I do love these 5-minute videos for experts. It's not "hidden." It's in the status bar at the very bottom. Lots of tools put dynamic keystrokes down there. Always worth looking at when you use a tool.

In the first tip you can just select its edge and click g then double click z and you will be able to increase or dercrease in its direction.

Simpler solution to Edge Slide Clamp is just use move tool: GG and hold Alt to extend the slide. Thx for the compilation of useful techniques 🧡

these are great! tip: for "fattening" also consider "Alt+S". this will scale selected faces along their individual normals.

Your videos are really great. A cool topic would be inserting buildings into a video (shots from a drone), motion tracking, camera tracking for architects in blender. Tips on how to maintain the scale of buildings in a given video, or how to insert an object into a video where the object is behind a fence.

Tip #0: Memorize the keyboard shortcuts and use them exclusively. 1: gg and alt lets you move outside the clamps. 2: ctrl+shift+e. 3: k then x,y,z (xx,yy,zz for local rotation) 4: alt+s

You can just hold the alt key to slide in the direction past the resting position.

  • @joshhockey9

It does actually tell you how to toggle clamp in the tool properties, you just have to be looking while actively using the tool. The moment you clicked on that pin it gives the exact same information as if you pressed GG or used the context menu
Overall pretty useful video for beginners. I don't know how popular this kind of video is, but bite sized tool insights & workflow tips are never a bad thing.

How do you show that outline when modeling? like that wireframe sir?

    • @UHStudio

In the viewport header, top right, the two overlapping circles icon for Overlays, click the arrow to open the menu and near the middle there should be an option to enable Wirefeame

I am using material preview, so baiscally eevee, have wireframe on, use a sun light and a more reflective ground surface so it creates this type gradient effect. As for the material for the geometry, it's just teh default one. Hope this helps. Thing may also be a bit different now in 4.2 with Eevee Next, which is a new version of Eevee.

No mention of inset then holding Ctrl down...... Extrude and scale together!
Keep releasing and pressing the Ctrl while the inset is still active and you are moving the cursor up / down ........ to learn the tool.
