@@amirdahan5660 personally never saw the usage to be that low tbh, but that may be due to swap. i used to have 8gb of ram, and once i upgraded to 16, win started using a lot more physical memory (i now am at 7-9gb after booting, but that's with a lot of background stuff)
I hate these sorts of distros that just get rid of SystemD for no reason. SystemD isnt that bad, its not a reason to create an entirely new distro just to escape it. As far as i can tell, this "Windows 10" its just another anti-systemD distro like Devuan or Artix.
SystemD is malware designed to offer a backdoor into your system to the government. I am glad Windows doesn't use SystemD, as they clearly value our privacy more than most other distros.

The driver support is pretty decent at least, but it's weird that none of the kernel modules are loaded, the system has to load them after you connect the device, on the spot. windows 10 also seems to handle Novideo drivers better than any other distro.
Fun fact: Office used to be shipped for free with Windows, but they got sued for anti-competitive practices. *Correction: the sue was actually about IE.

To fix the terminal you need to install a package called "WSL" from the integrated package manager. The biggest advantage of this distro tho is the fact that OS kernel runs on wine, so it can run .exe apps. But this version of wine is quite old, unstable, slow and has a tons of bugs and vulnerabilities. So it even crashes sometimes. I don't understand why they're keep using such an unstable and buggy version, while Proton is much better and newer fork for example. And why run kernel on wine anyways? Why don't just use linux kernel instead, as every other normal distro do and simply run .exe with newer version of wine?
I have to admit to something. I play Minecraft Java Edition on Linux since it does not eat up as much RAM as Windows 10 does. I know it souds silly but my laptop is 8 years old and Linux gives me best preformance
Yikes, I've used this distro before. It's honestly a nightmare. No universal package manager to easily update programs and I even heard they use a custom kernel that slowly degrades over time.

I was able to convince my professor to let me use Linux with MinGW, as long as i submit a compiled windows binary with my source (just install the mingw-w64 package)
if the question was for real, just use a vm, i suppose? performance is gonna suck, but i doubt that you're going to be forced to use it throughout all semesters, and the stuff you do at the beginning could be compiled and executed by literally anything that's not older then, like 10 years or something along the lines. or dual boot and use win 10 for that one course only, if you really can't afford using a vm :D

Yeah, I just found out that the guys who maintain MacOS also have a mobile version they call iOS. It's supposedly the best Linux distro for phones, and it has a really good package manager too. App developers are so madly in love with iOS that they sometimes don't even bother making versions of their apps for other distros. Like, how am I supposed to migrate to iOS if my favorite Android programs won't run on it?
Exactly for this reason, this distro is a good choice, an alternative to ubuntu, for the poor windows7 user who is used to pay for things others get for free.

Don't really know why you guys are complaining about ram usage. You run a couple of scripts to remove bloatware, uninstall a couple of programs, disable diagnostics tools, disable services... And it stays that way. Ram usage is 1.3GB, no random spikes. Best support for everything, best performance for casual usage.
I use a de-bloated build of 19H2 and it still uses 3GB on boot with literally no services or processes at startup, while on my laptop i use LTSC and that... well... 700MB at boot is pretty incredible for Win10 i guess (it still runs worse than Manjaro with KDE Plasma though)

I could reach 900 mb RAM usage in idle time by disabling many useless and stupid win 10 features, it took me 2 days
straight out of the box windows 10 uses like 1-2 gb depending on ur architecture (x64-x86)

Windows 10 uses its own bootloader instead of grub, and it removes grub when you install it...
