Darkest Dungeon II - New FREE Game Mode 'Kingdoms' Coming in 2024

Kingdoms is a brand new stand-alone campaign game mode coming to Darkest Dungeon II as a free update in 2024. Protect and nurture your Kingdom by defending a crucial network of safe havens and purging dangerous environments of insidious threats. Players can upgrade Inns to bolster defenses, embark on unique quest lines, and fight back against 3 new monster factions - The Coven, Beastmen and Crimson Courtiers. Kingdoms adds new layers of persistent strategy and sacrifice.

This looks amazing. Especially with the new enemies, I’m incredibly excited. I love the base game but this looks like it may be closer to some of the elements of DD1 which I’ve been missing.

This is good because the base story’s gameplay loop is too repetitive with a guarantee of a party wipe from the mountain boss by finding out the guaranteed hard way. Might just mainly stick with this game mode.
