what if the deck boards underneath are warped ? boards warp with weather any suggestions?
Can you send a picture to sales@decko.com.au to advise. They can bridge uneven levels at a certain level. can you also measure the distance between joists on your deck?
Can they be installed over dirt or grass? What would be the foundation?
Sorry no - minimum compacted road-base - ideally hard surfaces as pavers, concrete, tiles or even old deck. On road-base recommend placing a layer of cheap weed-mat, not because of weeds but more to stabilise the surface and don't wash out sand while hosing.
I'm looking into the same question, seems like easiest bet is to install pavers over dirt and then the deckos, but might as well just build a deck at that point
since these can be driven on I imagine they can support the weight of a hot tub. yes? which comes to about 100 lb per square inch.
Definitely yes and plenty of customers are placing spa’s. See the photogallery page. Even your car…
@@luislajoscsiki-bege3935 awesome thanks. what is the max capacity?
@@luislajoscsiki-bege3935 Basically very strong as every tile has 174 strong pins - If a 4t truck doesn't affect the toles means in 4 wheels 1 t each. And on a surface less than a tile... So the wight of a full jacuzzi just on one tile... The question what is under. Concreted surface or a hanging light deck at elevation... The tiles will not be the weakest point....
Can you install on grass?

sorry skipping to answer - Sorry no - minimum compacted road-base - ideally hard surfaces as pavers, concrete, tiles or even old deck. On road-base recommend placing a layer of cheap weed-mat, not because of weeds but more to stabilise the surface and don't wash out sand while hosing.
Hi, I haave a small backyard approx 36sq mtrs that is concrete and has a fairly gentle slope. Can they be laid on a sloping surface? Do they effect the runoff drainage in anyway during heavy rain storms? Thanks
Yes, You can lay them on a gentle slope. The pins underneath the tile allow for drainage no problem, so it will not be a problem with heavy rain.
Hi, my floor in my balcony is a plywood only. I am thinking what to put on yop on it. And was planning to put such thing. Do you think it is recommendable since plywood weaken when gets wet?
Yes, Plywood does not really do well in the weather. You could use some cement sheeting and place the tile over the tile to create the look. Send us an email with some more info and photos at sales@decko.com.au. We'll be able to give you a better indication on what some of your options could be. Hope that helps :)
We currently have a tongue and groove cedar deck. Can this be installed without removing the cedar?
Sorry no, we have only this products
Apologies, I camn see that you received a wrong answer in rush... See references on our photogallery pages. Yes they are directly used to resurface timber decks or timber covered areas.
Hi there, how would the tiles grip onto outdoor tiles?
Sorry for late reply. Once interlocked they won't move even the support is a slippery tile. If just small surfaces are covered loke steps for example, liquid nail dots can stop the move.
Does it stain your existing pebble flooring if used outdoors?
Not at all, doesn't leave marks and no glue used to install.
@@luislajoscsiki-bege3935 Thank you
Can these be installed on a sloped driveway? Do they need to be anchored in any way?
They can be installed on a sloped driveway. It will depend on how sloped it it is as to whether or not they would need anchoring. Once they are all connected together it would be difficult to move them to slip. However, some liquid nails to should be sufficient anchoring was need
What about if you;re doing diagonal cuts? can they be cut?
You can cut them diagonally. All you need is any saw that cut timber. Take a look at some of photos from our gallery
decko.com.au/pages/deckogallery
Do they lose color or fade by dragging furniture over them?
They are UV stablised. The colour should remain the same over time.
Hi can I install these over tiled surface
Definitely yes, this is one of main applications. Change the cold unpleasant feel of outdoor tiles surfaces to a warm, wood-feel non slip living spaces. See our photogallery for references decko.com.au/pages/deckogallery
Is it available in Japan? Any authorized distributors here?
Hi not yet, under consideration.
Can these be used on flat roof made of TPO?
If you mean using these as a roofing tile, we would not recommend that. However we have had many clients you these with waterproofing membranes the for balconies and roof top terraces.
Does it feel flimsy or slide around?
They are a very pleasant wood feel, non slip even wet. Once they are self interlocking, the whole area never will move.
No, these are very stable. And once connected together will stay in place.
For many tiles are need for 250 sq feet
Sorry overlooked 23 boxes or 23 sqm but please send measurements in case to check exact number of tiles. sales@decko.com.au our email address
How many boxes would I need for 23m2
Sorry skipping - 23 boxes and see in which country you would need them at deckotiles.com
Do you have a GRAY color?
Sorry - see orr website - all grey looking tiles are the same charcoal but they a re playing lighter grey in the sun. Very nice and popular. decko.com.au/pages/deckogallery
Do these get hot to walk on in the sun like Trex?
Hi, yes walkable as the surface have the groowes and a sanded timber feel surface. The 5 mm gaps between the thin 10 mm solid boards and ventilated under are features preventing to accumulate the heat, the calories. With standard deck boards and even coated timber you have a plain contact with your barefoot. Not with DECKO. If you read customer reviews for Decko, customer who resurfaced her timber deck with the teak tiles noticed that is cooler than was the timber before. The darker colors usually are heating up more in sun in every material than lighter colors.
Can you please post the web address to order from USA?

So, not available in the US?
Not yet Brad, expeccted next year. Will advise you. Thanks for your understanding. Which state?
@@deckotilesaustralia8894 Texas - Dallas Metroplex area.
@@brad_neal thanks and will advise you.
@@deckotilesaustralia8894 please also let me know -reside in state of Maryland
Hi John - at this stage seems will have available stocks in US by February
Are they hard to remove?
They are easy enough remove if needed. It will take a little force the unconnected them, but it’s a pretty quick process.
@@DeckoDIYHomeImprovement Thanks! Do I need a screwdriver or something to pry them up? Or, best to use my hands. I was worried about breaking the interlocking snaps...
I would use my hands first wear I can grip to lift them. If I really need a screwdriver I proceed carefully so I don’t damage tile surface. It’s easiet to start from the outside edge of the tiles area and work in to where inspection might need to be made, whether it’s a drain, surface underneath or inspection for waterproofing. Great question well into a video about this. Hope it helps.
Thank you! I had success! Easy disassembly and reassembly!! Like you say, best to work from outside in!
But we need to screw em to the concrete floor
We have front porch
We have nothing on our front porch to hold them in a windy stormy day
Especially open flat edges
Sorry - skipped answer - no need for screws or any glue. Once they are self interlocking they don't move.
