- Hoping to tap into the success of Ford and Ram, Chevy in rolling out a light-duty diesel pickup of its own. But how does the 2020 Silverado Duramax stack up? Watch on to find out.
I just bought a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Duramax and you made it sound so terrible this truck out performs the competition in towing and no turbo lag
People forget that chevy had diesels in their 90s trucks and 80s. Its not a new thing its just people dont know about the old 1500 diesels
The 6.5s actally arnt to bad. I have one with 255k miles i did remove the engine but only to put manifolds, glow plugs, injectors, hx40 turbo, new intake and to paint it detriot green. But if you put a marine fuel pump on it. Remove the vacum pump and just build a manual waste gate. And move the pmd. You have pretty much builtproofed a 6.5.
People bitch about new cars being expensive and then complain how older cars have bad materials, smh.
You make nice videos Drew, get a gimbal for the in-car footage maybe?
I think Ford is cutting its own throat not putting theirs in xl models so Chevy will be smart to offer theirs in base models lots of people will drive either one They both make good products. The hard core Chevy and Ford people will stick to their brand not realizing what their missing out on .
I don’t believe it’s the torque that’s limiting its towing but other factors. When these are rated the go thru a specific set of test to determine the tow rating and this one doesn’t make the higher numbers. That’s not to say given an equal load between all of the big three that it wouldn’t do better towing, it’s just not rated as high. Say a 7k load between all three.
What was the payload on the LTZ you drove?
What's the zero to 60 numbers?
Way
too much talk and not enough DIESEL!!!!!
Work on your reviews.
Lot to improve on.
Too much fluff yappin
Low to mid 20 MPG with a V8? Yeah no it's gonna be high teens.
Under perform compared to the Dodge 1500 diesel? Yeah, negative. The new 3.0 gm diesel is more powerful.
Well the Ram has more torque and can tow 3,000 more pounds, so....
@@TheDrewJohnsonExperience LETS COMPARE 1ST! BET THE DMAX WILL SMOKE EM ALL IN THE STUFF WE AS TRUCK OWNERS ACTUALLY CARE FOR!
All aluminum only rated for 150k miles.
You tried JJ....
I've never seen someone talk with their hands as much as this guy. Lifts both hands when talking at least 35 times.
A world first. I'll take it!
someone's never watched Raiti's Rides channel. it's all "jazz hands" all the time.
I have a 19 with the 5.3 and consistently return 27mpg. I also tow more, have a better sounding exhaust and engine noise, and run E85 for $1.90. This isn't remotely worth the extra cost.
27mpg in a 5.3....gonna call BS on that bud. Unless you drive 55 everywhere and never have to stop except work and your driveway
@@derekm3304 I've since gotten it up to 29.7, but don't have a photo. Guys on the forums are seeing 32-33mpg.

Chevy needs to get that interior upgrade released asap. The Ram makes Chevy's interior look like crap. I know it's coming but this confirms basically not until 2021. Lame. Way to drop the ball GM. Too many lawyers and bean counters involved.
steven wright totally agree when I leased. My truck I went Silverado and with that said my lease is about up and I love the ram interior
