I’ve watched all the other you tubers vids that were on this trip, they were all cool but your commentary and camera work/editing I enjoyed the most. Nice work mate.
Thanks mate!
Agreed its definitely one of the best from the trip
Some really good footage... Nice....
A Sunday favourite
Damn you Tyler Thompson! I used to sleep in on Sunday mornings but you vids are so good, I'm up first thing to watch the latest.
Cheers mate!
Dad continues to impress. Hope I'm doing as well as him at the that age. All credit too him!
He who goes 1st - puts his c on the block, gets credit, anyone after is soaking in 1st's glory
Love the vid's - keep it up
Cheers mate!
Yeah mate great vid, loving the collab also.
Love it Tyler! First thing to do on a Sunday morning is to watch your videos !
Another good vid mate. Love seeing the Nav in action.
Glad you enjoyed
I went through Barrington tops years back and didn’t even stay a night. I regret it now would’ve loved to do a few days in there. It was the eeriest place I’ve been there was dense fog and no bird sounds just quiet. Very eerie. Great video
Yeah its an awesome place, definitely have to get back up there!
Mate your camera work really brings the viewer into the environment. Love it
What a great collaboration
Barrington Tops, one of my favourite 4WDing & camping destinations. Those muddy tracks brings back many memories of my own trips there. Note to self: Gotta get a winch.
10:09 Such a good shot!
Thanks for another great vid!
Cheers!
Always surprises me how capable that MUX is
It seems those specific Nissans (Navara) are not that capable in comparison to other offroaders. I think they were eliminated from 4X4 magazine test for offroader of the year for the same reason (from memory). Iuszu is a good car, but some of them had problems with their gearbox, and they have a weak cv.
Good variety of vehicles...loved it
Great episode. The nav was certainly challenged up at Barrington. Nice cook up too 👍
Wow, gotta love this area...
Great filming, especially them low angle shots of the vehicles going through the water bogs...
The shots of the Firs with the foggy background looked awesome. Great to see the Nav back in action...
Another quality vid, well done. 👍👍
Cheers mate!
G’day Tyler,
Another great vid. Love your low key commentary with good tips, quality shots and good sound.
Got a tip for big logs that won’t pull…..wrap the winch line around the log 3 or more times and lock off on its self or a branch. As tension comes on the line, it bites down with little load at the fixing point and rolls the log.
Won’t move everything but it’s a handy manoeuvre.
Say g’day to your dad for me👍
I've had day runs turn into night with socked clothing and mud All through the vehicle 🤣. The game can change so quickly 👍
Hey Tyler, hope you and the family are well ! That shot of the vehicles lined up at the "Firs" was grouse 👍 great timing with the lighting, fog etc 😀
Cool video thanks Tyler. I watch the Outback Equipment and TJ's video so it was great to see yours also. Keep up the great work mate
🇦🇺Cracker of a video mate. That was some mud. 🇦🇺
Good outing Tyler little bit different having company good shit thanks 👍✌
Thanks mate!
Should have moved the first tree with the winch to the side if the track using a snatch block. Heaps easier!
Amazing!
Love to see mits alloy trays
Nice to see a variety off cars good video mate 😎
Damn awesome video Dude! Great Crew, cool rigs, challenging tracks, it was really enjoyable to watch.
Thanks mate!
Awesome mate, looked like a fantastic trip up there 👍👍
Thanks mate!
Your crazy bro I know how cold that water is all year round .. Even 40 degree day the water is freezing lol. Barrington tops is a great spot
Nav really due for a front locker, great video as usual.
Awesome content you guys never let me down, keep up the great work team 🍻
Cheers mate
Another great video mate!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can't wait for a chance to get out and explore the Barrington Tops, it is such a beautiful area. I'd planned on going up ANZAC long weekend but the weather was aful.
Its an awesome place!
Hi Tyler, great trip by the looks of it and good video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good video mate ,the mux is a capable rig !
Thanks mate!
Awesome video loved it 👍
Thanks 👍
Can't even begin to know how hard it must be to do different content but you do it well mate 👍 🏴
Thanks mate!
Awesome video and a couple challenging tracks. Good thing no mechanical breakdowns
For sure!
Awesome
Alternate names for video “teaching tj jack how to 4wd”
“Taking my shadow (tj jack) off-road” 🤣🤣🤣
Another epic episode I always look forward to your vids Tyler a real mud fest and another one pot wonder I think you didn't needed the pasta can't wait to see the Patrol in action 😂
Thanks mate! haha
If your driving ability was better your vids would be boring.😂😂😂 just kidding, awesome footage🤙🏽🤙🏽 good to see the nav back in action.
TJ definitely has a better approach angle which seemed to help. I’d be interested to know what both weigh for comparison as his does seem to hold the weight abit better. Both super capable for touring rigs full loaded!
Yeah TJ has a much better suspension set up then me which makes a big difference I reckon!
Great vid, i still prefer watching the nav.
Let's get one thing straight, I hate mud!! But I enjoy watching others wallowing in it. I've heard using a garden soaker hose, the ones with the holes in them, helps clean the underside of mud. I Always enjoy your content mate👍👍
Thanks mate!
Noice vid.... some hard tracks :-)
40:51 in and Tyler dose the 4wd247 Orchestra music with slow motion edit.
Would love to go up to Barrington to camp. I assume there would be places for me to go with a completely stock standard Prado and minimal experience? Love the video too
Cheers mate, yep definitely is!
Awesome content mate, heading there in July, try out the new canopy and RTT, hopefully get some snow too !!
Sounds awesome mate!
Gday new to the channel. I can’t believe I haven’t stumbled on it before. Bloody good content keep it up👌
Just wondering where you got that epic hand saw from? Cheers mate.
Cheers mate! Silky Boy hand saw, got it from Drifta
I have always rated the MUX myself coming from Ute driver.
"i'm only cooking for myself here so I need to chill out" followed by more and more and more food had me rolling laughing
That was good 😂
@@TylerThompson90 yeah, we've all been there. It's way too hard to cook a small enough meal for just one person! Plus, after you're done, nobody says 'that was so delicious' 🤣 What you cooked looked great btw
front locker and some work on clearance and you won't need the patrol, TJ nav made it look easy out of all vehicles there
You always find the sick spots 👌. What would be cool is if you could tell us the temp/how cold these swimming holes are that you always find on your travels.
Interesting to see how handy twin lockers are. Why has TJ's Nav got more clearance? I'd go white Nav because Australia is hot most of the year. The unique thing to this channel Tyler is the swimming even if it's cold. I love that.
If I recall correctly TJ's Nav has 35" tyres, while Tyler's has 33", and it looks like TJ has a bit more suspension lift, too.
Yeah TJ has 34 inch tyres and I have 33 inch, he also has a full 3 inch superior lift kit whereas I only have 2 inch lift kit which I reckon has sagged a bit too
@@TylerThompson90 Thanks for clearing that up guys.
Nice video , those tracks are messed up pretty bad these days NPWS will probably have them closed up soon.
Yeah majority of these tracks are in the state forest section, National parks already gated off basically all the tracks in the National park section lol
Who was in the sr5 hilux?? Do they have a channel??
What tyre pressures are people running to be dropping beads all the time? Surely it makes more sense to run a bit more pressure than lose a bead.
He was running 15 and ended up running 18-20 after that happened. 15 normally okay with good mud tyres but not really all terrains like he was running with thinner side walls
@@TylerThompson90 that makes sense. On Maxxis MT772s I found the sidewalls were hissing air when pressed against ruts at 15psi. I've never gone below 18psi except on sand since then.
Great video Tyler, one of my favourite in a while. Which way did you get in to the tops from home?
Cheers mate, went through Woko National Park and up through Tomalla
Geez Boyz you had some twists in your recovery gear that's not good
Driving thru water logged tracks like this only gives ammunition to those calling for the closure of tracks thru our national & state parks.
Not a good look Bro!
What? a couple of bog holes in massive a state Forrest gonna shut down some tracks? Surely not
They do shut most of them down over winter, plus the main road in from the east is shut and has been for 18 months due to a landslide. The national park is 200,000 acres, a few harder tracks for people i have fun on is not a problem.
How much mud did you take back home? It woudl probably take the best part of a day just to wash it all off. Definitely looked like a wet weekend. But still loads of fun by the looks of things. 😁
Plenty of mud got taken back home haha
Do you guys ever use truck claws?
what breed of winch are you running?
the black nav, what wheels is it running?
there low key nice af.
great quality shots and we'll edited !
looks like some great tracks along through here ! very lush forestry !
oh yeah this bog . u really dug yourself in with the angles and no front locker didn't help at the worst part ..
jeeze the track is one massive rut now ! definitely cleared out that bog hole tho!
nice water falls and camp setups ! looks like a great adventurous location !
I think it would be interesting to see the Patrol on some of these tracks at the end here cause it has solid axel haha yeah u just said it need the Patrol !!
You should return in a filthy gq with 40 treps
Far out old mate in the black nav needs a driving course or two 😂 don’t even talk about knackers in the luxy geeeez, hard on the gear and bugger all idea
I enjoyed the video but I really do not like mud! The trouble I have found with being immersed in muddy water is that it leaves sand and grit between the drum and shoes on the rear drum brakes and just wears the drum and shoes away.
Yeah mud aint the best for your 4wd but just one of the obstacles out the bush when exploring and challenging yourself, isn't always a way around it
You should not own a 4wd if you don’t like mud!! Just buy a Mercedes SUV
In your previous video mate you said that the mux's is running on 265/70/17 or 31.5's right?
265/75/R16 mate
Choice bro
Tell that bloke black utes are for mall crawling not the bush 😉
What’s that unit on your dash, thought you had a Garmin Overlander but they’re a different colour
Hmm do you mean the scan gauge? I've never had a Garmin
All those thousands of dollars of mods and missing one of the most basic mods a rear recovery point
Most of the time his exploring by him self (solo vehicle)
@@unmentionable4383no not really I've watched plenty where he is with his dad
Great vid, my only question, why (what looks like) punnishing the rigs in the ruts, when it appears you could straddle the ruts and not get all that underbody drag and also not apply a side torque on tires and wheels, as risk debeading the tires?
Yeah there is no way to keep out of those ruts mate, the ruts start about 100 metres before we started filming and just not possible to stay out of them due to multiple obstacles on the way and the whole way being extremely wet and slippery. You can also get in some pretty bad/dangerous situations trying to straddle ruts on steep and slippery hills, in the ruts is safe.
Has TJ got a body and susp lift ?
Just suspension, 3 inch superior I believe
No tow points???
That's what I said
As someone with a much less capable vehicle where I have to walk and stick-poke every little puddle in case it has a soggy middle, I do find myself baffled that your shoes seem dry and maybe you're doing the stick test off camera or some of the holes are ones you know well. I guess the winch gives more capacity to just wing it, without one I basically need to be pretty sure that I'll either get through or can recover with just air and tracks, so have to test every hole, could be 3 inches of black water and gravel base or two feet and slop. With the deeper holes you do where you'd be wade-testing up to your thighs, really don't know if there's a show stopping rock in the middle until you send it, unless you did wade everything, which seems impractical.
What are you talking about?
Definitely did not send it
Love your channel but like other 4wd shows a do really hate the cooking segments. I always skip forward these parts as I just wanna see pure off-roading
Do you wish you had the patrol on this trip
Definitely would have made the tracks much easier
Where's the Beef? Did anyone smuggle in some steaks?
👍UK🇬🇧🇬🇧
And why you got cars on the wrong side of the bollards at camp. Poor form.
It was just a seperate section, not a no camping section. Relax dude
@@TylerThompson90 the bollards are clearly there to stop vehicles even if camping allowed.
Presumably because vehicles kept destroying the good camping areas. There is always one who thinks they are exempt.
@@qksmith chill dude
Garbage diesel Td42. Not enough wheel speed for mud, need the mighty 4.8
Plenty of power not enough revs?
