You know, I've always wanted to learn to fly, and then a couple of weeks ago, I had a dream where I was flying in a microlight. Well that dream has stayed with me, and I can't shrug it! I need to get into this!!

Hang gliding is affordable and no rules.

Very true. All types of flying have their pros and cons though, and for me having 100 horses behind me means I can fly cross-country (as in hundreds of miles), and have all my camping stuff with me! :) Hang gliding I'd love to try sometime though.

I qualified on fixed wing microlights a couple of years ago. After many years getting cold and wet on motor bikes I didn't fancy it again in a flex wing!

It’s a hazard of flex flying that’s for sure! The only saving grace is that once you’re up, it’s easy to see the rain dumps and avoid them! 👍🏻

Dude, you kick ass. I took up singing a few years ago as a change of life's pace and am now getting into aviation as well! The good thing about the US, is that we need no certified training or licensure for this type of aircraft! Good times await.

Once I get thought my paragliding course and move onto the paramotor this year I'll pop up and join you for a flight someday. I work at muirfield golfcourse and often see you flying by.training has been slow due to the Scottish weather.

Great stuff! Yeah, the weather has been a bit dreadful the past few days. There were a few guys up today though, so not completely written off. I wasn't up... some maintenance required on the plane. Video to follow..... :)

great video, I fly a paramotor after starting off with paragliding, interesting you watch ppg videos as I watch microlight ones. I think the uk weather has much to do with my progression throught the aircraft types, microlight is my next step as opportunity to fly is greater. Im starting training in new year cant wait. although I think a flexwing will be my financial limit. But to me, open cockpit flying is the only wayand the most exhilarating. looking out of a window is not for me. Im subbed, looking forward to more videos, nice work!

      Hi Martin,
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I can't put the camera on my chest for safety reasons. The setup I use also pushes the audio from everything I record up through my helmet and into that camera. My more recent videos use more than one camera as well... in fact, I'm now using 5 separate cameras, all recording my flights for you to enjoy... so the head cam is only 20% of the footage!
I hope you enjoy those videos a little more!
      Keep well!
      G

Nice one boet! Agree with you on the reasons, same here!
I fly out of FATZ (Tzaneen) in a Raptor 582 and loving my journey...would like to get an instructors rating at some point which opens a door to earn a bit of extra cash WHILE indulging in such a brilliant activity!
We decided to move to Scotland last year but put things on hold due to the ramifications of C19, linked to my safari business which died overnight!
How are you finding living in "Sunny Dunny", Scotland, and the UK in general? A bit off-subject I know, but perhaps other safes might be interested.
    Safe flying!

Still based in Haenertsburg, Trike in Tzaneen...planning on moving her closer to home because she's just too far away to fly as regularly as I would like to! Nice video and wonderful views. There are only a few similarities between paramotoring and flexwing flying, in my opinion, as I do both; there are more differences. Commonalities are more down to airmanship. Yes, Tucker is the global sensation when it comes to paramotoring but unfortunately he is having a slight negative effect on the UK fliers. They all want the next hot ship and fly down low. I've found more people quoting FAR 103 than the ANO, which they have no clue about. You are a trained pilot, sat exams, tested etc. Most paramotorist don't have to and don't want to conform, its all about the 'Freedom of the skies man'..... Keep the videos coming. Lets hope 2020 has better weather for us all. I want to get my PeaPee out on some long XC flights.

    • @CentreofGravityUK

Let’s hope 2020 is a good year of decent weather indeed. Who knows.... perhaps we’ll bump into one another on a XC sometime.

@@CentreofGravityUK I just need to get the weather and have the grass strip dry a little. I need a few more flights to get my Hang glider Pilot rating back, then I can leave the airstrip. I can do this on my paramotor, just no the PeaBee... Yet.
