    It takes great courage to remove oneself from victim mentality, mostly because we are so stuck in that dynamic, where as children we might have actually been victims with no way out, but as adults, we must take responsibility for childhood traumatizing repeated patterns such as being stuck in victim mentality. We are free to be free 🙏🏻
    And sometimes that means setting ourselves free 🔑

    Brad, I've 'known' you for several years now and have learned to turn to you when I am swamped. It's uncanny how you always have the right words to soothe my anguish. I'm a senior, being evicted due to rezoning of my mobile home park. Housing prices and rents have recently doubled. Poor little me! I have been retelling the story and whooping it up in the biggest, blackest pity party ever. I've decided to be excited and look forward to the biggest changes and most hopeful prospects of my life, beyond what I can even imagine right now. 🤸🌟🏡

    Hi Brad, firstly I must thank you for posting these videos. I was fortunate enough to experience energetic healing & I was told that I have victim mentally. This was first for me but it made so much sense. When I look back at my life I realise all my decisions have come from this way of thinking. But NO MORE! I am doing this tapping daily and I'm choosing to be empowered. Thank you Brad

    Hey Brad, you've been so generous and helpful with all your videos. And some that you've recommended to me have kinda helped me to get deeper into the underlying cause of me circumstance. Anger, frustration, lack of recognition, feeling undervalued, intolerant of fools, impatience, being a victim, these are all above one word that is finally registering/resonating with/for me. That is, the feeling of being thwarted.
    Computer/Technology/gadget/ rage; road rage, personal clumsiness rage, troll rage, what ever the slightest trigger that disrupts my direction or plan rage. I deliberately use the rage word here because it is a sudden, uncontrollable, kinetic anger that flares up the instant I feel thwarted. I'f the trigger is non-human then the anger can result in destruction of the thing triggering the anger. If the trigger is something caused by a human other than myself, then either I verbally explode, or I go all passive-agressive and simmer in wrath until the anger subsides.
    So, what do you have for dealing with, feeling constantly, daily, thwarted by everything and anything around me?

    I have been a victim throughout life" pushing that huge ball up hill with my hands tied behind my back", as my brother said.
    People deal with circumstances not of their making, born into toxic families,rape, pillar and plunge, are in toxic marriages, endure children who disturb lives, abuse abounds.
    I pray, use EFT, get body work, practice yoga, chant, hike, meditate, express creatively finding outlet for being a victim. When people in your family damage, it is excruciating.
    Thank you!

      I think this is a really neat way to implement mindfulness because it allows you to deal with unpleasant feelings without the anxiety and feelings that you've been suppressing that doesn't allow you to be mindful - if that makes sense lol. It really does help - because I find I "obsess" over thoughts and no matter how hard I try to ignore it - it somehow keeps on coming back - and tapping let's me deal with why i'm thinking that way and to accept the thought and then the cause and make changes to it - so now when the thought comes again - I allow myself to feel uncomfortable knowing that I'm improving and not judge myself or get uptight about it in a downward spiral. Anyways I definitely want to implement this as a daily routine. Thanks Brad for your videos - I am so happy I stumbled upon them - you're making this world a better place through your videos and helping people whom you haven't even met :) God Bless.

    This is the only video of yours that I haven't liked so far. I like the intention behind the video but not the wording-I got the feeling that you weren't completely comfortable with the wording you were utilising either(if you were then you wouldn't have had such a long disclaimer).
    I would have preferred focusing on taking responsibility for yourself and your actions. No matter what way you explain it 'playing the victim' comes across as victim blaming.
    But hey I guess it would be a miracle if I liked all of your work and I really do appreciate your efforts ❤️

  • @brightchange6065
    @brightchange6065 6 років тому +1

    I wish the word "Playing" on the title and video could be changed. That sounds like, well, play - if you get hit by a car, you ARE a victim, you wouldn't be playing or acting like one. Playing is acting, pretending. Feeling like a victim feels better to me. II like the language later in the video that being responsible for myself is not saying that I am to blame for whatever happened. Thanks!

  • @krisvictoria8810
    @krisvictoria8810 3 роки тому +1

    I think it would be a great idea for you Brad to redo this video. There are many things seriously wrong with it. You can do a lot better as you have expert knowledge. The content of this video seems to reflect a limited understanding of the human psyche and makes offensive statements/affirmations placing blame and oversimplifying things.
    Do you think its as simple as that? If someone has been victimized either once or repeatedly that means its easy for them to blame others and they are deflecting responsibility???????
    I would also be cery careful with using the term "playing" victim. Are you invalidating what truthfully happened to people? Do you think they are acting or faking it? There are plenty of people in the world stigmatizing and blaming victims. Its like getting stabbed twice.
    Would you like to rethink this?
    Thanks

    • @tapwithbrad
      @tapwithbrad  3 роки тому +3

      I hear you, Kristina - and I'm sorry the video came across that way for you. I certainly don't mean to suggest that no one is ever actually victimized - far from it. The Trauma and Abuse video would be more appropriate for many of those cases. But sometimes some of us fall into learned behavior around feeling/behaving like a victim where it may not be necessary or helpful. Unfortunately, no video I make will be right for everyone - or in all situations. I certainly make no claims that I"m an expert or that I always get it right. But as you can see from the other comments, the wording in this did resonate with a number of folks. I don't know if you tapped along with the whole thing, or if it felt too off-putting to do so. A second listen - especially to the beginning - might feel different. And maybe not. As you might imagine, if I tried to word videos in such a way that no one could find fault with them, I'd have no videos here. I hope you will find some of my others beneficial.

    • @krisvictoria8810

      @@tapwithbrad thank you. I appreciate it. I have found all your other ones beneficial. I still disagree with the term "playing" the victim in all the different fields of psychology it is currently being used in as it is harmful in many ways.
      On the other hand i agree with you on that it would be impossible to please everyone. It is also not nesessary nor expected.
      Thanks for all you do :)

      @@krisvictoria8810 To be honest, I'm not wild about the expression either... but I used it as the title because it the term that is used so often that it helps folks know what it's about.
