You can trim a small piece of plastic on the support cover protecting the rear camera so you can see the tow ball on screen when reversing. Or remove the plastic all together.
I upgraded my suspension front and back, adding electric Red arc brake controller and adjustable air bags to the rear. Additionally I added another automatic transmission cooler in the grill, auto transmissions don’t work well when they get hot. The tow bar is rated at 3000 kilograms with 300 kg maximum weight on the tow ball hitch. I don’t tow anything heavier than 2200 kg, steady driving and good weight distribution makes safe and efficient travel possible.
My late stepfather had a Prado that he put about 300,000 kilometres on. Living in Victoria he towed his big caravan up north many times. He loved driving the Prado. I fully detailed it after he passed away so it could be sold. It came up looking amazing inside and out. I would have bought it myself but I didn’t like the rough idle of the diesel, it improved after about 15 minutes but initially it was too rough for my liking. I now have a CX5 and that is so quite on idle I barely know it’s even running.
Thank you for sharing your story. They are great vehicles and dad loves his Prado. I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s dad. Mazda are constantly improving their offerings. A bt50 maybe on the cards in the future for the channel
@@NorthOz wow, that is indeed amazing fuel consumption! I wasn't sure because it sounded too good and I was already concerned this would be unladen, that's really good to hear, thx
Yes did you hear the guy beeping his horn at 1.44 minutes trying to get past. Paul from Car Expert did a whole segment on towing with the Toyota Prado. It was deemed not suitable for towing anything over 1500kg. The Prado completely failed towing a 2000 kg boat up the M1 freeway hill at Gosford.
Nice to see DAD again, very real thoughts of dad about Prado.
Confort and reliability
Take care
Thanks Mohamed, dad said hello!
@@NorthOz Big Hi to Dad

I’ll let dad know. We might get on that 👍

Thanks for your honest review ‘Dad’. What van is he towing? he seems quite happy with it.
Dad is towing a 2022 new age road owl. He did a walkaround of it here: ua-cam.com/video/K-WNXT-_f_M/v-deo.html
1:25 Is this while towing or not?
Hi mate, it is while towing 👍

They are dangerous for towing anything bigger than camper as way to slow, won't keep up with traffic, I was glad to see mine go
