I just completed a 6,000 mile US road trip in my 2021 Model 3 SR+ Over 13 days of driving (July 10 through July 31, 2022, with time in Kentucky) from Sacramento CA to Louisville KY and back (with numerous side trips), I drove nearly half what I drive in a year. The final analysis: Wow. This is definitely a road warrior vehicle, despite so-called “conventional wisdom.” I am still plugging in metrics and numbers, but I estimate about 60 charging stops. In all those stops, I only had ONE 5 minute wait, at Glenwood Springs, CO. One. 5 minutes. I’ve waited longer in a grocery store line. I drove through and charged in major cities (LA, Amarillo, OK City, Little Rock, Memphis, Nashville, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City) and countless small towns and wide spots in the road. Typically, I was either the only one there or one of two Teslas. My typical stop was 20-25 minutes. Enough time to have a short walk about, use the bathroom, grab a bottle of water, and then get back on the road (the breaks, and auto pilot, assured I’d be rested and relaxed after hours of travel). Weekdays, weekends, rush hour, nighttime, huge supercharger (50+) or small (4), interstate or blue highway… I drove and charged through them all. No cherry picking. ~60 superchargers. 6,000 miles. 13 days of driving. In July 2022. One wait. 5 minutes. I can’t speak for others. But a complete success in my book.
I lived in China from 2017-2021 and i do miss the Chinese EVs. SO many different options from both domestic and international companies. They had some great things going on in the market.
I’m in China now. Was waiting at traffic light literally one hour ago in my ID.3, and noticed a Lincoln Zephyr left to me. Remembering it as a stunning new model from Shanghai Auto Show (which I visited) last year, what strike me was how - “regular” (bland was the word that was about to slip away, but that was not the case) - it looked in real life compared to a freshly delivered Nio ET7 waiting behind it. Now, the Zephyr is a still a very good looking car, but it’s hilarious that in just one year it had lost its edge design-wise in the sea of ultra stiff Chinese competitions. It’s a fun time to car spot in China today. You always run into something unknown as new models are hitting the road every other day that our knowledge is constantly rendered obsolete.
Guys I really like that you review the car as a car and not with rose colored glasses that it's a EV. Finally we get to see how a car really is not just what it is. Thanks for the review.
30:50 It's the Federal Police. They set up these checkpoints along parts of the border to Austria and Czech Republic in 2015 when refugees started to illegaly cross the border. By EU laws refugees have to apply for asylum in the first EU state they reach, but states in the south such as Greece and Italy were overstrained with thousands of refugees every day. When the refugees saw that there is no future for them in Greece and Italy they decided to go north and try to get asylum in Germany, Denmark or Sweden instead. All these three countries quickly set up checkpoints at their borders and Germany and Denmark still have them to this day.
Another awesome road trip video.... hope you guys will hop over to The Netherlands and take an EV through the country! Let me know and your Dutch fans will come together and buy you coffee and Dutch McDonalds 😂
I really would love to convert my US Model 3 with amber turn signals! I'm in Germany quite a bit I wonder if I purchased a replacement set of rear lights and switched out my US ones they'd work or is software controlled?
The CCS is sideways because the Chinese GB system is more like old Leaf where you would have the Chademo and a type 2 side by side. Chinese TESLAs also have two sockets under the cover. In China it is a roadtrip car because they have charging everywhere plus any car with charging over 90kW is above entry level. In China 80kW charging is standard on the more affordable vehicles. Charging speed goes up with price.
Great job Jordan...... China doesn't like to show it to the world but it has a huge population of people with very moderate income.......Good car loved the Nürburgring video.......lol
Kyle, in Europe and regarding the BMW with M badge it doesn't mean it's a M car. It means it has the M line version which is an official cosmetic upgrade. Same happens with AMG line. Example I own ecoupe 250cdi amg line. Meaning bigger wheels, body kit and few interior beautification.
Here in the UK, if our car starts telling us to "keep looking forward." We'd give it 2 fingers, tell it to eff off. And then put tape over the camera. That is absolutely ridiculous and far too invasive.
maybe you should compare a Chevrolet with a Rolls Royce and then you can joke about the American car for once. What were you thinking comparing the Model X with a cheap EV? And is it necessary to say that the autopilot and speed of the Model X is better? I guess we kind of expected that already.
The traffic splitting when queueing is to leave the middle free for emergency vehicles. A standard thing in Austria and Germany.
Not only in germany and Austria, also i slovenia
Also Belgium
In Australia when there is traffic, we get as close as we can to other cars so they can hear us when we yell profanities at them.
28:50 Yes, it's an emergency corridor. Leftmost lane goes as much to the left as possible and every other lane goes as far right as possible.
And theres fines for not obeying to this
And if you want to be restrained to public transport for a few months you take this lane to get ahead faster...
It was so much fun having this roadtrip together with you guys! Can‘t wait to start the next ones 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Actually not bad. It'd be nice to have some of them Chinese EVs come to the States, we need more EV options here.
"Please take a rest," Jordan. What fun! 😅

Excellent video Jordan very fun to watch
Good one Jordan. The rest of the clips ended up in the bottom of a deep beer glass at the garden!

Imagine crossing a vast ocean to visit Nederland and ending up with McDonald's 🤢 Get the poor man a stroopwafel at least! 🇳🇱
My Saturday is made! Love a good electric road trip
Gaaah. I could have been going 130 through Austria… must read up on that for next time.
Thanks for the review on Aiways.
Really enjoyed this trip video :) Hope you keep them coming from Europe!
Great job Jordan!
I really would love to convert my US Model 3 with amber turn signals! I'm in Germany quite a bit I wonder if I purchased a replacement set of rear lights and switched out my US ones they'd work or is software controlled?
And the rear fog light!!

Great niche bro. EV cars are the future
13:52 "let's figure out how it all works"
Split second later, TADA driving away! Lol 😂
That is amazing. That you would use the expression "Chinese firedrill" and then not even think about catching it in the edit.
Hi Guys. You should check out the MG's also chineze, same pricecategory like the Aiways.
Funny that the car tells to look in front or stop smoking and no sleeping!......but it doe's not see that the driving lights are not on😅
AWESOME
I like the new logo/ intro!
Almdudler is my favoritt drink, jesus christ I really need to taste it again.
Kyle has some serious competition on UA-cam now. See video called "Animalia's Orangutan Rambo loves her electric car".
Looks like nio outside

No More LEDs ins the Doors for all vehicles manufacured after April 2022. Silent Feature removal, as usual with AIWAYS.
If you get a chance to visit China and try their EV's , you will be surprised
Hot hot hot summer in Europe,, 😅
I almost bought the New Aeros, but man I loved to Martians better
Sounds like the AIWays is competing with the ID4.
Definetely, it comes way better equipped than the id4, for 1900€ more you get the full specced option and its stille 10k cheaper than the id4
Comparing a model x to the Chinese car hardly fair , as at likely 3 times the price . Speed kills
what is your glasses' brand?? plez
You hardly see any trucks at all...interesting.
Only disappointing bit was going to McDonald's, was there no authentic Austrian food?
How do we get the amber indicators on the US Model S and 3?
All that giggling, sounds like someone has been sampling local weed
Can you tell us more about those aero wheels on the m3?

E mehari review please.
Remember USA large distances with no borders little to see between stop points in comparison to europe

How can you cross an ocean in a Tesla! Crikey!
Performance motor for a rwd M3? Where, how?!!! Real question… how much?
Kept ignoring solar arrays poor filmmaking.
I don't like the Tesla
this show would be borring if you did everything in colorado, like you say you can 🤣
Chinese cars …. Nope
Tesla is made in china so?
@@sheenasmith4555 yes there is a giga Shanghai , I bought the us made duel motor long range model Y and I love it .
