't this just a smaller Infinite Jets with less modes? I wish it was stereo honestly, I'd probably go for it because I've been eyeing an Infinite Jets for this mode in particular.

does it have an expression jack? can it control the mix?
'Stacked Ambience?'

Excellent Harp Lady!
bel video!
EHX superego?
It’s the same idea but kind of like stacking 3 of ‘em!

Lose the nose ringy and get the layers.
TC Infinite has been around like two years. I don’t see this being better. And it’s probably twice the price.
Thanks Pedal Mommy! 🥺

I think they have videos on a website called UA-cam were people play them with guitar you should check it out if you want to know the difference
