I really like how that third caster wheel on the back is powered! That is a big help to keep the front tires from digging up the lawn it turns so easily.
Yes it does!
Yes, that is the big advantage comparing to LUBA with 4 drive wheels who tear my lawn so bad!
@@zhipengcui6544 Yes, the tank turn is good at tearing up the lawn.
I’m glad to see a sunseeker Orion X7 video. Thank you for posting your video. I’m excited to get my Orion X7 up and running, it snowed yesterday but it will melt off today and tomorrow. Typical Utah spring weather.
I'm glad you found some value in this video. You are going to love watching this bot cut your grass!
If the Robomower can avoid a hose lying in the grass, it is already way smarter than the Neighbor kid who cuts my lawn.
Funny
The robomower never gets distracted by texts or snapchat posts =)
I would never allow any kid, other then your own, to cut your yard. One injury and your financial life can be over with the way people sue these days. I don't care how good of friends you are either. When that hospital bill comes, you'll see the friendship go!
Since you've had a opportunity to test both the luba 2 and the Orion X7 which would be your choice?
I have the original Luba “1” without the vision system, so I can’t directly compare.
After some additional run time on the Orion I will do a comparison video.
How much of your 3/4 acre lawn was it able to mow before it went back to the charging base?
It was able to cut about 1/4 before requiring a recharge. My lawn is a very complicated shape with lots of obstacles, so results will vary. That said, I would error on the side of the plus or pro if you are close to the acreage cutoff.
I've been waiting for this one!
I hope it was worth the wait.
Excellent video. Did you try to set up different zones and different times? If so was it hard or easy? I am getting the Orion Plus which is supposed to ship end of May.
I have not yet, I plan to do that in future videos.
Did you give up on the Luba or going to have both running? Apparently the Luba 1 is about to be discontinued since the Luba 2 came out. Pretty slick with the one back wheel so it can spin to any direction easily.
I’m running both, Luba and Orion.
Lawn Engineer.....another really great video, you are on a roll! I do have questions though.
Did you buy this mower, or was this supplied to you? Good for your viewers to know.
Is there an option to "save" the obstacles so it can create its own "No Mow" zones? It seems like it takes a lot of battery to figure those out. If it has to do it each and every time, I think they could improve that. It would be great if there was an option when the mow is complete to show you the "No Mow" zones it created on the map and ask if you want to make them permanent or if they should be temporary. For example, if a kid left their bike on the lawn, you probably don't want to save that "No Mow" zone, but for your flower beds and stuff, that would be great time saver, so you don't have to manually create the "No Mow" zones.
Might just be my perception, but it looked like it might have been easier to navigate to create your boundaries...maybe the way it turns...maybe it goes a little slower....maybe you are getting to be a pro at navigating mowbots...maybe all of the above. LOL.....did you notice any difference?
Build quality looks pretty good, pricing seems good, for the moment seems to compare pretty favorably with the Luba 2. Not sure if SunSeeker has had other bots before this, and not sure if there is a history of the company providing service, and regular updates. The regular updates on the Luba seem to be a strong point. The SunSeeker also does not seem to have a replaceable battery, but neither do either of the Luba's (but the Yuka does).
This one needs to cook a little more.....very curious to see how this pans out for you.
This mower was supplied by SunSeeker. The three wheel steering is easier to navigate than other that tank turn.
I’m not sure about service but they are building a dealer network according to their website.
The vision system does feed into the map and automatically create “no-go” zones and update the map. It is getting more efficient on its cutting pattern with each mow.
Hi, I've noticed that youve reviewed many brands of robot lawn mowers. I have a square and flat lawn, I'm having a very hard time deciding on which brand/model to buy. I thought I had it narrowed down to either something from Husqvarna or Mammotion Luba 2, then I found your video about the orion x7. In your opinion which would be best for a square flat lawn? I dont have any budget , I just want something reliable and something where I wont have to be dealing with repairs later on. Thank you.
That is a difficult question because they all have their good points. I have one more mower on the way with LiDAR, after that I will do a comparison video on all of them.
One thing to narrow it down, what type of grass and how high do you like it cut?
How does it compare to the Luba 1 that you have? How do you think it compares to the Luba 2 which added vision? Thanks
Each mower has slightly different attributes. I'm still gaining familiarity with this one, watch for future videos.
what happened to the Luba ? Is mower still alive ?
The Luba is still doing well, just wanted to review another option.
How does it open up? Is the battery user replaceable?
It’s not made to be user replaceable, but I’m sure it can be. I’ll poke around and plan a future video on the topic.
did you purchase this mower or is this a paid promotion review? also your grass looks the same after it's gone over it, which is weird. how about running on some higher smooth well grown grass next time.
I have two update videos here:
Robot Mower Comparison - Luba AWD - Orion X7 - Dreame A1

ua-cam.com/video/g3sMhuNGdjw/v-deo.htmlsi=8caNOZnLTqnj5nVN
It was early spring while filming this video, so the grass wasn’t growing much.
Sunseeker sent me the mower but they did not pay me. A paid promotion involves a cash payment.
@@TheLawnEngineer do you have one for yourself, is it worth spending this much money, yet? i feel like we're closer to getting a real autonomous mower, but my gut tells me this is still NOT the one
Buen empacada
Thanks for leaving a comment.
I don't know... I am still very attached to my Luba 2. I prefer the 4 AWD, 8 blades and all the awesome app updates that Mammotion released. I even invested in a eSIM with T-Mobile and fixed potential outages. Great review. Interesting machine.
This is another solid option, but you already have a great machine.
Was interested in a Luba 2 but I heard it could lose location under dense shade trees which I have in the summer.
How long did it take to mow your .75 acre area in total?
I would suggest not buying the Sunseeker Orion X7 mower until they work out all of the bugs. Right now, it leaves a row of uncut grass between zones. It leaves over a 6" gap between the mower and the edging or home walls. It loses satellite signals constantly.
I agree, they have made some software improvements since the beginning but there are still opportunities.
I have a newer comparison video here: Robot Mower Comparison - Luba AWD - Orion X7 - Dreame A1

I also have another update video on the X7 here: Sunseeker Orion X7 Update - Cut Quality Fix - Battery Replacement

The local distributor near me mentioned a $300 discount. Worth asking about for your area too
Great to know, thanks for sharing 👍
Two questions. 1 do you like this better than the Luba 2? 2. Is this able to get underneath your trampoline ok?
I have the original Luba without the vision system, so I can't directly compare. It is able to get underneath the trampoline, I just shot some footage for a short and was very impressed with it going underneath the trampoline.
Oh nice. Do you have a link to the trampoline short. I’ve been looking for videos to see how they handle trampolines because that’s my main reason for wanting one but I haven’t had any luck finding videos

Can this mower mow at night? Also do you know if you are able to order a replacement battery when the time comes and replace it yourself. I found out that this is not that case for the Dreame A1. Also does the charging station need to have good view to reach the satellites? I know the RTK does.
No it can’t mow at night because of the vision system.
The battery is not advertised as replacement but I’m sure it is. Look for a future video where I take this thing apart.
The charging station does not need satellite visibility.
