To be fair, they were put into the beta without much info surrounding them and have to be downloaded manually, so I thought that using the word 'secret' was fair. I also liked the alliteration. 😂
They are basically updates to existing sequencer devices across various different packs for sure, but I think that the way they're packaged up and function is actually pretty cool! It doesn't need to be new and innovative for it to be fun and cool, but if you don't like them then that's totally fine too! :)
These sequencers are all still in beta as far as I’m aware. You can download and install them as devices to use in Live 12.1 beta as of the time this video came out. I’m guessing once Live 12.1 goes public, they will either be a part of the core library, or maybe released as part of a separate Live Pack.
Always great & informative videos here, thanks!
Thank you for watching! :D
The Rhythmic Steps device is really awesome for creating some very unique and evolving drums, on a drum rack
100%!! I really like it 😁
Wow, these are awesome. I love tools like Step Sequencers.
Yeah they're really fun to play with! 😁
Nice. Just wanred to say that quantizers often kill the sinister techno vibe.
If you were confused on why you didn't hear the open hi hat, it was because the closed hi hat was used for both 2:30
That'd be why! It worked out anyway because I wanted to use the alt-feature. :)
Very cool! and very helpful thnx! sooo many awesome devices😅
You're very welcome!! Yeah these are some really nice additions! 😁
Love your high energy levels in every video. What's the secret?
Haha, thank you!
Honestly, I really just love talking about this stuff, and that translates to my energy levels. 😁
Looks like they internalized Ned Rush's M4L device
Not sure I'm familiar with that device! Would you be able to link it? :)
MAX4 Live version of audio modern Riffer ?
In a way I guess, yeah!
Isn’t Step Arp pretty much an update to the existing ARP M4L device?
Yes 🙂
Yeah it is! :)
Can these be used to send to hardware synths?
Absolutely! Just put the 'External Instrument' device after the sequencer on a track and route that to your synth. ☺️
@@matttinklermusic Awesome this will make a fine addition to my collection
They're not "secret" - they're in beta testing for release together with 12.1
To be fair, they were put into the beta without much info surrounding them and have to be downloaded manually, so I thought that using the word 'secret' was fair. I also liked the alliteration. 😂
@@matttinklermusic Yeah, I see your point. I had lots of fun with them, hope 12.1 is out soon. Oh, and subscribed - you've a fun channel :)
when is 12.1 out? i'm so hyped with beta
@@matttinklermusicThey’re secret to me. I don’t have 12.1 Beta, and Ableton won’t say when it will release.
@@Artek604when do you think it’ll come out
Great idea to group Rhythmic Steps into an effects rack to cover all 16 notes/pads!
Glad you thought so! :D
Anyone know why the Live 12 Betas seem to kill my Control Surface Scripts (at least ClyphX Pro)?
Is it a “beta thing”? Or is ClyphX Pro about to die?
I have no idea, sorry! I don't personally use ClyphX Pro. I'd potentially reach out to either Ableton Support or ClyphX support (or both) and ask.
Can't seem to find these in 12.1b10
nvm, found the link
Perfect!
Seems other would benefit from such knowledge @@matttinklermusic
@@joemurphy8972 Where?
So... a flock of seagulls?
Yes, they were very audible to me during filming 😂
These are pretty much the same free sequencers you can find for M4L devices. Nothing new here or even cool.
They are basically updates to existing sequencer devices across various different packs for sure, but I think that the way they're packaged up and function is actually pretty cool! It doesn't need to be new and innovative for it to be fun and cool, but if you don't like them then that's totally fine too! :)
Why should a basic sequencer be a “secret!? That’s just dumb and weird. This is stock in FL🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

@@PLASKmusic wow a sequencer in 2024 a beta!? C’mon Ableton!! Step up!!
Because not every DAW is sequencer based
It's just a new tool that they've been working on, and because it needs testing it's been put in the beta program. :)
@@matttinklermusic dope but Ableton should have this by default like other DAWS
