      Ho ho!! And it's gonna be verum rex who starts it. Verum rex will be a black sheep in all final fantasy universes. The true king will emerge as an outcast - living in a universe existing yet not believed to exist. It will unfold to sora that besides the disney worlds there are other worlds that are open and they leak its light warriors to another world which is not supposed to happen (dissidia) so he must seal all gates of final fantasies to end dissidia. But will this get a happy ending or will it mean trapping squall and others inside dissidia as it vanishes? Without the light warriors in their respective worlds, their worlds will be distraught, new enemies will emerge compromising their worlds and no warriors of light to vanquish them.
      Then sora asks "is this my fault?"
      Then he turns to the true king as his eyes change to crimson red...

  • @AscendantStoic
    @AscendantStoic 3 роки тому +31

    I'd rather have 14 do that, they are already pretty damn good at integrating stories and characters from other FF games, even from Square games we will never get (Vagrant Story 2, sigh), so it would be great if the next major storyline after Endwalker is a Dissidia style story that takes us across the FF universe dropping us into locations from those games and teaming us and our 14 characters with characters from the other games (post their own FF stories), that would be quite epic specially it will span several expansions.

    • @jesseberg3271
      @jesseberg3271 3 роки тому +4

      I'd thought about that when I played Shadow Bringers, with the first game having been light enough on story that that could be the "first shard" but I don't think that's what they're planning.

    • @NoctLightCloud
      @NoctLightCloud 3 роки тому +4

      there's a lot of things that can go wrong there. There's no way one dev team is able to smoothly continue & integrate characters and develop believable character traits post their own FF stories for every single one. It would be an awesome idea, but no one's gonna accept such a huge burden just for an expansion. Even thinking about e.g., just Lightning or Cloud, for starters, it's already very difficult to write their character post-game DESPITE so much material and so many games we have with them. The fans will never be happy. So better stick to the beautiful XIV world and use their assets and what they already have. Also, I didn't think there would be content post Endwalker. I thought Yoshida was going to move to the mainline games, and that his team was going to port XIV to mobile and the Switch and make an offline version of XIV some day. Never thought about post-Endwalker, tbh.

    • @AscendantStoic
      @AscendantStoic 3 роки тому +3

      @@NoctLightCloud They already said that they will spare no expense on making the game the best it could be, and talked about the stuff they will focus on in the next 10 years, so there is at least 8-10 years more of FF14 before we get another online FF game (maybe FF19 or something), so Endwalker isn't the end of the road, it's just the end for the current story and afterwards a new story will start.
      Also the FF14 team already created adaptions or cameos for characters, summons and bosses from all across the FF games, most recent being Noctis (FF15), then we had Gilgamesh and Yojimbo and the Ultima and Omega weapons, also Lightning made an appearance (FF13), as well as characters like Fran (FF12), and Yasumi Matsuno himself created a raid series that involved many characters and enemies from FF Tactics, so they are quite familiar with the process.

    I also think that way, that Origin is gonna connect ALL ff games. (Cause we've literally also had Dissidia and no one was really against Dissidia. And we had XIV.) I think it would be well received if it was a good game like XIV doing that. But fans are gonna find that connecting lame because the game Origin itself is highly likely to be just lame (unfortunately). I am VERY sure that if VIIR was done in an even more sophisticated way (e.g., open areas, overworld, more than just Midgar) that the whisperers would've been much better received. Same for KH3. It's difficult for the masses to seperate an idea/plot from the overall game's reception.
    Tldr; Yes, everyone's gonna hate this idea.

  • @Nobanion
    @Nobanion 3 роки тому +13

    I honestly wouldn’t mind this theory working out, if given more detail. Having a Dissida-like Action RPG sounds hype as all hell! Although, the more likely case here is that it not only explains the origins of Garland, but the time loop as a whole since the time loop isn’t easy to explain in text. I got hyped for this as well, since FF1 needed some much needed lore expansion outside of Dissidia’s exploration on their Cid & summons being gone.
    Either way, this game is a Day 1 buy, hands down!

    I also have the same theory as you and one of them that all of final fantasy series ending bosses were former agents of lufenians and the avengers/warriors of light are the inhabitants of the new world that they have to train when the lufenians decided to erase their worlds existence, so that they have a sliver of hope to fight for their world and to prove the lufenians that the inhabitants of the new world can take care of themselves and they don't need anymore their guidance to keep the balance of light and darkness. And most of all that to tell the lufenians that they can't use the god card to play/toy the new worlds anymore
    And my theory is that the lufenians are the real villains of the ff series.

    So even they aren't too sure what the references are for... how surprising. This being a project attempting to connect FFs sounds about as good as Compilation enhancing the original game (just kidding of course, the former is way worse), as even there it doesn't seem too clear what's canon or not, as has been further shown with VIIR, in a sort of "it matters when we want to matter, maybe".
    The more I hear about this game's possible aspirations, the more I want it to *just* be a heavily modded (and downgraded) Nioh 2, contradicting my own feelings by two layers. Thanks SE.

    • @vincentgraymore
      @vincentgraymore 3 роки тому +1

      It is fine as separate stories, but it is the greed of wanting it all connected and having it a mystery to entice people. I would love for FF VII remake to not be connected as in being a sequel etc, but the narrative devices of using fate and time where the blueprint was the OG connect it to the OG regardless of whatever excuse or explanation is used and even if they eventually go down "similar route". Dissdia and such games work when just for fun but if they are supposed to be canon it destroys the worlds it builds itself on just for some form of fan service as it is impossible to juggle every FF games stories without destroying them with mechanics needed to do these crossover games.
      It is also sad when the developers do as you say, and it seems that lore and such only matters when they want, and it is freely discarded for whatever reason at other times.

Connecting the whole franchise however is going to have MASSIVE implications though just from the FFXIV connection since that is connected to the DrakeNieR universe, NieR specifically being an alternate version of earth. All other crossovers be damned in FFXIV since they of dubious canonicity, that alone will open so many potential theories since that game also involves dimensional travel.

    So I’ve always known FFX and FF7 are connected but I recently found out FF12 and FF Tatics take place in the same world with 12 occurring pre Tatics. With all that and FF15 sometimes appearing in FF14 events, I’ve been thinking for awhile about how all these games could exist in a multiverse. With this game saying that by starting the events of FF1, it would literally start the events of all FF games it’s not a bad idea how to explain the multiverse. FF1 SHOULD be what creates this multiverse.
    The problem is though if Stranger of Paradise isn’t a great game with Mr. Shaddy, this great potential idea will turn out terribly in execution. And if this does that, all the good will FF14 (and to some FF7RE) have brought to the franchise will piss of the FF community and those kinda being brought back to the franchise. FF is on shaky ground with FF14 helping this series for many, so this won’t hurt FF14, but this could hurt all the good 14 has done to the name of FF.

      I disagree with all the FF worlds being connected, from physics standpoint. for For example FF7 has the lifestream and Final Fantasy 9 has the mist that can create monsters. Every Final Fantasy seems to have its own method of magic,abilities and world orgins. I guess you could make it into a multiverse or omniverse, but not a timeline.

      I hope this theory isn't true. I prefer the current arrangement wherein each mainline FF game is a completely separate canon whose contents do not co-exist alongside those of other mainline FF games. All multiverse theory would do is solidify that nothing is unique, ergo everything is expendable.

    That is impossible. Final Fantasy consists of 2 different planets with interval other worlds within themselves. There is the Ivalice world and there is the Terra world. Ivalice has its opposite world of the original Final Fantasy 1 world. The Terra worlds opposite world is the place from Final Fantasy 7 through 10, an empty barren wasteland with castles, beautiful cities, and palaces.
    In 5, they fuse together as one planet, mixing together both the Terra and other barren world.
    Now that I think about it though. Of those 4 different dimensions from the 2 worlds, theoretically, Ivalice would resemble the water world considering all the marshes and buried under water cities, it's opposite world is fire considering all the technology as the symbol for advanced technology is fire meaning to do things, specifically invent things like Airships for instance. The Terra world is earth obviously, that means the barren world is air/wind meaning intellect and wisdom, and definitely had a lot of wisdom in that world. I wonder if they were all one planet at one time, but man, that planet would be massive, like 3 times it's size in density, meaning something probably happened that was dangerous, so they split the world in half and then split the planets into 2 worlds each one to protect it, but what is that reason? Perhaps maybe the game might give us a clue.

So basically a Final Fantasy Avengers, FFVIIR was the beginning, the loop was broken and destiny was beaten. Also, ffxiii trilogy dabbles in time travel quite a bit....which is sus. Let's not forget ultimecia as well. So many possibilities.

    All I really know about Final Fantasy, and for that matter, any videogame connection at all, is that, be it by references, easter eggs or simply inspiration, there will always be a connection to higher realities.
    What I mean by that is that both Nintendo games, as well as all games related to the games Nintendo makes, as well aa other companies, grouped together as a whole, are made by people in our part of reality, and, if anything, it all culminates in Super Smash Bros.
    The reason I say this, even though it seems that I'm not even talking about Final Fanrasy, is because Final Fantasy, as a whole, was born from people with creative and logical faculties, meaning, the world itself has an "error". That "error" I speak of is "Void", which appears always in the world of videogames, be it in a smaller or lesser degree, as a background thing or a main threat.
    "The Void", from where darkness comes from, is not possible if there is no absence of light, and since light exists forever past, present and future, beyond the material, when there is an infinitely small region of reality that collapses because of evil, it enters a state of stagnancy, and with it, brings death.
    "Death", as in, "devoid of spiritual life", meaning, spirits, souls and matter can still exist, but without life, it slowly decays until nothing is left, and this is because of stagnancy and the lack of love.
    Ultimately, life is designed to have both spiritual and physical life, so, what happenes when life is created, and then, beings, out of their own free will, choose to do evil? They fall. Their frequencies fall. Their state, corrupted.
    This in turn, leads to delusions, false projections of a percieved reality where nothing is as it seems, and with it, spiritual darkness, as in, "devoid of knowledge and the fall after pride, leading to the blindness that deprives souls of the ability to see beyond the mere superficial".
    This brings two things into consideration: The tiresome teaching of "ying/yang", "two sides of the same coin", which isn't even a good analogy to begin with, but i digress.
    In other words, false light and obscurity (both darkness).
    "The Void" is simply a part of reality that is corrupt. This is a part of Hell that manifests in reality every time the frequenc drops so low that everything collapses spiritually, so much so, that even the light we see is but mere darkness that we are used to.
    "The Void", as in a comsic being made out of many, is also not a thought, nor is it a force, it's a cosmic being that lacks the godliness it once had. As such, it rebels against its Creator, beyond just videogames, and as such, is found also in human beings, which in turn, make the games we see now.
    The result: A collection of realities that range far and wide through various worlds infested with Darkness, and with it, brings disorder, or in the case of Final Fantasy, Chaos and witchcraft, which ultimately leads to world destruction.
    In the final reality of the collection of worlds lies a false heaven called "Nintendo", with a false god, an idol, if you will.
    This false god is represented with the many phases that we've seen in Kirby games, Zelda games, Mario games, Kingdom Hearts games, Mother games, and many others.
    Master Hand wasn't even first introduced in Smash, but in Kirby, and Galeem and Darkhon are literally "The Dead Evil One", from Lovecraftian mythos, which is the one who is spiritually dead, and therefore "asleep", posing both as false benevolence and deceitful obscurity.
    This cosmic being is ugly beyond recognition, and has been the cause for others to fall and be driven mad since ancient times, in all dimensions and realities within videogames.
    The characters that we've known stand no chance alone, which is why a real savior is needed.
    Sadly, and even though The Savior defeated death, the grave and the "evil god of this world", some coose to remain part of the world, be it out of lack of knowledge or simply refusing Him.
    As for Final Fantasy: Regardless as to weither the multiverse, as portrayed in the media, actually exists or not, Final Fantasy has the same common enemy as the rest of the videogame world; "Void", or simply put, HaSatan, "The Adversary".
    Not Satan, HaSatan. HaSatan is made up of many Satans, "many adversary", "legions", and as such, one third of what used to be Heaven's infinite population was dragged by one leader, called "Lucifer", not "The Lucifer", because the only one who is "The Morning Star" is "YaHuShua HaMashiach", "Salvation The Savior". Everyone else who is "Lucifer" is not "THE", only "a Luficer".
    The problem, though, is that the one "Lucifer" closest to "The Lucifer" became blinded by prided, and of his own free will, chose to rebek and drag as man as he could to do what he wanted, until he inevitably fell from Heaven, or in other words, lost his spiritual position of a morning star because he chose to remain in the fall rather than changing, repenting and rising to the occasion, which is why, now know as "Void" in the spiritual reality of videogames, is now trying to destroy everything with subliminal things within videogames, so much so that when things regarded as "surreal" or "absurd" start to become the norm in society, people will ve so spiritually numb and blinded that no one wil question the dangers of beings that are not of this world. When The Beast system is implemented, some will be so dead inside that it will take miracles for their salvation, and it will happen for some, but not all, and that is the concern that The Lord has.
    It all comes back to Him, even from topics that seem, by far, distant, and I just pray that whoever reads this, may come to the understanding that having faith in God, praying and repenting is a must, so that the world does not end up completely rid of spiritual life.
    God bless you and have a wonderful rest of your time.

With how creative team SE has been over the past decades, would anyone really be naive enough to believe they would put out a game with remake in the title just because it's a remake? As someone who does not believe in alternate universes and absolutely detests their being added into stories which never had them in the first place, to have the entire FF series be connected via multiverse theory (as opposed to being completely separate CANONs) would turn me off to Final Fantasy entirely. Why? Because multiverse theory implies that NOTHING is unique. And if nothing is unique, then EVERYTHING is expendable; there'd be no reason for me to care about anything that happens in any Final Fantasy story ever again.
    That, or I'd just refuse to accept Stranger of Paradise and other FF games with multiverse theory as canonical (Death of the Author crossed with fanon discontinuity).

    • @liansmith4038
      @liansmith4038 3 роки тому +2

      Frankly speaking, I don’t see how alternate universes make everything less unique. Yes, there are an infinite example of a certain variable, but each one of those examples are very much different from each other in more ways than one, making them unique from each other.
      Not only that, but it can breathe new life into pre-existing materials and stories- say we have a story exploring the concept of “superheroes.” While the first story plays the trope straight, we can have an alternate universe dedicated to deconstructing the concept, which in turn allows for one to attract new interest in the older work, but to also provide richer thematic depth and meaning to said older work.

    • @jonah_da_mann
      @jonah_da_mann 3 роки тому

      @@liansmith4038 Sorry it took me a while to respond. About this:
      The reason why this is such a problem for me is because infinite universes implies that every conceivable difference has an entire universe dedicated to it. Ergo, we have no reason to care whether somebody dies or not, because somewhere out there, there is an alternate universe wherein they're alive and the only difference is that they ate cereal instead of pancakes one morning.
      This is what I mean by "nothing is unique." Sure, there are an infinite number of universes wherein the differences are significant. But there are also an infinite number of universes wherein the differences are so insignificant that they don't actually make any difference/uniqueness at all.
      I also disagree with the idea that alternate universes allow for different variations of a story to be told. Because what's the point in using a pre-existing story or brand if the new story you're gonna come up with has absolutely nothing to do with the original?
      If the only way you can keep a franchise going is to have the plot start over in an alternate universe (or undoing things with retcons and time-travel, etc.), then face facts: it's time for your series to END. Retire the brand. Build an entirely new IP from scratch. This is part of why Hironobu Sakaguchi wanted each individual Final Fantasy game to be it's own self-contained story/canon, by the way.
      If all you have left to play is the "what if?" card, then frankly, I'm not interested in your series anymore, because I don't want to get invested in a continuity that isn't going to be of any actual consequence.
      There's a reason, after all, why the word "consequence" is also a synonym for "important." It's because: a story which lacks any consequences is a story wherein nothing the characters do matters. A story wherein nothing the characters do matters is, by definition, a story without conflict. And a story without conflict is an oxymoron.
