I started golfing last year at 35 years old, I bought the Fmax one length as my very first set ever. The idea of only learning one swing really appealed to me and it still does. I’m planning on getting properly fitted for the ForgeTech in the near future. Cheers from Raleigh, North Carolina!

This years Cobra Forged TEC are flat out gorgeous. No gimmicky design flourishes, just a purpose-built tool and a clean design. I love it.

Dear Mark, I was an aspiring junior reaching single handicap at 12 and was at 4 by the time I was 14. It was like set in stone that I would one day work in golf. Then it just stopped for me, I struggled in tournaments and stopped to reach the goals my pro set for me. He blamed it on me, that I didn't practice enough although I spent so many nights at the chipping and pitching area and biking home way past dark. I grew hatred to the game and although I never started playing any other sports I just couldn't get anywhere, especially mentally. Now I'm 32 and I'm still struggling to pick up a golf club without getting bad feelings. Still, every year or two I watch a couple of your videos and I get really excited about playing again, all the good memories return. But usually just 1-2 hours at the range or 9 holes completely drains me and my thoughts always circle around what could have been had I only been better. I wish I could somehow return to the game and feel excited about playing and accepting that I might never play at the level I did back then - but still go out and enjoy hitting the ball without taking it so seriously. Do you have any experience of this or any suggestions for how I could find my love for the game again? Best regards /Hans, Sweden

In England you can receive CBT for free on our national health system which can basically help rewire your mind to think more positively about playing golf. Anything like that in Sweden? I'm guessing you've tried a lot of simpler things to try to help (playing with 5 clubs, playing pitch and putt, joining a society etc.)? I'm sure 9 holes with the muppets would put a smile on anyone's face...what about it MC?

I have the F8 one length iron set, I love them. I am a 14 handicap. I am 56 years old. I love the consistency, distance and feel. Cobra has won me over. I am not going to be a professional. I do not play the tips, I play men's tees, and I have fun playing weekly with my friends. I like the fact that I CAN use a 4 and 5 iron and actually hit them, with Cobra one lengths. New irons have gotten so long, that I had to replace the longer irons with hybrids. I like the fact with Cobra, I can use a full set of irons and hit my distances. They work for me. Thanks Mark for all your videos, I appreciate and respect your insight!

Love your guys reviews on one length! Have no bias against them (which so many others do). I game one length F8s. Absolutely love them hands down best clubs I’ve ever played. As for the top end, I game up to a 5i (22.5*) and then use a 3hybrid (19*) as a substitute for a 4 iron. Ends up tapping the clubs perfectly then that way I’ve found.

Got the one length F-Max. Love them. Great for me with the confidence of the long irons. U are right they bleed into each other with my 5 iron and my 4 hybrid (f8 one length). Love the short game, I do grip down for the feely shots, but otherwise I try to keep it all the same.
Loving the videos. Keep them coming

I’ve been playing the F8 one length for two seasons now. My only gripe is the chunky ness of the sole and a tad bit heavy. I love the concept of not worrying about ball position. Since I only play maybe once a week and don’t have time to practice, it just keep things simple. I’ve gone from a 10hcp to an 8hcp without having to practice. It works for me.

I've been playing the Tom Wishon sterling single length irons for 3 years. Absolutely love them. Not a fan of the cobra line. The whole point of single length is same swing, setup, ball position, etc. The cobra have the same length but different weight shafts and different lie angles so the clubs don't feel or look the same.

I've been using the King F7 one length irons (5-GW) for about two years. Really improved my greens in regulation numbers, now averaging 13-14 per round, which has helped me reduce my handicap from 7 to 3. I'd like to try the new Forged TEC one length y to see what improvements Cobra have made.

Great review per usual! I've gamed the Cobra King Forged One length for a year now and I don't see myself going back to variable length anytime soon. One of the best things about one length clubs is that it cuts my practice time in half. I can work on shot shapes and accuracy bucket after bucket without losing sleep that I didn't hit every club above my 6 iron during my practice session. Another plus for me is that I like the simplicity of the setup throughout the set. This translates seamlessly onto the course and helps me by having one less thing to think about before I hit my shot. And the last thing I should mention is that the clubs are stunning! Great quality through and through. I'm so glad I tried the one length because prior to doing so, I had never tried a Cobra product. Now they are the first company I look at when I am in the market for a new club. Their quality and price really can't be beat.

Ive played a set when i accidentally brought my sons bag. The set consists of 4 uron through gap wedge. They are easy to hit no adjustment for ball placement and stance width. I use a single plane swing which makes it more natural. Distances are almost the same as my variable length i500s but the ball flight is lower in the longer irons and higher on the shorter irons.

  • @Mic_melody

I love one length because I get more value out of my range sessions. I have one length from 4hybrid down to my lob wedge and it’s honestly the same exact same setup and swing for those 10 clubs. As a result I’ve been able to focus on my driver and 3-wood even more, now I’ don’t have a weak club in the bag. my woods are longer and more accurate than ever, and I’ve been able to drop 7 strokes off my game in a span of 5 months. The concept is simple yet so effective, why more people don’t get into one length is beyond me.

Hi Mark- I’ve been using Cobra F9’s since February and my handicap has dropped from a 23 to 16.5 over the summer. I had a tough time with my short game initially (as a number of people have expressed in the comments) so now my 4 iron thru PW are One Length and my Gap, 56 degree and SW are standard progressive length. The F9’s are great and much longer than my old clubs - 7 iron has gone from 150 to 165 yards which was a nice surprise. To complete the package I ordered new driver and 3 wood combo that are 1 inch short which has really helped me keep it in the fairway.

Great video! This covers all aspects of these clubs, from looks, to feel, and performance! My current set of clubs are the Cobra Forged Tec from 2018, standard variable length with the Recoil 660 graphite shaft. My handicap is normally around 6-9, and once in a while it drops to 4-5, so I can hit the ball fairly well. I love the feel of my current clubs, but do struggle at times with my distance irons.

in response to your comment about not meeting anyone who "needs" one-length : I'm 6'6" with back issues - had one disc surgery and have some other issues. Cobra made me a set of graphite one length irons and wedges at plus 2 inches. This makes the short clubs what would seem ridiculously long to most people but has greatly reduced the amount of back pain I have after playing. I only play irons up to the 7 - and I love them. Having said that I tried the one length hybrids and really disliked them for basically the same reason - I want to be able to stand as straight up as possible. After a demo day a few weeks ago (before the Coronavirus killed events) I went to Taylormade Sim Max Hybrids at + 3/4 inch. They blended nicely into my Cobra irons and woods. Thanks for your reviews.

I bought Cobra F-Max one length just on a whim and have shot some of my best rounds with them (I also play Ping G25's}. You have to practice with them as the least and most lofted clubs just feel odd at first. And you have to trust the tech. Note the F-Max lie angles are all the same (Speed Zone aren't) and I was standing farther from the ball with the five iron at first when I shouldn't have. Gotta remember one setup for all. New to golf, started playing about 1.5 years ago, purchased a set of regular clubs (game improvement type) about 6 months later switched to One Length, Cobra F9. Yes I had to get a bit used to the long 8i, 9i & wedges, but the confidence I felt hitting 4i & 5i was well worth it. Now that I've been using the OL for almost 1 year I'm absolutely convinced it was the right choice for me, it truly is exactly the same swing for all clubs. i do sometimes 'choke-up' on the SW & my 60, but I don't find that difficult at all. Yes the flight is lower on the 4i & 5i (comparing to traditional clubs), and the flight on the wedges is very high, but I don't see how this has a negative impact, since the yardage and gapping works very well for me. Like 99% of us, golf is our hobby, we will never make money playing this great game, so if the gaping is 8yds vs. 10 yds from traditional clubs this will certainly not affect my overall satisfaction of playing the game. I would not recommend one length to an experienced low handicap golfer, no reason to re-learn, but I would most certainly recommend all new golfers to at least try them. cheers!!

I used Cobra one length irons, PW to 7 iron, there was a difference in distance, but 6 to 4 hybrid, all pretty much the same distance plus a flat flight!. I think that these irons/ hybrids need individual club customisations, to get the best from these!. Keep going Cobra!.

One length went in the bag as of last week. A change from 695MB's. There is an adjustment period going on for sure, but I feel like my strike is on the improve. I'm naturally a low ball flight so it kind of seems pretty similar in the 4 and 5 irons. Gapping possibly a little tight. Happy to get some extra height with the shorter irons as my course is a links style. Spin seems to be on par with what you show on the video. I've seen my 7 iron spin off the front of a green to a tight pin. Just adjustment time. Happy with the decision overall to go the way I've gone.

Lol why did you say that!!! Made my decision harder. I had these 2020 tecs in variable and I got some Wishons single length and I love them but I want these 2020 forged tecs in one length for feel and sound. But I love my clicky wishons, when you ring that bell it reminds u lol ring the alarm 🚨

I started with the Cobra F7 one length irons when they first came out. I will never go back to variable length ever again. Yes, at first it was strange to see a PW with the extra length but the moment you tell your mind to swing every club like a 7 iron the clubs will do amazing things. The repeatability of these clubs is what I love the most. I can take one club to the range and practice the hell out of the club and know that if I swing the same way the rest will take care of itself. I know golf is very personable but to me variable length clubs is just make absolutely no sense.

I'm using one iron Blackstones and at 1st I didn't lie them but now I love them. 1 thing I don't like is how they use degrees as their club instead of traditional numbers. But every club is the exact same weight and length

I have been playing with one length irons for almost a year now, F8s and won my first 2 gold leadfs with them, i play off 8 and bought 4 to gap but only use 4 to PW, plus 3 other wedges. Also bought the utility 3 iron which is adjustable and I love it. Did take a while to get used to the look in the longer irons and wedge but once you see the numbers it helps you to trust, Not for everyone

I bought a second hand set of Cobra F7 one length irons. Liked them a lot. I sold them and bought the F9 one length. I am getting pretty good with them now. They seem like about 1/2 a club longer than the F7. I have tried some graphite shafted SL irons from Milford golf in Oz. Very similar to F7 Cobra at 50% the price. If you don't have a high swing speed, go 5-GW and a SL hybrid instead of the 4 iron.

Hi Mark, Thanks for the review. I have been watching for some time and always notice how Dan's wrist is so "cupped" at the top. It also looks like he flips at impact but I also see that he makes the adjustments from the top until impact. How on earth does he do it??

Really enjoyed the review. I haven’t tried one length, but I have used arccos this year. I agree with your comment that golfers are nervous about the accuracy of the numbers. However, my main issue is that arccos seems to miss a few shots, and correcting this afterwards is a hassle. Also, it does not seem to recognize penalties (or I haven’t found out how to correct for them). It’s a good system, but maybe too much data.

I currently own a set of Cobra F7 5 - PW one length irons. Once I learned to play them my game has improved. I've dropped my handicap from 14 to 11.2 in two seasons. I had several rounds this summer where I was close to breaking 80. Admittedly, I do not play one length wedges and I do feel that the 5 iron comes out rather flat, but it does not offset all the benefits I have found.I'm thinking of upgrading my set and will test the Forged Tec. I like its looks and I've bought into its concept

I played the cobra forged one length, and i loved them. the only issue i had was that eventually after playing more and more, i needed different shafts which meant a custom fitting. I would play one length again without any issue, but I got custom fit into mizuno JPX 919 tour irons. I loved the one length, and it was the second performer behind the mizunos. the only difference was that I liked the height better with the mizunos in the longer irons, and I found it easier to shape the golf ball. I sold my set to a friend, and he has gone from a 24 handicap to a 16 since getting them. They are so easy to use since you don't have to change any other part of your swing. I think people should look into them more, but make sure that you get the right shaft and weight to help with your ball flight. Otherwise those forged one irons were incredible.

I love the One Length idea. I got the Sterling One length irons right when the came out, and agree I didnt like the long wedges, and I don't have the speed for a 3 or 4 iron. What i have resorted to is this. I have 2 single length hybrids at 40 inches (adjustable loft sleeve is a must here for gapping) I use 18 and 22 degrees. I have Sterling One Length 5 iron to 9 iron at 37 inches. Then for the wedges I have 4 Ping Stealth wedges all at 35.5, which is stock for the PW and GW. The PW is strengthened 1 degree to gap with the sterling 9. My SW and LW are lengthened .25 and .5, but NEVER take full swings with those clubs so "gapping" isn't a concern, its strictly a feel thing around the green or inside 80 yards. It's nice to have the consistency among all the wedges. It's crazy to think single length will just work for you because I'm faster than some (106 driver) and I'm not even close to being able to launch a 3 or 4 iron with the length of a 7 iron. However, to disregard the concept just because it didn't work 30 years ago, or your stuck in your ways is super super stupid. I've incorporated single length in my bag and it's really helped with consistency in every aspect of my game and just bought my 12 year old single length irons as well because I know it will help him too.

Play One Length F-Max Irons, subbed out the 4 and 5 iron for the F8 One Length Hybrid (probably my best club in bag), do struggle with getting height and also grip down on the wedges alot so contemplating tinkering them out!

I was curious about the concept and bought a cheap set of F7’s. loved them. Aesthetically a good looking club that isn’t chunky. I put a 5 hybrid in the bag and got rid of the 5 iron. I get really good gapping, ball flight is good, wedges fly silly high (which is just funny) and I don’t choked down, they just put a massive smile on my face when I get a good strike, which is more often now due to the one length. The gap wedge is fantastic (50degree) really easy to manipulate and is now my only club around the greens, small chips I choke down a bit sometimes. I really like fact you can stand taller in your posture. Bought some F9’s yes the go further, progressive shafts, tungsten blah blah. They are to chunky and aimed at a lot higher handicapper, so going to sell them. Another aspect that isn’t talked of much is the grips are less tapered, gives you such a better feel. Looking forward to trying out these forged bad boys. Thanks for all your hard work Mark and Dan

I have been playong King Forged One Lengths for a few years now. (the ones with traditional lofts). I have LW-5i. I swapped out my 4i with one length 4h and 3h. I really enjoy the set. I'm 6'3" tall so I like the longer wedges. The wedges go pretty high and the long irons are flatter and they do bunch up a bit, but I do hit them straighter. I'll probably stick with them.
