@one3497 I'm just never actually going to use all the hardware or features on offer from the S-series so it'd be a huge waste of money IMO. Literally the ONLY feature I would've liked to see on the A55 is LTPO for even longer battery life. 😅
You say that but once you use a flagship smartphone it will prove you wrong in every way possible, except maybe for the battery. They are faster, can handle every task you throw at it, gaming experience is miles better, charging speeds are way better too, screens are better, cameras are, again ,miles better and quality build is top notch. So if you say that you must've never tried a true flagship phone.
Depends on your needs. It's true that the A55 pretty much does everything you should expect of a mobile phone. Anything above that is just extras or luxury. Some people want the extras and the luxury
For that amount of money, you can now get the S23. You could get the S23 Plus if you're lucky or go the preowned/refurbished way. The S23 smokes the A55 in every way. Same way you don't need to spend more than $450 on a phone, you also don't need to buy the latest, and that counts for these midrangers too. Just get a year old flagship for the same price and thank me later.
Yeah, but what i think is more criminal is that there are 600-900$ phones still be sold with just 128gb internal storage. I can rather live with a 120$ phone with 4gb ram and also 128gb internal storage.
it could be because of optimization as well as the a16 5g's chip being 3-4 years older generation-wise as it uses 5nm/6nm process compared to the 4nm of the a55
Make more battery drain test between flagship and midrange , and if you can try the get the M35 (Indian version) with 6000 mlA battery , we want to see how the battery capacity will affect regardless to other factors comparing to a phone like the A35 which has the same other specs as the M35 .
Hello, a small contribution: I have the Galaxy A15 5G (predecessor of the A16 5G), this device comes with the Dimensity 6100+, predecessor of the 6300 of the A16, these two share the same 1T1R WiFi antenna and also the same modem that MediaTek specifies, the low Strength of both signal and WiFi and in addition to energy consumption can be explained with this. I have the A15, and I can tell you that on the second floor, in my room, I have a bad WiFi signal in the 5Ghz Band, unlike my previous Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G smartphone. And also my 5G in places where it was not unstable now is.
phones will still retain bezels. we still need to class them. budget, mid, flagship level. you cannot just put symmetrical bezels to a budget phone. display manufacturer will never cheapen out their displays.
I tried a15 4g and i can say low budget samsung phones are awesome in their price range.. the downsides are poor wifi range, scree n missing some touches during games and 4gb ram causing some lags here & there
The issue with Samsung is only they are still giving eMMC storage. So even with an 8GB ram, the phone lags. Which they try to compensate with a superbly optimised software (ONE UI).
The real cheap phones have become real good today. The A15 was sold for 120 Euros in germany in April last year, and i guess the A16 will hit that price soon. I have the A15 (and many other samsung phones), and my tip is - don't buy the 4gb ram version, look at least for the 6gb version, or buy a A25 or A35 instead, 4 gb really is too weak today.
I think it is a bad decision that Samsung doesn't differentiate design among A and S series. Their top line phone has the same basic 3 hole design as a cheap A16.
S21 and S22 series had distinctive non-iphone, after that they went downhill with design. I'm okay with flat frame and display but the back looks uninspiring and it's hard to differentiate it from the cheaper models.
In regards to the lag, considering that it's the 4GB RAM version, I would expect that. Modern Android can't run smoothly on anything less than 6GB RAM, but no one should really go for anything less than 8GB if possible.
@@IVMZR I agree! It's usually the ones from like India and the Philippines constantly bching about notches because their cheap chinese garbage have holes in their screens lol I much rather a notch over a hole floating above the middle of my screen. It's terrible when you're gaming or watching videos in full screen with that ugly shit in your face. I honestly dislike both though. I miss the bezels on top. 4GB of ram in 2024 should be criminal as 60hz on iPhones
Agreed
bro iphone base models are so ass why are they so pricy

@Daemonarch2k6 well that's right
That A16 was giving them a run for their money.
Lol😅😂
Wish the A Series wouldn't have gotten so chonky, very uncomfortable to use one handed
a55 has adaptive refresh rate too
it goes from 120 to 60 when idle
s24 goes from 120 to 24 but on AOD it goes to 1 hz
Does it really go to 1 hz on AOD? IIRC it's still 24 hz
@@rezaasus6072 well it should in AOD though
Having the A16 lose in battery is such a surprise. The A15 would've easily won the battery test, what a downgrade from Samsung
Optimisation is important as the phone just launched. Samsung will release some updates for it which will fix battery drain, bugs etc

A16 seems like a perfect phone for my parents. I'm still using regular s24 and it works perfectly. Amazing compact device😀
Something would be wrong if a few month old flagship wouldn't work perfectly.
@vaultboy1419 Hahahaha thats true, but you know that people hate exynos for some reason. In my phone it runs great, not a single lag so far.

I have a Snapdragon S24 and I love it, the form factor is amazing. A55 is great but not available here in the States + too large for my hands.
I just wish entry-level phones would have the same compact size.
I’m actually surprised how bad the A16 sluggish is. Would’ve thought it was going to be much faster but I guess not. I can’t wait for A56 next year
great comparison
Is the A55 worth buying now or should I look for something else?
deff buy it it's a great deal now since it's released a while ago this year
It's not about how many pixels the camera has... it's about how good the camera lens and sensor are... just to let you know.
