Like that Kerk maintains a nonchalant, plodding demeanor before, during and post match. No fist pumping or singlet stretching, just a cordial handshake and off the mat he goes.
@michaelmaloskyjr exactly, class act. Wish more guys followed that example in collegiate career. After that, if they want to make money by generating attention & "growing their brand" with some gimmicks or persona like Steveson, i get it. But learn to do it with class first - and not for appearances sake, either! I think it's been fairly well-established that it builds mental discipline and helps any athlete learn to compete to the best of their abilities every match, less dependent on where their emotions & confidence levels are at.
@@allphornunn let people act how they want to it brings different vibes to the sport. Everybody acting the same/ having the same personality is boring for the sport.
@@mzzsoldier25yearsago65 definitely see your point and agree it almost sounds life fascist wrestling from that perspective lmao. But I'm just saying I think it's not only good sportsmanship but also helps a wrestler build up mental discipline, too. don't need a degree in sports psychology to know how important that can be for an elite competitor if they progress to the top of the sport.
tech fall #2 in country is amazing. Penn State has such depth in it's wrestling room. It shows in this match. Wyatt's still looking for someone to practice with at the Air Force Academy. Kerkvliet is a beast.
What the!! 8-0 2nd period 1takedown, back exposure and an escape. Seems like international wrestling is merging with collegiate wrestling. Big points fast matches 🤔
Guy had him beet 11 to 0 how come they didn't call the match is there different rules I thought 10 to 0 was a tec please correct me if I wrong been along time since I've been on the mat
In American folkstyle the tech is 15-0. Folkstyle is college and high school. Summer wrestling and Olympic wrestling is freestyle, that's where you see 10-0 tech.

I've always appreciated his businesslike demeanor.

That immediate handshake was a sign of great sportsmanship for sure
Greg's confidence was off the charts this year and his wrestling showed it.
Tech #2 is impressive.
Thank you for putting this on UA-cam

Wide open now that Steveson, Parris, and Cassioppi are gone
Cassioppi was never a title threat. Not really wide open either.. Kirkvliet is the clear favorite.
We like big Cass but wasn’t ever on an island like the Gable. Paris was almost on his own tier as well.
I wouldn't call it "wide open". Kirkvliet absolutely demolished #2, world champion, Hendrickson.
whats this stevenson coming back with/ iowa@@thomasecker1591
Not anymore 💀💀💀
Steveson’s back
Penn State has is such a powerhouse
who's here because of CJI ?
Me...
That guy looks formidable. 80kg+ has a ridiculous bracket!
High praise coming from David Taylor
But Greg is heavyweight… Taylor came from such a low weight class relative to

Wow! Impressive high level wrestling.
How does the scoring work? I'm not familiar with this. Thanks
the changes takedowns to be 3 points
and a 5 count turn is 4 points
Omg what a great match by Penn state
I would like to have seen this kirk vs Gabe Stevenson this year I bet it would be a great and a close match
Wow. Hope that doesn't destroy Hendrickson's confidence going forward.
Won’t matter because Kerk isn’t going to lose again.
@@jomama969 The results of the match vs Kerkvliet suggests a very different probability.
Flashback in the late November of 2023
#2 would've been a better wrestler if he wasn't at AFA. He doesn't have good practice partners compared to PSU.

So... Why did the ref stop the match after Hendrickson bellied out after that first flurry? Headgear?
Injury time
Tech is now being ahead by 25 points.
I love Hendrickson but he gotta get that defense up
Well done sir!
Kerkvliet's future opponents look at what's waiting for you, and be afraid..very afraid.
The air force guy heart his neck first
Shot
Oh no! This spoiler is missing from the title!
Awesome
A good number of cadets are headed for fighter pilot. Not Wyatt. He would never fit in the cockpit 😂

You’re thinking freestyle.
Good thing Gable is gone
Pin 🔥🔥🔥
Class act!
Hendrickson could've ended it at 6:20 damn
not really
Lol. No
Hendrickson should of been pinned right off the start
