this game is a masterpiece, I absolutely love it
I played this game for the first time back in February. It was the reason that got me back into loving single player games again. 😌 Fantastic game!

Just in time for my third playthrough. Glad I'm only at the Surtur boss fight, wouldn't mind starting it all over again just for the enhanced visuals and the ray tracing.

It's weird to think that upgrades like this used to be sold at full price like with TLOU remastered. Now it's just an update.

PS4 wasn't backwards compatible.
On xbox it's never been sold since xbox 1x. Only, trash like that happens from Sony, ea and 2k

Played this all in Enriched Mode & it was glorious! So excited for the sequel.

I have played the game shortly after release three years ago and I am convinced that it had and still has a great impact to the general knowledge of mental illness and also to story driven games. This is a masterpiece. I wish you all the best, people at Ninja Theory.
I just reinstalled and played this again for the first time in two years to try on the new 4k system I just built. Being surprised with this free upgrade when doing so is the icing on the cake! Looks even better, with even more detail to see in higher resolution, and runs buttery smooth on highest settings on an RTX 3080ti. Thank you for continuing to pour the love into this game! Looking forward to part II ❤️

I'm thinking the next installment needs to be released along side a feature film. You got a lot of equipment there might as well shoot a film.
For anybody struggling with the settings, you have to change the graphics modes before you start playing. You can't change in-game.

RT is 4K/30. Without RT it’s 4K/60
Melina will surely grab best performance with the new one.

@@Zoza15 yeah I know, it's just that other xbox exclusives dont really interest me personally, and I love some of the ps exclusives. Which is why I bought a ps5. It just wouldn't make sense for me to also purchase a xbox. Maybe some time in the future when they get a pricedrop I will reconsider. Since I would love to continue the story of Senua.

Ninja theory is owned by microsoft now so there probably wont be a ps5 upgrade
The game was released 4 years ago on PS5, why should Microsoft support this game on PS5? Not even Sony is doing it for old games, just new games and at one $10 price tag...

Well, it is not impossible to have some kind of support for consumers that already own the game in other consoles... Obsidian's The Outer Worlds got a 60fps patch on ps5, so no need to make console war or attack me just because I asked for a simple 60fps patch
Played 3 times, once on my freshly shipped PS5 back in November. Probably would play one more if we got the next gen version too.

I wish we got an arena mode or survivor, but chapter select is great to. Sometimes I want to replay the game, but I change my mind just becouse I don't like some parts of the storie. Skip puzzles will help

Shadows: No (probably left out due to the nature of the puzzles)
Will we be able to switch between old and new graphics ? I like the new graphics but I genuienly prefer the old graphics.

It is only for Xbox, the game came out 4 years ago on PS4, the studio was bought 3 years ago, this is just Microsoft updating a game that will receive a sequel in a few years, keeping it exclusive just make it easier for the consumers when the sequel is released

@kratozz well because a lot of games are exclusive and go cross platform nowadays like the medium coming out on PlayStation next week even tho it was a Xbox exclusive or death stranding and horizon zero dawn coming to pc even tho they were Playstation exclusives for years. Or doki doki and the Stanley parable coming out to consoles even tho they were pc only for again several years. It wouldn’t be the craziest thing in gaming to ever happen

I'm aware that Microsoft purchased Ninja Theory, but since the game does exist on PS4 and can be downloaded on PS5, it would be nice to see that optimization on the PS5 as well. Obviously Hellblade 2 will be an Xbox exclusive, but would be nice to see the optimized version of Hellblade 1 on PS5... sigh... those console exclusives though understandable from a competition/business pov just kinda suck sometimes
If your someone would like Hellblades an Xbox would have been a better choice.

Does "enriched visuals mode" JUST mean that there's ray-tracing added?... I feel like it is. - But I kinda hope you'd also go through the game to update some more things, like some of the horrible (not exaggerated) textures that are strewn throughout the game and terrain or objects with only a flat texture and no tesselation or even bump-mapping a lot of the time. - There's also no footprints, no interaction with puddles, poor-looking foliage just sticking out of the flat grounds, pop-in, weird hiccups in very specific spots, just to quick-list a bunch of things. - The game doesn't look bad, it looks good for the most part. But while it's so focused on looking good, it has some bafflingly bad-looking details to it as well. - I know that perhaps you couldn't get it all worked out to the maximum when you made it (time and money, I don't know for a fact), perhaps it was held back by 8th-gen. consoles as well, but now is the time for a bit of a "remaster". - Also things like settings (at least on PC), such as a sensitivity-slider and slightly wider FOV-setting, Photo Mode also could some tweaking and reorganizing as it feels tacked-on. - It really needs more than just "ray-tracing on/off".

One X version had three graphics modes: resolution, performance and enriched visuals
Resolution mode targeted high resolution, performance targeted 60fps with lower graphics settings and enriched visuals mode tried to get as close to as possible to highest graphics settings sacrificing resolution and framerate.

@@starmade9367 I've been playing in resolution mode (which is 60fps). Enriched is 30fps with raytracing, and performance is 120fps with reduced resolution. I do love me some 120fps but mainly for fast paced or competitive games.

One of the most immersive games I've ever played, can't wait to play through it again on my Series X. Started the update as soon as I got off work.
I know I missed out on this game when it first came out, but now that it has received X|S optimization I have no more excuses but to download and play it.
