Little known fact about why the VC circuit is called them Vc circuit…. It’s because a lot of computer chips also run off of 5 volts and need a “vc circuit” to turn on. The reason that the ecm doesn’t communicate when a 5v ref is shorted is because the chips on the circuit board has the same 5v and if they’re not getting 5v, the module isn’t turning on. Cool video Oz. And nollan is hands down one of the best techs i know and is creating the next generation of super techs!
You and a certain other auto mechanic in Houston are among my favorites because you take the time to explain your troubleshooting approach, then we get to watch the result of that approach. This is gold for laymen like myself who are simply trying to learn and understand. I appreciate what you do here on UA-cam very much. Thank you.
Awesome diagnosis Oz. Always like the explanation of what it takes for a certain system to work. 5v reference is something a lot of techs forget about.
You're an extremely smart technician, you obviously know what you're doing. With you're videos, if you want to be more engaging, watch them back and practice on your tone delivery when you're speaking and you will be crushing it! Keep them coming
Appreciate ate It. To this day I’m still trying to get better at my craft. Please feel free to check out my newest video. Let me know what you think of that one
Great man knowing how to replace a bad part is one thing but, understanding how to diagnose is priceless, this is coming from a Toyota diagnostic technician also👍🏾
Dude, you just walked me through how to fix an issue on my 2011 Sequoia. Couldn't get a code reader to connect and traced it back to broken wires on the cam sensor. Unplugged that sensor and everything came back to life. Looks like the wiring repair I did was not correct so I'll be digging back into it but I know what to do now and I'm back to being able to drive the thing. Thanks for the help!
Thanks Sherrod! Yea this one was the fastest I actually found a sensor. Like I told a friend I felt so lucky went I found this I went out to buy a lottery ticket!! But I lost :(
Thanks ameer. If you are starting and don’t know too much how the system works on a pcm as if it’s pull down or pull up system I would use an LED test light
Thanks for this video. Please educate me about the outside air getting inside the cabin even when it is switch off. My car is RAV-4 2016. How could i completely shut off air getting in from the outside.
Where are you located I have an 07 Toyota tundra took it to the shop to get a seal put in my transfer case now it won't run only firing on 2 cylinders on each side It has been at the shop for 2 months
Would you mind if I send you a p.m. I'm having similar issues with my 06 4Runner and I'm just lost. The truck was running and then now it won't start no check engine light and a code reader cannot connect in the OBD port which leads me to believe the ECU is going haywire but I can't figure out what is pulling it down. I've been working on the vehicle had it running all morning and then after lunch come back to start it and I hear a click and nothing
What could it mean if my 2006 Toyota Tundra doesn't turn nothing at all, No Electricity not even a Crank.... Could it be a Bad Ignition, Altenator, starter, Fuse or what could it be¿? My Battery should be good. it's practically new....
Hi everyone, I got a 07 Tundra 5.7l it cranks and starts no problem. But sometime it cranks no start even try 10 cranks still no start right. If I leave it a day or two and go back to crank and it starts no issue. When the issue occurred there was no spark so I replaced the crack shaft sensor but the issue still occurred. Any suggestions or tips thank you

Never in 1 million years would I get that lucky to have the first sensor I un plugged be the problem. Awesome fine!
Yea, it’s always the last sensor that’s behind a dash that takes 16 hours to remove. After this repair I got a lottery ticket, but I lost :(

Good work Oz. Clear explanation.
IS TEST LIGHT SAFER THAN THE LED TEST LIGHT FOR THE ECM?
Thanks ameer. If you are starting and don’t know too much how the system works on a pcm as if it’s pull down or pull up system I would use an LED test light
Love your enthusiasm
Thanks. Just makes it that much better working on electrical problems

Once you click the recirculating button on the ac that should stop outside out. Unless you have a pressure flap that’s stuck open.
I'm still convinced it needs at least 2 more pcms thrown at it lol. Nice work
And a bcm for good measures
O7 ECM need to be Firmware Updated at the Dealership. Transmissions should also be updated with fixed solenoids and valves.

Our wiring diagram shows us the EFI Relay that provides power to the two grey wires (A24 pins 2 & 3). Where is this relay located?
I have the same Tundra model, and my OBD2 indicates that the ACM needs to be reset. Have you encountered this issue?
👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks for stopping by Peter hope all is well with you
how was your vacation? did you bring any tequila?
It was amazing. The temperature never hit above 72 when I was in Guadalajara. Miss that weather
So because one 5v reference was missing the computer wouldn't let it crank, and it wouldn't communicate?
Is that the 5v ref was being pulled down or grounded. Causing the computer to go hay wire
