What’s so interesting about all of this to me is that my great grandmother’s youngest sister disappeared in Six Rivers National Forest on a family camping trip. The only thing ever found was her clothes, neatly folded and set on a log. I always thought it was a story unique to our family but now I understand otherwise. Spooky!
My husband hiked and camped all over the Appalachian and has done the same for the last 3 years here in Alaska. The stories he and his hiking/climbing friends have are crazy. I will stay safe at home😂

I had an incredibly similar experience that Ben had @30:00. I took my then girlfriend (now wife praise God) to Joshua Tree for the exact purpose of looking at the stars at night, something I've done many times in my life. We waited in Palm Springs, ate good food, and I continued to hype it up during the 45 min drive out to the desert. We finally got there and got out of the car and started to take in the scenery. After MAYBE 5 min, I felt the hairs on my neck raise up and for the first time in my life I felt a sense of panic / dread that something was not right and made us high tail it out of there. It was quite anti-climactic after waiting all day and until listening to this episode I thought I was alone in this experience. Great episode, as always, fellas. God Bless!
@@mallen6035I have and it’s probably the most terrifying episode from any podcast on the web. Joshua Tree, 29 Palms, Amboy, CA are all huge “nopes” for me. ✨️Portals✨️ thats how they move so far away so quickly. I've listened to some of the missing 411 stories from MrBallen. I went down the Missing 411 rabbit hole a few years ago, and though I’m entirely open to the supernatural, Bigfoot, giants, aliens, ghosts, etc., the whole thing struck me as a bit of a sham. Very, very loose correlation between these cases, other than the fact that people go missing out in Big Nature. Between getting lost, animal encounters, dehydration, hypothermia, injuries, and encounters with some bad folks looking to do bad things…that kinda covers most (maybe all?) of these cases. I got the impression that certain facts were cherry picked, while others were completely omitted, in order to crank up the “spook” factor. And it works. It gets clicks, and it sells books. I don’t have an axe to grind here…but as someone who already went down that rabbit hole for a bit and came up empty, just be cautious.
I lived in an area (city) where weird things would happen. At a friend's house, dishes were clearly pushed off of the kitchen counter, far away from where they were placed. At a different friend's house, the sound of car tires screeching on the pavement, a crash, then a loud splash. This house was directly across from a large ditch. We all heard it and investigated...nothing. At a house I used to live at, same area, shadows would appear in our hallway. It truly was weird. I'm a skeptic at heart, so of course, the questions I asked were that of what natural explanation I could find for these events. Well, now as a Christian, still asking questions, I firmly believe that demons are what were behind these events, not ghosts or haunted moments stuck in time, playing over and over like a scene in a movie or something. There is no other explanation I have found.
For those who enjoy and go hiking, camping, backpacking and hunting like I do from time to time into the woods, never go without telling others where you are going. Leave a detailed plan of where you will be and for how long and what you plan on doing. And never go into deep woods without packing some heat. Spiritually, well always be in constant prayer and communion with our Lord and God Jesus Christ and you'll be fine.
So true about that gut feeling! I was almost trampled by a wild horse at cumberland island with my two friends and i had this feeling we should quickly get off the trail. Not 2 seconds after we stepped off thw trail a horse came racing down the trail we were on.
From the Pangaea maps I've seen Britain & Ireland were up along the east coast of Greenland. The Appalachians were more connected to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Maybe you've seen differently? If so I would be interested in viewing the maps you're looking at. Such an interesting subject.
So I just finished this episode, the kacey Hathaway case was in my families hometown of Ernul, NC. This happened just a few years ago. This actually happened. sheriff Hughes which is the current sheriff for craven county released a statement.
The people just "going mad" made me think of the story of King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel chapter 4. I wonder if something like that could answer the why to some of these strange stories.
I think it's more than plausible that people practicing witchcraft, necromancy, etc will be more prone to possession, so if the wilderness has hotspots of demonic hosts, it only makes sense they are getting possessed in the wilderness. The Bible has multiple stories of demonic possessed people roaming wilderness areas outside villages.
understandably, some of the details in these cases vary depending on your source, BUT I've never heard this version of the "Robotic Grandma" story, and I've heard it told probably a dozen different times from different perspectives and slightly different facts. EDIT: Maybe I have heard this one and just forgot because all other versions match the facts told by the boy himself and his family. The child from the "Robotic Grandma" story, came forward maybe 5 years ago with his sister and grandma. The "Beyond Creepy" UA-cam channel did an outstanding job telling his story. I just remembered, "Missing Enigma" actually outdid that by travelling to the campground where the family stayed, hiking to the exact GPS coordinates where the boy, named Dakota, was found, even did a rudimentary search for the supposed cave where he was taken by the "Robot Cappy". He did not disappear soundlessly from a campfire but was playing with his sister and other children from the campground when one of them yelled "rattlesnake!", or maybe just " snake!" causing them all to take off running. Dakota, being the youngest or at least smallest couldn't keep up. I can't remember if the kids immediately turned around to look for him or how much time lapsed from then until the search began. I
I've literally never said "take my money" faster than I did when I saw that shirt and being able to join (from Canada) the conference next week. I will rep your faces with style if by the grace of the Lord I am in the first 20.
FYI that the family in your last story have since come forward publicly. I forget their names, but I’ve seen an interview with the grandmother, the lost boy and his sister.
I did a little more research on this-the family was interviewed as part of an episode about Mt. Shasta for the Travel Channel series “Into The Unknown.” The grandmother’s name is Kathy, the boy’s name is Indiana, and the sister’s name is Sarah. It was covered in a video by the UA-camr “Missing Enigma” is his episode on the case if you are interested in learning more.
There’s some phenomena I’ve heard of called “Call of the Woods” or “Wild” or “Void” or “Deep.” They all seem to be similar. Basically, a person exploring the wilderness (including divers) just get a feeling to wander off into dangerous areas in a trance like state.
Great show again. A little unnerving to think, as a grandmother, I might have a doppelganger. Also, any mention of giant spiderwebs, and I am oughta there!
Pisgah has “unscheduled” thunderstorms every day all summer. We used to live outside Asheville in a small area and you could time the thunderstorms all summer. Also lots of witches there.
I have to concur on the feeling of dread and oppression. Driving over the Great Smoky Mountains I had a distinct feeling of spiritual oppression; couldn't wait to get over and out from under the trees.
I was solo camping at the Galveston Island State Park a couple of weeks ago and had one of those I’m going to die moments. I chose a campsite in a field and I was the only one in that area (dumb ik). It was my second night there and arrived back at the park just before the gate was locked for the night. I was on the phone with my mom and carrying a couple bags with me. It was pitch dark and so quiet. Once I was in the field and walking to my tent I started to feel uneasy. I stopped and swung my lightning all directions to see if I was being followed. No one was in sight. So I took a few more steps and stopped dead in my tracks and squeaked out a “mommy”. I was frozen and broke out in a cold sweat (it was still 85’) and filled with overwhelming dread. I knew without a shadow of a doubt in that moment of I went to my tent I would die. I knew I would die in a horrible way and it would not be fast. I turned around and ran back to my car as fast as I could and locked myself in it. I immediately left the park and drove straight into town and got a room just in case I had been followed. The next day I went back to get my stuff and my chair was knocked over and tangled in the guide string of my tent as if someone had been sitting in it and jumped up in a hurry. I had no doubt I made the right decision in leaving.
Here’s a thought about the naked woman crawling up the side of the mountain wailing: what if she had been raped and was desperately trying to escape her attacker? I’m not discounting the fact that people might lose their minds in the forest, but it disturbs me that the man searching for her chose to turn tail and run rather than to try to help her. What harm could an unclothed, unarmed woman do to him? She might have been demon-possessed, or she might have been half-crazed with terror.

I remember someone telling a story about a Cow-man (probably What Lurks Beneath). The young child referred to Bigfoot as a Cow-man. It's a pretty lengthy story and just 😳.
A cougar mom would carry the child for two reasons: 1) Her maternal instincts took over. Mothers of almost every species have mothered other species, cats and ducklingss or chiekcs, dogs and kittens, and so forth. 2) She may have had a litter which she was trying to teach to hunt and so she carried this child to where she had last left the litter or to near where the littter was. My first guess was eacgle, but sinc the child said it was a "kitty", I'm sure it was a cougar.
Back in the 1970's a girl friend of mine asked me to help her shut a portal in Redfield Arkansa. She explained how to walk throught the portal and warned me not to turn around when you walk through the portal. If you look to the left or right the portal will close. So when you walk through the portal don't turn around. You have to walk backward asap to get out. So anyway I told her. NO. And even 45 years later, my answer is still NO.
From Oregon though I now live in Georgia and I have friends from the Chiloquin or Klamath reservation which is on crater lake. This area has had more Bigfoot sightings and myths then any other area, even Alaska

There are rules for locals in the Appalachian Mountain’s because of all the hauntings, portals, big foot, dogman, ancient spirits, witches, etc. etc.
1) If you hear something, no you didn’t.
2) If you see something, no you didn’t… do not acknowledge or try to communicate in any way!
3) Do Not whistle!
4) Do not go outside after dark, and keep your blinds/curtains closed after dark.

My nephew ran away at age 2, was found outside of the neighborhood and when asked why, he said he was chasing a cat.
You guys are awesome. Keep em coming.
So true about that gut feeling! I was almost trampled by a wild horse at cumberland island with my two friends and i had this feeling we should quickly get off the trail. Not 2 seconds after we stepped off thw trail a horse came racing down the trail we were on.
As a fan of the Lore Lodge, I feel this episode will be filled with pain all the way through.
Thankfully the fellas aren't giving each other foot rubs in this episode lol
1:23:41 I thoroughly enjoy Ben’s inclusion of random calculus or scientific terms! They’re like Easter eggs in every episode! 😆
You guys should try and do a guest appearance on Ninja’s Are Butterflies. Would make a great episode. They’re how I first heard of this show
I didn't know they had mentioned us. Would love to collaborate some time.
I believe David alongside you two as guest on the Right Response Ministries podcast would make an awesome podcast.
I'm surprised you guys didn't mention possession as opposed to them losing their minds. Seems like a likely alternative.
Don't forget, the Appalachian mountains and the mountains in Ireland used to be connected in the super continent of Pangea.
I guess Morocco was connected too. I tried to send a link for a map but yt wouldn't let me lol.
*Me, seeing the shirt at first glance and thinking it has gnomes on it* Ooooh, I like it!
*Realizing it’s Brian and Ben* …Oh.
...even better?
As opposed to bears and wolves, cougars can get the dirty work done silently
I think some of these types of stories might be child abductions where the kidnappers get cold feet or are afraid they have been discovered.
understandably, some of the details in these cases vary depending on your source, BUT I've never heard this version of the "Robotic Grandma" story, and I've heard it told probably a dozen different times from different perspectives and slightly different facts. I
AMAZING SHIRT HOLY MOLEY edit: Just signed up to patreon
"Someone walks up saying Hi How Y- FULL MAGAZINE I AM THE REASON FOR MISSING 411 😂
I re-watched Ben’s“hwaunted cosmorse” like 3 times haha gave me a good laugh.
I have to concur on the feeling of dread and oppression. Driving over the Great Smoky Mountains I had a distinct feeling of spiritual oppression; couldn't wait to get over and out from under the trees.
The fact that this came out less than 2 weeks after I ran into a wolf on a hike. 😮
Your audio quality is top notch
Ok but can you please start selling those shirts in your shop lol
Very soon!
Me alone at night sleeping in my car. While watching this 🤣😭😂
I was solo camping at the Galveston Island State Park a couple of weeks ago and had one of those I’m going to die moments.
Daaaaaaang! Glad you made it out ok; that's intense.
@@hauntedcosmos_ thanks! I’m so thankful for the warning from the Holy Spirit.
I'm only here for the neologisms from calculus and other advanced maths, keep em coming 😂
I said unbelievable when I read this but even more unbelievable is that anyone would admit to doing this
Yes part 2 plz!!
Dirac delta function - used in automatics, constitues of enabling high state of an input for infinitesimaly short time close to 0, used to determine response of systems to a singular impulse - you're welcome
The benefit of watching on UA-cam for the first time: I can finally tell who is talking 😅
Please sell this shirt on your store! This is amazing!!!
When we bought our first house my wife and I just lay down to sleep and hear this trickling sound on the stairs (we have three boys) and indeed one of our sons is sleep-peeing down the stairs.

"I got news for you. If you want to find yourself, I can already tell you what you need to do: get married and have babies."
So true -- thank you for saying that ❤
Love it
I remember someone telling a story about a Cow-man (probably What Lurks Beneath).
Survivorman was awesome!
From Oregon though I now live in Georgia and I have friends from the Chiloquin or Klamath reservation which is on crater lake. This area has had more Bigfoot sightings and myths then any other area, even Alaska
