- Hey everyone!
Welcome back to another video. In this one we head to the Barrington Tops National Park in NSW up to the Great Dividing Range with our caravan.
We hike in the Gloucester Tops and Gloucester Falls where we unfortunately lose our DJI Mavic Air 2 Drone in the waterfall.
We take an icy cold plunge in a freshwater stream before warming up around the campfire at Camp Cobar.

Nice bit of our country side. So sorry the drone gave up. Chelsea your really giving poor Brice heaps about it. It was not his fault. Lithium batteries do not do well in the cold. Lucky you are not driving an electric car. The cold dip was a killer laugh. No way would I do it so good on you. Love the laugh at the rocking. Remember "if it's rocking don't bother knocking".

The drone was rated to -10° so a shame it failed
Wouldn't like to trust the electric cars like that...

Love it up there .. most of our camping trips as kids were in and around that area 🍺🍺
Loved the video guys, over here in Britain some of us belong to a Bluetits group which is a chill water swimming club, we swim all year round, the water now in July is positively tropical at 19 degrees but earlier this year it was only 4 degrees. You either love it or hate it, once you get used to it it’s amazing I can’t wait to go in at Xmas when it’s frrrrrrreezing 🤪

Hi trust us the water in summer is still freezing. If you get a chance drive up to Mt Sugarloaf specky views from there but don’t tow your van safe travels .

Such a shame about the drone! The lithium batteries do not like the cold! Usually DJI warns you if the battery temperature is too low though :(

We’ve camped at Camp Cobark in June, and we were too chickeny to get into the water. The Barrington Tops area was almost our backyard in our younger years, with so many weekends spent up there, always tent camping. Even in the summer, the water is very, very fresh! There isn’t a bad time to explore there.
We’ve loved your episodes of your adventures around here; it’s great to see it all through someone else’s eyes (and lens). We’re looking forward to see where you end up next. Happy travels 😍😍😍

Another great video, the drone probably died off cold with the blades running pushing so much cold air onto the body of the drone it froze up the internal system, hope that makes you feel better, looking forward to next video. Happy Travels 🤗🤗👍
That could have been the case, the drone is rated for -10° so it shouldn't have! It is 3 years old too which probably doesn't help 🤷♂️

Hi from a subscriber. Another great light hearted entertaining production. Sorry about the drone. Do you know what can kill camera batteries at will? Yowies, it looked very squatchy there too. I hope DJI will help out.

I know about losing a drone lifty falls in Tassie too deep raging rapids and winter freezing water to dangerous retrieve
It's not worth getting in and risking it thats for sure! Especially when the water is soooo cold! 🥶
I had a DJI drone do a similar thing. Wrote to DJI for warranty and they blamed me!!!
It’s a common error with DJI if it was one.

If your drone was DJI, you might be able to claim it on them. They seem pretty generous when it comes to hardware faults. Good luck.

We have an older van that I will have to install one. Is it worth doing?
Absolutely worth doing! Ours has a ticking from the pump but it's not too loud, but such a valuable addition for when free camping in cooler weather 👍🏽

@@CaravanAdventureAus maybe, mine did the same thing in Cobar, on a 0c morning, went up and then went from full to empty in seconds and just landed, had no control,

I've had a pretty good run 3 years with the same one 👍🏽
With the others have seen drones replaced for that kind of error

shame about your drone. the mid north coast has a lot to offer. its a shame you missed shoal bay and seal rocks. hope you get a chance to see the areas like crescent head, arakoon, woolgoolga, illaroo etc. so many great spots.
Yes unfortunately we did miss seal rocks by accident but that’s for next time 👌🏾
If it's a dji drone they have been known to replace it if it's a drone malfunction.
