I stayed in Lamai about 10 years ago around Xmas and considering a trip back. But I remember debris often washing up on the beach, and I don´t remember being able to swim in the sea too often due to windy conditions...and that´s something I enjoy on an island. Crystal Bay was better.
This is not an elephant sanctuary it is a riding camp you should not be supporting places like there are proper sanctuaries if you researched this there are way more ethical ways to feed elephants
Beware of the jet ski scam. How this works is damage to the jet ski is hidden then when you come back the renter states that you damaged the jet ski then demand an outrageous amount of money. Before renting a jet ski checked it over very carefully and point out any possible damage to the renter. Also take photos before you head out.
