    Great video.
I have an automower 430 and love it. It does a slope of 34 deg if i remember the number correctly. In the steepest spots if it struggled we put snow fencing mesh down and then seeded to give the wheels something to grip. In case that would help your other areas
Also a tip learned after four years with our mower: as it ages or as you do yardwork you may find the line breaks. A small electric fencer is the most efficient way to find and patch the breaks!

It is always funny to me when people don't quite see the big picture. Like, one solution to traffic is everyone driving autonomous cars so that traffic can be tightly controlled or coordinated, but a better solution would be a robust public transit system so that you don't need to drive at all.
When I see products like this it makes me think that the problem isn't mowing, it is the lawn itself. I recently replaced my grass with a mix of fine fescue, clover, and creeping thyme. The fescue is slow growing and deep rooted, meaning that you only need to mow it once or twice a year and never need to water it (once established of course) and the thyme and clover help pollinators.
I also replaced 1/4 of my lawn with prairie grass and prairie flowers and plan to never work on it again

I’ll study the type of herbs that you mentioned and add it have a different landscape. Thanks for commenting.
Also, very clever approach to the issue and particularly, great lateral way of thinking. Houston tx

Newer Robot mowers are now using GPS rather than a boundary wire. That is the way all mowers should go.

Interesting. I have a lot of slopes in my yard, so probably not for me. This does seem like a really good option on the market.
Funny thing, I just saw this sitting at the bottom of a hill in town. Bottom of a HUGE slope. Owners must not have read directions 😅

Love your channel, and have started integrating a lot of ideas in my yard.
    Couple questions about this product.
    1. Can you set it on a year style schedule? I live in Wisconsin, and wouldn't want it to run if there's 3 foot of snow on the ground. Lol.
    2. You said it can do up to 8 acres (I have a little under 5). Do you extend the boundary wire with wire nuts? Or how would that work?
All in all, looks like a great product (so far). I'm allergic to fresh cut grass, and can't do a lawn alternative due to my zone. I'm really interested to see updates on this as time progresses.

I’m not sure about the year schedule but, I know you can remove the scheduling feature so the mower does not mow at all until you re-enable the schedule or manually send it to mow/edge.
And yeah, you would need to extend the boundary wire. So this mower works off a boundary wire compared to others that have no boundary wire and use GPS of some kind to stay within your taught zone. They both have their pros and cons, so it’s really whatever works best for you is the best option.

Mine died after a couple months - the replacement they sent died after two weeks. Nobody has expected me to send it back, which tells me this may be a known dysfunction. I wish it was not app based - it needs to be independent of an app, and have a hard reset - all the functions could work without the app, and the app just gives a false sense of functionality which it fails to have. Save the $$!!

Is it water proof to leave outside in the rain.

    • @GreenTechTown
      @GreenTechTown  Місяць тому

Yes, but if it detects rain, it will route itself back to the charging base.

By the look of your yard it’s only saving you about 30% of your work. I’d like to see it work on a full yard of grass

I totally get a product review, but encourage you to consider an alternative to lawn. Depending on where you live, there are different native species that you can integrate into your lawn and let them take over.
This year, I did "no mow May" and ended up doing "let it bloom june" and then i was on a roll with "knee high july". I don't know what August or September are other than something like F it at this point. Will never mow again.

@@BubleSwag i do not. otherwise, i'd complain when they run their sprinkler systems in the rain on their huge lawns 🙄
