    I ran into financial issues when I was 25 for a couple of weeks and lived off rice and juice (cheap at the time). When my life stopped revolving around what food I was digesting, preparing, consuming or releasing the waste products of, I felt more free in terms of my thoughts and behaviour, and more interested in life itself. That was in 1997 and I still think of it today.
    Food consumes you as much as you consume it.

It was written in vedas(ancient hindu scriptures) which was written about 2000BC , and that book was about ayurveda, fasting method, plastic surgery! Cause ur overeating. The issue is not that eating early is a bad idea. The issue comes when you eat a heavy carb meal early in the morning. Eat a very very light healthy meal like for example. 2 eggs, no carbs, no milk non of that traditional breakfast bull shit. Keep is light no matter how badly u want to eat a tad bit more or " let me just take a bite from this slice of bread" dont. just dont it will bite you in the ass. Keep it extremely light and ull feel great.
      The biggest problem abouot people feeling sluggish or tired or not being able to function in a clear efficient manner is overeating. At least that has been the case for me. While fasting gives you the same result I dont think it's the smartest way to be efficient. Why would someone starve their body of nutrients that it naturally begs your mind to hunt for. It's absolutely retarded. I dont believe this fasting BS, no science reason behind why i dont believe it, just doesn't make sense to me that all of the sudden we need to starve ourselves to be efficient. I think it's bad carbs and overeating the biggest(overeating by far is the biggest factor) reason why people feel the way they do. And i say this because ive tested it. If i just eat 2 eggs and a glass of water, im ready to fking go, no fogginess, no laziness, just feel good or "normal". On the other hand if i eat either bad carbs or a big meal or even what some people might perceive as a "normal" meal i feel sluggish. Another big factor that ive noticed is staying away from carbs in the morning unless im going to do something extremely physical i stay away from carbs and stick to fast digesting proteins like eggs/chicken(no oils)/beans/peanut butter. Shit that your body isn't going to take an eternity to digest. This stuff has worked wonders for me, every body is diff but i honestly don't believe this fasting shit. It works in terms of thinking clearly and quicker but so does just eating lightly in the morning then eating your normal meals when you feel you dont require your mind as much to function/work. Once I eat my brain for whatever reason goes into hybernation mode. This is all based on a lot of peronal testing and experience. Nothing scientific just me testing how my body reacts to specific eating habbits. All take the info above with grain of salt, no body works the same.

    I started learning about prolonged fasting from Elliott Hulse last year, and at the start of the year I started going more plant based. I've never ate veggies or plants before, at least not to this degree. I've been on 1 meal a day since January, I typically drink half my body's weight in water every day, and I eat a plant based dinner. On occasion I'll treat myself to a slice of pizza or a burger. I went from 183 to 163. I work a full time job, plus run 2 businesses 7 days a week, and I sleep from 10pm-5am every day. Idk how I have the energy... But I do!!! Love your work, Tony Robbins introduced me to David Sinclair, I'm excited to start adding NMN to my daily routine 🙏❤️🔥

Idk what your current diet is, but this diet gets rid of sugar highs and crashes (excluding some sweet keto treats with sugar alternatives which isnt ideal) which may cause hunger and fatigue and helps maintain a steady energy level throughout the day and allow for longer, easier fasts. Some athletes have found it helps them perform their best as well. I recommend Ken Berry's and Shawn Baker's UA-cam videos for more info. and explanations. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

    Love the anti-aging segments the most Joe. Excellent interview as always. David's point regarding youth and disease fighting ability, can also be a result of being alive less, and so accumulation of less damage. This is another way of looking at it, which needs to be considered as part of the damage repair theory, which Aubrey De Grey is spearheading. We have seen time and time again with isolated molecules, that bringing "levels back up to youthful measures" do not extend life in humans. Testosterone and Estrogen for example, DHEA as another example. Although certain molecules and biomarkers decrease with age, their decrease may be a consequence of aging and not a causation of aging. As NAD+ decreases as we age, fixing the damage which causes NAD to decline, is another way of looking at the same item, rather than studying the "restocking" of the depleted molecule to youthful levels. For example, perhaps there is some mitochondrial dysfunction due to damage, which causes NAD depletion. If this is the case, then replacing NAD may be a band aid at best. I'm not discounting David's work, however I'm intending opening the floor to further discussion. What causes mitochondrial dysfunction, and if we repair the mitochondria, will NAD+ rise back to normal or some level or normalcy? It is my feeling that the mitochondria is still largely unknown and highly complex. "Energy producing organelle" is a giant over simplification and I think our understanding of how to repair the mitochondria from various forms of damage, will reveal new therapeutics to help us reach "longevity escape velocity." Looking forward to reading some further thoughts. Rob

It's clear common sense that the longer something takes a beating the weaker it becomes and the more susceptible to damage, and not necessarily because whatever it is just got older but rather the poisons, toxins, damage accumulated.

    • @GeeWhit
      @GeeWhit 2 роки тому

      Aubrey De Grey has only said that he thinks that some of these methods might not be as effective in humans as lab animals, and to quote him "But as a bridge to let people survive long enough to benefit from the much more powerful rejuvenation therapies that are coming, such measures will surely save lives.
