😂 no you miss the bf3 and hardline days bf4 didn't stop being a broken mess till dice L.A took over development which was the 2nd half of its life cycle but I feel ya man so do I, I just can't let people forget that bf4 was broken for HALF of its life if not more

@@EfrainMan It really should have been the main game mode that they focused on. With all the Legacy Maps, a map editor, and a few more features on the Game Editor, it may have made Game of the Year if it was fleshed out

Honestly turning the tide of battles to win Battlefield games are literally my favorite memories. Coming back to win after being down like 100 to 200 tickets at the end is a great feeling.
For real. It’s ironic because my most enjoyed BF moments HAVE been those ~10 ticket matches where my team was barely able to squeak out a win.
I’m not the “hype beast” type that gets excited by “only in BF moments” like jumping out of a vehicle and doing a trick shot. I don’t play BF for those moments. I play BF for the feeling if being in an immersive large scale war of attrition.

16:47 This is something that kind of exists in some battlefield maps actually! Hammerhead on BF4 has the two neutral Attack Helicopters spawn on opposite sides of the map, making them essentially a side objective the entire game. It makes the opening minutes of the match super intense because you'll often get into transport helicopter battles trying to secure the attack chopper and wild engagements with both teams scurrying to take off without getting shot out

I’ve been saying it forever but I’m glad LevelCap kinda hit on it: BF needs a new marquee mode that is similar to conquest but WAY more detailed and involved.
IMO, there needs to be multiple TYPES of objectives outside of just “sit in a capture radius and watch the flag go up.” I feel like having various types of objectives dotted around the map like: destroy this weapons depot with specific explosives, capture the fuel depot to reward your team with more vehicle spawns, maybe even a ROAMING objective that both teams could go for (such as a roaming AI convoy that would fight back against whichever team was currently engaging it).
I think BF might be able to learn a bit from Helldivers 2 when it comes to dynamic objectives that could be used to spice up the current conquest formula.
17:20 i think the player numbers for conq and breakthrough should be reduced to something like 40vs40 because 128 players was far too big of a jump in player numbers on a server.
What bf can do to evolve is to have space battles at the same time we are having land air and sea battles or just having bigger teams and maps but with commas on … on a big ass conquest map. Like 400 people… bf1 and bf5 had amazing maps
Modes ... Capture the hill , capture and hold the main base , POW Rescue , massive airdrop to control the key terrain , fight the bots of space invaders , etc , etc . Come on EA , DICE etc , use some thought on this .....
for the next battlefront (if there is one) to be a success, they should look at SWBF2 2006 classic edition. game had everything from all heroes, different classes, loads of maps from the movies whilst not big there were plenty that did the job, had a cool campaign from a clone troopers POV in order 66, space battles even had its own identity compared to the rush/conquest modes (very cool how you could control the capital ship turrets and blow up the enemy ship from the inside. even when you look at the game now with the mod capabilities that some people are able to create like SPACE to GROUND combat IS A MUST! so much they could learn from the past. do this and just add a battlepass or store that lets you buy skins and theyre sorted. banging game thatll make millions
Any Battlefield dev should listen at 15:25 or watch LC’s video on Dynamic Conquest. It would even make having a commander a bit more of an interesting role in my opinion.

You know what i want from the next battlefield game? Battlefield 4 remaster
With all content from BF3 included to the updated Frostbite engine.
1: behemoths and/or dynamic maps events
2: large scale and game altering destruction (the finals, but large and maybe "slower", meaning takes more damage to destroy buildings)
3: team driven mechanics that promote co-operation, even without microphones (bUt also promotes mic use)
Era/time whatever doesn't matter. It's all spice baby! BF1 was amazing, BF V became really good 1-2 years after launch and BF2042 is the absolute best in pure game convinience.
HOWEVER 2042 lacks all personality ands it just feels weird IDK. I think lack of destruction is just very off.

they should double down on the sandbox and the atmosphere. the finals is so much fun and i feel like Dice and take so much from them. also i agree a dynamic conquest would be a must.

Bad company 2 campaign was super good. The characters were amazing, the theme was clearly brotherhood being as a "squad". It's like The Bad Batch but Battlefield

I love this podcast you guys have, given that you levelcap is involved with game development, is there a possibility that you guys will invite devs over to talk about industry stuff or game development in general?
They’ve got some serious heavily lifting to do to be able to win me back as a customer. Two corner stones I would need to see is a fully featured, working game at launch and not live service. If they really wanted to win fans over, they’d not include any microtransactions whatsoever, and make a robust progression system.

Battlefield needs to make their multiplayer more like BF1
They already leaked that the mandaloian game got shut down because Disney was making them use Pedro as the character. And creatively they wanted to make there own.
I want battlefield to do a persistent game world conquest like Planetside 2. Planetside 2 does some really awesome stuff sometimes, even though I much prefer battlefield style gameplay, mostly.
I was playing redacted today and i went into an argument with the top player of the opposite team and he was saying about why spawn beacon shouldnt be in the game because they break the liniarity of the maps and also he was saying that people dont care about wins. He tried to insult me saying that i'm a 2 k/d player. So that is the level of perception. So sad. I remember so many excelent games in bf3, or bf1 or bfV where i turned the game around and won the game by a margin of a couple flags and it was the most intense feeling. You really felt engaged. This almost never happens in bf2042. Their ticket system is absolutely broken and it doesnt matter if you have 2 or 3 flags. It feels like ticket bleeding is the same.
They should make taking a flag meaningful , I think it was bf 3 or 4 when you capture a flag you would get something uavs ac130 tanks jets chopper anything would do

54:18 apparently its legal to play emulated games as long as u make a backup of YOUR original...and tbh people just download roms these days and just say its for backup purposes...Gunna be hard to stop every single person...so me as a retro collector i have a vast collection of original Super Nintendo and Sega games.... that i have made backups of myself...yes its easy to download...but there is a footprint there if anyone goes after that site...

I would like another game like BF5, maybe Vietnam setting? But with NO customization... no skins, no upgrades, no attachments. Just focus on making each weapon, class, vehicle, and map feel as unique and cool as possible.
Faction restricted weapons! Give the USA the M72, give the NVA the RPG... you can pick up a dead enemies weapon in the field, but spawning with enemy weapons is dumb.
They need to look at hell let loose and squad

The last game from DICE that had true passion behind it was Bad Company 2 and BF3.
BF3 wasn’t perfect but it was an incredible game. BF4 just never had the maps to make it a good game IMO.
Bad Company 3 would really be that love letter IF they could pull it off.
I just need really good animations,Surreal atmosphere. A modern believable near future setting. Superb map design and layout. 64 players. Server browser,naval combat ,water physics like im bf4,Realistic bullet drop simulations,SuppressionMicro Destruction,Macro Destruction,Vehicle physics, A lived in world setting that feels like war,squad managnent, Revolution, Custom Gane options that let you edit everything. Some new mechanics like being able to repel from helicopters, A Battlfield that emphasizes team play and synergy between each if the classes in many interesting ways,Giving commander only access to vehicle call ins and different bombs and strike packages. Really cool world with modern drones and things that are actually happening now are are being built by the world militaries. A game that looks like it draws more from reality than a game that looks like Apex Fortnite or a hero shooter. Superb vehicle gameplay and balancing between each vehicle type to ensure a solid fun experience. Fix all bugs and heavy server bases issues on release.
A story that is truly epic if not innovative the. Something simple believable and real.

Dice needs to stop hunting for the biggest net possible to bring in fans. They need to focus on pleasing there core fanbase and only then when thats achieved can they add more in.
I really think if you are playing an online team vs team fps you should get absolutely fucked if you lose. Maybe lose ranks or massive amounts of xp, etc and they make levels extremely critical to unlock more gear/attachments/guns etc
Ive actually grown to like 128 players, I find with BF poorly balanced helis and planes that players can exploit the air a lot easier on 64 player maps , Flare , dart behind high ground or building recover get 5-6-7 kills rinse repeat

Yeah, we totally want and need them to invest time and effort into another dead on arrival battle royal... because the other two times it worked so well and people really want it.

The main takeaway from everything is that they have ONE LAST CHANCE to get the next Battlefield right before it just becomes a dead franchise. Its just how it is.

I want an online shooter that feels and appears to run in realtime. The garbage net code in 2042 makes you feel at BEST 500ms behind at 20ms ping.

Long time bf fans now... bf2142 needs a freaking sequel. And I don't want it to be a huge game. Just abbit more than the original. Heck I'll take a remaster
would have to disagree with the statement that bad company 2 had too much destructibility. i can understand that the total destruction of a building made it nicer for campers but buildings would get destroyed over time through the match. they still created a lot of environment that could not be destroyed. personally as someone who has loved battlefield over the years, i think that a combination of bad company 2 and battlefield 3 would make for an amazing game. unfortunately i don't think the original dice developers are around still from those games. if they would bring it back with emphasis on the guns and destruction. Sprinkle in some vehicles, should be good but that is wishful thinking
I don’t know if this would necessarily be the case with Battlefield, but Warzone has pretty much ruined multiplayer design. COD releases from MW2019 to now have been the most similar in the franchises history. Because all the MP games need to sync with Warzone, design decisions are made for Warzone primarily, and then brought into MP. I miss hitscan arena based shooters.
Battlefield could be different, as the BR model would work well with BF’s base gameplay. Throw in some shields/armor and you’re pretty much set, whereas COD needed modification to work in the large open environments.

Agree. Battlefield needs to stick to the nuts and bolts that made it better than cod, big maps with destruction and a mix of infantry and vehicle combat. Nobody wants a cod clone

They're currently DESTROYING 2042 with the new changes they're implementing. The head of the design team for the next installment left, and the entire company was sacked shortly after. There is chaos within EA and DICE atm and there is absolutely no hope for the next Battlefield game. Sad, but true.
Ultimately the deep fans will be perpetually disappointed because the classic Battlefield experience just won't fly for EA's shareholders these days. They see the money being made by F2P games like Warzone, Fortnite, etc and they want to shove BF in that direction sadly. They tried laying the groundwork for that in 2042 with the cringy operators with "special" abilities surely with cosmetics in mind. They're just doing what businesses do and chasing the money. Sadly I think we will have to rely on AA devs to make the next BF successor. We've been close with certain games, but for now I still boot up BF4 on my PC and thankfully there are some solid servers still running in the community. I would love a Bad Company 3 but I just have a gut feeling that they would totally butcher it at this point between ruining the story to trying to shoehorn in crappy F2P mtx crap. I'm in the minority of players who thought BF1 and BFV weren't up to snuff either. It didn't have the same fun/charm/smart design that BF4 or 3 has. Then 2042 promised to be that love letter to fans and it was a HUGE let down. If anything, they should focus on expanding the portal option and make that it's own game. Basically a Master Chief Collection but for BF 1942-BF4 or something. That would probably be the best we could get moving forward.

What we want is modern maybe realistic wars. Movement like bfv maybe even better with tech now days. Destruction like bfv but maybe even better with new techs. The ability to build fortifications. Maps that feel alive and not dull and open cookie cutter. A good weather system that changes the map not just a tornado every one runs to do they can fly around. Maybe make it cause more damage floods change maps night and day cycle. Land air and sea on most maps. 2042 has zero sea. One that I been wanting for the repair tool make the vehicle that are damaged reflect they are like rocket to left front wheel or track the driver has trouble and the vehicle pulls left. Turrets moves and reloads slower when hit and all repairs can only be fixed with repair tool. Get rid of the unlimited ammo for vehicles. The most annoying thing is air vehicle get unlimited flares and they run away when your out of rockets till they have flares again so they literally can dominate the whole map if you don't have a small army with rockets going after them. Get rid of specialists and get rid of the stupid characters that look alike on the other team. Bring back customization for your own person so it feels like it's someone you are and control. Going back to 64 or maybe even 80 player maps 128 is way too much sadly for the maps that you make. Bring back a firestorm free to play tho firestorm was fun but locked behind the game didn't live up and make updates to it. Firestorm and every battle Royal they try is left in the dark never getting updates or new maps. It needs to be like bf1 and bfv had a baby both those titles had good to take away and make a better game. Sadly EA will never listen and do what they want just like their love letter to us epic fail that being said I won't be pre ordering the next one at all. First battlefield I would have never preordered but I have little Faith in them now.
Lets go back to the days of bf3 and bf4 stop with all of this futuristic modern warfare BS every military sim is doing nowdays.

I think that the # of devs working on battlefield is irrelevant (obviously to a certain extent. It seems like the people in charge over at EA/DICE are awful to work for and stick their grubby little fingers in everything instead of the developers just make a good game.

I’m not excited for Battlefield anymore. I’m just going to assume the next one is going to suck. Battlefield 3 was the peak, and Battlefield 4 (post launch patches) was the epilogue of the franchise.

dynamic destruction - the graphics engine they had could never deliver on the types of destruction they wanted to go to and maintain performance - they had to back off. BF has always been really good at hiding latency, and advanced destruction broke this.
I haven't played any Battlefield title since Battlefield 1. Last good game they put out. Never touched any other newer games after that. BFV - TRASH. BF: 2042 - Wtf is this shit? TRASH. Why can't we get a good shooter anymore? Good lord....... Stop showing a trailer showing all these types of cool stuff and then dumb it down where it's not fun. Why? I guess I'll wait another 5 years maybe. Where did the high standards go? Out the door that's where it went.
