@Patriot Jefferson We actually create it into nice fabric for clothing like linen and cotton, thats the product that its actually well known for in the philippines. The leather thing was hers, although I wouldnt say she invented it cause it seems to me that she just added and tweaked some the steps to make it look that way. But she should awknowledged for it since it was her idea she just needs to give proper credits.
They're now a B Corp organisation and you're still complaining? If there's a Philippino designer or scientist who has achieved commercialisation and pioneers this material production globally then yeah, maybe they should say something.
Did you buy it? Thanks for buying from a stolen Philippine craft in which she patented and profited off from, all while litigating anyone from my country who tries to sell similar products like hers even though it's OURS in the first place.
I so want to do this. Have been reading this. We have lot of leather shoes and belts in our country. I am unsure where to start with this. Exact process, machinery, not too much funds as of now! :|
Does there exist a video here where someone discusses the product? Not the environment, or jobs, or their favorite color; just the product and what it is?
in another video i saw about this they said they add polymers and such. I think one of the tricky things of plant fibers is that more often than not they are made with plastics, synthetic chemicals and such and its almost impossible to find options that are really truly 100% organic and natural
These piña fibers are traditionally woven in our country often used in making traditional dresses and garments. 🇵🇭
Pina cloth is used for ages in the Philippines. There's nothing new! Give proper credits!
she did say they used it, but not like this

So you steal a technique and then say you invented it. Then proceed to patent it and claim is YOUR invention. Nah...
Personal journey of stealing!!
She stole this from the filipinos
Ohh so lovely! I'm really into this new innovation and I'm currently into saving up for a pair of pinatex based shoe!

She stole this invention in the Philippines. And claimed it as their own.

And it's good for the nonhuman animals who are conventually used for leather too!
Except she stole this technology from the Philippines and claimed it as her own. And sues any Filipino product that recreate it.

andrew weisel None..it’s suspect, her intentions. My2 cents
It’s is made from pineapples. Fibers from leftover.
Leather has a fibrous side and a smooth "skin" side. Fake leather usually has plastic on the "skin" side. Does this too?
I'm not sure but when looking at pinatex closely it looks like "skin" side has the texture but not the slippery part or of faux leather .
