    Fantastic comparison. Just when I think I'd prefer Blue, I keep coming back to Red. There's something about it's growling presence that keeps sticking out to me. Thanks for the demo.

    I let out an audible "whoa" when you held them up. I didn't know they were going to be HUGE! :D

    I dig your reviews. Love W&C. I love fuzzes. Not a fan of this pedal. In either flavor. But you you're playing so I'll watch until the end. Adding the bass was a nice touch and you should pull it out more often - and not just for fuzz.

    Blue is definitely the winner for me. Theres a fullness to it thats well balanced to the grindiness more so than the Red, which sounds a lot more splatty to my ears. Both sound great, just different flavors of the same good.

    I think the blue would be fine for rhythm guitar and bass in a general context, you'd have to pick the context for lead.

    But now I need you to compare those to the black-violet and small foot!!!!

    • @DemosInTheDark
      @DemosInTheDark  3 роки тому

      black violet is the same as the blue. the difference is purely cosmetic. small foot is the same as the red. again, just cosmetic! 💪

      @@DemosInTheDark you don't think the resistor and capacitor change made any difference in the little guy? I'll have to snag one!

    Significant differences between these two, but neither was clearly superior to the other: in fact, I found myself changing my mind frequently. I don't much like the Muff, I have to admit. It's not really a fuzz and not really a distortion, and it's hollow in the mids, which is where guitar is strongest. Although as you demonstrated it does have a range of sounds, it stamps its own character on all of them. For guitar, I prefer a 'proper' fuzz with better tone controls and more forward mids.
    It works for bass because that's less of a problem. Even then, I think I would want to blend the effected signal with the clean signal to firm up the note and boost the mids. Fuzz bass can be very cool. Fuzz-wah bass next!

    Would like to have had more single note sustain . That is, after all, what it says on the knob to the far right. (I don’t think I have Ever seen a Big Muff demo or other fuzz pedals’ that mimic the Muffs do that - I don’t know why, as a major draw to the Big Muff is the singing sustain). Thanks for the demonstration, however. I don’t mean to sound negative at all as you definitely demonstrate the differences between the two however - regardless how slight that may be. Thank you for your time. God bless you. 😊🎸👨🏼‍⚕️🎸. 🫶✌️♾️

      Incorrect. The blue one and the black and purple one are identical. The red one is based on an earlier circuit.
