- She's About A Mover performed by The Sir Douglas Quintet.
Note: If you can't hear what the man was asking Bob Dylan at the very beginning of this video, he was asking him this question:
"Are there any young folk singers or rock groups that you would recommend for us to hear?"
A real rock classic - well done !
Thanks Paul!
"She's a body mover" was the original title and lyrics but they changed it because it didn't sound appropriate for that era
Wow! Interesting! I didn’t know that!
What an incredibly beautiful song ❤❤❤
How wasnt it appropriate?, id think in the 60's it would of been ok.
I remember this song well back in 1966. 14 years old. Didn't really understand the title until you explained that here. 58 years later I learned something knew. Thanks for that item. I didn't expect the politically correct crowd to be active back then. PC is just another term for what it really is, Cultural Marxism. I looked it up PC years ago and read of its history. We have to beware of the Word and Thought Police all the time.
Was she a grave robber 😂
Maybe it’s about time to resurrect Go-Go girl dancers!😀
Maybe so! 😃🤔
They never go out of style💖
I SAW THIS ON TV ABOUT 10 OR 12 YRS.OLD 1965-66.
Wow!
The since passed one-of-a-kind morning radio shock jock personality Don Imus used to absolutly love this song. rip Don Imus of Imus In The Morning
Great I always wondered if he was probably a fan of Sir Douglas particularly Doug Sahm after I found out more about him. I know Don Imus used to play Uncle Tupelo's version of, "Give Back The Key To My Heart" that was originally performed by Doug Sahm and another alternate version of the Sir Douglas Quartet. If I remember correctly Don Imus brother Fred Imus was a fan of the Uncle Tupelo version that does actually have Doug Sahm singing in that version as well.
Thank you for taking the time to create such a wonderfully creative video to enhance this very under-rated '60s classic. Only wish this song was a little longer!
Thank you David! And I wonder what it would've been like if this song was a little longer.
@@BrandonBarres51299 It sounded like it might've been shortened for tv time constraints.
Well @@oldiesgeek454 , that was how it was recorded and released I guess. Still a great song though.
@@BrandonBarres51299 I understand, great song is right! 😊
@@oldiesgeek454 - Most songs were barely over 2 minutes back “in the day”, sadly.

Clifford Scott who played the Sax for Bill Dogget in the song " Honky Tonk" too, was from San Antonio Texas. Both he and Doug already passed away. R.I.P to two great musicians.
Morphed into the Texas Tornadoes.
@@gnosticsabaton4975 I had the 45 of Honky Tonk..by Bill Doggett. Didn't know that guy was from. SA.
Evertime I shake a container of something that sounds like maracas, I have to sing this song

Jordan brothers from Pennsylvania did this song first same record company as Spencer Davis he heard it and took national
@@davidsmiley6552 are you sure you’re not getting confused with a different song?
@BrandonBarres51299 new the band talked to Spencer years ago at Hershey park said it was true they did it only regional he took national don't have a copy though heard them singing it once I think you could find more information at Frackville pa historical I was there when induction local band does good 👍
Not too Shabby, I will add this to my collection !!
Thanks! Don't forget to see the other five custom music videos i made. Hopefully you'll see more of them in the future.
Doug Sahm from Texas 1965
That's right.
Ahh, when you say you are very busy now I know what you are busy with, fantastic, you put a lot of work into that and it shows, your transitions are smooth and the content you selected is perfect, takes a lot of patience and skill to put something like that together, great job! Not sure how you found the exact moment that Dylan mentions the band at a press conference but that was pretty impressive.
william cohan Great he is just like you !
Thank you! And as for finding the Bob Dylan part, well lets just say a lot of researching comes with some surprising results, and sparks ideas in my head. Finding that exact moment was alittle complicated, but I found it.
Awesome job Brandon!
Thanks Tom!
* Lyric misheard as She's A Body Mover! ☺
LOL! 😁😁
Beste zeit überhaupt😊
They don't make frontmen like Doug Sahm anymore. He broke the mold.
What do you mean by "broke the mold"?
He's an original. No one will ever duplicate his work.
Oh. Well, you're right about that @@monkmchorning!
Ha ha Ha 😂
Cool 60s stuff on your channel!

I don’t think so.

Yes, they were Texans!

Bob Dylan wrote that song 4 them, in case u didn't know!!
No he didn’t. The lead singer of The Sir Douglas Quintet Dough Sahm wrote it.
Dylan never wrote that song. Doug did. How misinformed can you be?
Doug S rocks _so_ hard. Saw them live at Barton Coliseum in LR 'bout 1966.
