How about a video of "HOW TO SAVE TIME IN YOUR SAVES" Most of us are already spending too much time on it, we should learn a way of playing without losing all our social life
It's a save I always do. I've designed a whole crest, kits and 3d kits just so It looks as authentic as possible! Of course, out of all things I always just end up doing a vanarama to prem lmfao. I do always recommend a journeyman to break up the pace of a 1-team save.
i agree, but the create a club *feature* is garbage, i always use the pregame editor for that. you can cusomise so much more and make it so much better and more immersive
@@pangallagher6222 Yeah. I feel like create-a-club has a looooong way to go before it is fleshed out enough to be worth using over the editor. One thing I do with they'd bring back were the old actual preset challenge saves you could do. I think FM14 was the last game with them in. There was one where it stuck you at a team in the bottom of the league at Christmas, one thst gave you a group of 'wonderkids' and then forced you to win the league with them in your starting XI. They were all pretty fun.
Musterman is how I play FM and it can be an absolute nightmare with terrible scouts in lower leagues. A lot of bad players have joined my team but it makes it so much more rewarding getting a player that can dominate
Same here! Training reports and ratings earn you a spot in the team. Form determines if you keep it. Scout reports get you signed. Playing blind is playing best.
Zealand forgot probably the most important one, the Head coach save, where you are the coach of the team and nothing else, your director of football handles transfers, contract negotiations and all that.
Load FM does a series based on that. I’ve tried it before and I usually make one alteration to the rule set. I add A rated scouted players to the transfer targets, if the DoF can do a deal great if not you move on. I think it makes since as if you had a load of A rated players scouted you would normally sign them.
@@-Lenny_ Yeah that's how I do it too. Like a real head coach would alsoctell their DoF they'd like those players but whether you get them or not is upto them. So if I really want a play I'll ask my DoF if they can sign them but more often than not they don't.
A great save idea is in Scotland. So Dumbarton a team that is currently is the 4th division of Scotland won the first 2 Scottish League titles all the way in the 90s. 1890s So here is your job, regain Dumbarton's Scottish throne from Celtic and Rangers. The win condition depends on when you stop having fun, so it might be your first win of a Scottish Premiership, might be when you establish dominance over Scotland so win like 5 leagues in a row, or do a treble. The loose condition is simple, if any team besides Rangers and Celtic wins the premiership before you do, you are done. Go do a different save. P.S. - For me I just had a save with Elgin City so I don't feel like going back to Scotland.
@@pangopango3939Also if you get there and manage to dominate the old firm only for Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen go on a mad run and win the league. That’s just brutal luck. Shouldn’t really stop the save for that.
Something I've been doing this year is basically, creating real-life players (either retired, or by removing them with the pre-game editor), and playing out their hypothetical manegerial career. Currently I'm playing as Ezequiel Lavezzi, started at Estudiantes (his RL first club), and then simply played from there - I had hoped to visit his clubs in order, that sadly didn't happen, but the end goal is simple - In his case, win the CL with Napoli. And of course, his coaching staff is players he played with IRL - My assistants are Cavani and Hamsik! I started a similar one with Yaya Toure, but it didn't have a clear end goal in the same way as Lavezzi did. It's reignited a lot of fun into FM for me!
Another cool save is finding a custom league database and taking over your local semi-pro team IRL I did it in Australia taking Macarthur Rams (team I played for growing up before I realised I would never make it pro) to the A-League from about 4/5 divisions down. Were even some guys I played with growing up in the save across the divisions which made it really special
For years I've been chasing the most beautiful person I've ever seen from my dreams. Today I found him. Zealand it is an honour. The Adonis of my dreams. The Johnny Bravo of my heart.
Fun save ideas for everyone is try managing outside of top 5 leagues. There are 5 continents full of national leagues, cups, various iterations of champions league. U might even fall in love with a random country like i did in my Vanuatu save. And uwill never have the opportunity to buy the same players as in europe if you are in another continent your repuation is so low and its a real challenge
I have an idea for a save. It is similar to the director of football, but the opposite. You are only the manager, you just go to the games, and do the training. All of the other stuff, like buy and sell players, it's a task for the Director of Football. With that, you will be forced to play and work with the players that your director of football gets to the team. I think that it is a nice challenge.
This is the way I normally play, the DOF sources all the players but I do get the final say, also the DOF is responsible for all incoming offers and he has the final say so I never know if he will sell my star players
Personally I love the game, but I love more my mental health. It's too much an addictive game that makes you lose the sense of time, requires so much dedication in order to win. So now I just watch other people play it.
completely disagree, hired a good staff with good assistant couch and gave him all the responsibilities, I pick the team and tactics, can play while working, won 2 leagues with arsenal and 2 champions league.
you guys do know its just a game? and that you can turn it off when u feel u spend too much time on it? i mean you cant complain about losing time in a game when its your choice to play the game lol
Christmas is how I normally play and I’ve had some great saves out of it. I also like the scenario you can download which removes all contracts so you have to rebuild your whole squad but every other team does the same.
We used to that with my mates on championship manager pick 4 clubs between us.. never used clear the all the clubs but all the big ones . Madrid utd etc... and we all used to battle to sign players.. great fun
I've done two things to really love playing FM again. Director of Football, and signing 30+ years old players. Those two saves has saved my FM-playing mood :) DoF - Sign an Assistant to be the "first team coach", including tactics and everything, and I'm the DoF outside the field. 30+ - I can only sign players that has turned 30 years old. This forces me to rethink my approach and tactic every 2-3 seasons, and it's really fun :)
I recently found out about this game and been watching a lot of your videos and have been waiting for this game to go on sale, hopefully. Keep pumping out the great videos.
Great video and I see you are trying to show how people can get creative and play what I call non-Vanilla FM. I only play FM in a joint save with one of my friends. We always start off with a Vanilla save on every new FM but after that we play around with custom universes as it makes it very fun. Our most recent save is in Japan where there has been a fictional takeover of all the clubs, increasing reputation and budgets hugely. We have done a few seasons and now plan to leave our clubs and take over other clubs in Japan to try and topple our previous powerhouses.
I have a save idea, it's a weird one and I don't imagine there will be many people who would find this fun but it starts with picking whatever team you like and using whatever playstyle you like with them. Then, each season create a new manager and assign them to whatever team you like, use the IGE to max out the managers stats and give them team they manage loads of money, set the staff responsiblities to give almost everything to staff save for match day stuff then relinquish control of them as you progress through your next season you can watch as they rebuild the team. It's good if, like me, you struggle to decide which team to manage yourself and/or you'd love to see certain teams succeed in a save beyond your own. I've got the English leagues db and even though I manage in the German leagues I'm currently watching Great Wakering Rovers and Wakering Sports FC battle for the Essex Senior League trophy, they're 2 tiny teams from the village I was raised in and it is genuinely quite a lot of fun watch them move up the ladder. I've also seen MK Dons and Southend United play European football on this save which is just wild. You could also just use the pre-game editor to start all of these teams off in the topflight if you wish but its more about the journey for me!
Last week when I was home sick I decided to start a new save in Italy. But instead of just heading in I simulated 5 years and took over Pescara. A decent team in Serie C with a 20k capacity stadium and ok facilities. The end goal is to make an Italian only team that can challenge for CL. To get back up and established in Serie A I allowed myself to sign players from other contries (can't sign non-eu players in Serie B and C). The save is great fun! We won the first season in Serie C with 99 points and are currently first in Serie C with a few points after 24 games (no idea what the other teams are doing..).
For anyone in comments saying the game is too time consuming etc, I strongly suggest you try FM touch on one of your devices. I used to play FM on PC but due to having a kid and other commitments I don’t have the time. I have been playing the touch version since February and honestly can’t complain! It’s in depth enough for you still to be fully immersed but takes much less time to get through and to load between days plus being able to play on the go helps a lot, currently in 2031 with a Wrexham save and absolutely loving it
Thing is, you can do a chief Scout simulator save. Just delegate all responsiblities other than scouting (including buying/selling players). Dictate your scouting focuses. Once you find a player you think fits the team you can suggest them as a target.
Youth academies save. Like a youth academy only save except its both your own and a few selected clubs perhaps in your region that you can have on your team. I'm going to start one in the Limburg regions of Belgium and Netherlands with Maastricht.
One thing I like doing is pick a bunch of "old" tactics - from literally the OG 2-3-5 or W-M, to Ajax's Total Football, or whatever formations a single club used over a period of time - and then play a save where I have to organically move from one tactic to the next without it destroying the club's progression.
@@RoaringPhilosopher It depends on if you want a "good enough" Total Football or as close to the real thing as possible. "Good enough" is just re-creating Pep's Barca or Man City team and then shifting it to suit whatever formation you want. "Pure" Total Football isn't a plug-and-play thing. You have to micromanage everything, from how each position plays to their player traits and even their personalities. I've got there once, and it was very much a first XI only success.
I know a lot of people don't like international management but I like it occasionally and one I like to do is manage a country that has large numbers of dual nationals then seeing how strong they would be if all of their dual nationals chose to play for them. I would generally only change newgens and who haven't chosen in real life. Sometimes in combination with a club team in that nations main league and build the quality of the league at the same time. Ireland is a fun one but I will branch this one out at some point. This video has reminded me I need a bilbao save in my life before the next FM I have done a fewxin previous FMs and its very fun.
On those though times for Ajax, I'd see a "hypothetical" save where you make all the players who led the team to the UCL semis come back to the club :)
The Bilbao idea gave me an idea: What if you set the youth rating of every country to the same level, or even randomize them some way? That way you’d be encouraged to scout where you normally wouldn’t, since the odds of finding the next Messi somewhere like North Korea are so much higher
Many of these already have a database on the internet or Steam workshop. Most notably the "all players removed from database". You can google, it's mcuh easier than simulating 40 years.
I'd recommend an OgreBall save. You only sign freakishly tall strikers, overload the wide areas and play for crosses and set pieces. You can get a Championship level striker scoring 25 goals in the Prem with the right service
This was my Hearts save in Scotland. Must play 442 with wingers and early crosses. Also must have two freakishly tall strikers regardless of their talent. Eventually got Lorenzo Luca. Ridiculous numbers he put up lol. He's still a total beast in FM24
What got my interest back was starting a network save against my best mate We both started in a relatively equal position, belgian top division with midtable teams With the aim to sort of journeyman our way to success We have just finished our eighth season we're I narrowly avoided relegation with West ham after joining in February. Highlights of the save so far Europa league victory with Middlesbrough a couple seasons back Taking the Saudis to a world cup quarter final Finally getting my first head to head victory against my mate on this save (at the 8th attenpt) with a 7-0 demolition job to practically guarantee survival at West ham And finally taking the Brazil job after leaving Saudi Arabia His highlights include A sacking from freiburg , despite building an incredible squad he could only limp to 8th and was promptly sacked A sacking from Middlesbrough after relegation from the premier league, this resulted in the Middlesbrough glory years where I jumped into the dead man's shoes and brought unbridled success to a squad he deemed shit Despite a better head to head record against me, he has no major honours excluding a couple second tier league wins (series B , Championship) Whereas I have international honours winning the WAFF championship 2x with Saudi Arabia and the aforementioned Europe league win with Middlesbrough As we head into the 9th season I have just left West ham for the vacant Juventus job and I have a copa america to bring back to Brazil Meanwhile he has been rejected by Lazio in favour of Brendan Rodgers and looks set to stay at lower midtable Brentford for the following season
My favourite saves are: Wrexham - Won Carabao, FA Cup, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, World Club Championship, Papa Johns, Charity Shield, Multiple Premier Leagues, Multiple Champions Leagues and all in 9 seasons. One season did the quadruple. Dinamo Minsk - So far in 7 seasons, 20/21 domestic trophies (lost a super cup final), 1 champions league and also was runner up once in the champions league. Only 30 league games a year so can really focus on europe with the league being easy.
For the Bilbao esque save, you can create your own nation by editing an extinct nation, theres videos of how to do this on UA-cam so you can just add a club vision of must sign players of X nationality or players based in X and have that are your default search filter.
King of the Rhine save. Using teams on/near the Rhine, win each league, domestic cup, and European cups. Can stay with one team and win multiple trophy's. However, there are only 2 teams in Switzerland you can use, Basel, and Schaffhausen...
Option 1 is one I've done regularly - use the Create-a-Club setup option and you can delete the squad and get money back based on who you released before the game even starts.
I had a lot of fun (and some frustration) playing the opposite of Director of Football mode - I let my staff handle all singings and contracts and tried to win stuff with the players they bought me. The AI isnt really great at squad building and keeping everyone happy was basically impossible but it adds a different challenge to fit all the random players the AI bought into a tactic that works
The Mustermann skin entirely revitalised by enthusiasm for the game, to the point where I'm actually less excited for FM25 because it won't have a Mustermann skin, at least not right away lol
My save has just got better I left Lincoln red imps after 11 years of success bad some side international jobs like Costa Rica, Poland and Now I'm the England boss.
My favourite save a few years ago was a Bilbao but with Blackburn Rovers. I could only sign players born in Lancashire or developed in Lancashire academies. It was F*****G difficult but it was fun. I got us promoted to the PL after a couple of seasons but after about ten seasons only hot as far as CL knockouts.
A variation of option 1 is create a club. I always do it, usually creating a team from the village I live in. It’s not without its quirks (what software isn’t?). But a lot of fun.
one save i had a lot of fun this year was a journeman save but you leave all contract negotiations and buying selling players to your director of football . how i did was it was i started unemployed and no badges and im only allowed to do one contract renewal so i would go to a club figure out the team make a tactic leave all transfers and contracts to my dof and then just be losing key players or signning players which might be great or just make me go why would you sign him and you gotta use em. I would move clubs after either i get a contract offer from some other club or after i have achieved a goal at my current club which could be a trophy stability a continental trophy or just getting sacked. i think this would be the inverse of the dof save you listed which would be fun for ppl who enjoy the tactical portion of football manager but dont really like scouting or negotiating transfers since i had to use all sorts of systems from 442 to uber defensive systems to succeed at differnt clubs based on there players and then dof plugging in random signings which sometimes are good sometimes bad and sometimes i end up retraining them to work in a different position based on there attributes/traits for my system or shift to a new system to include the new players
Fun tip(s) with Bilbao to HELP make it easier: Players at the age of 16 (or I believe under 18 in general) who are spanish can be signed, and thus converted into basque players aswell.
I'm doing a hypothetical Ecuador save, I didn't buy the editor in time so I couldn't load the league, so instead of having the Ecuadorian league, I bought the editor and just bumped up a few of the good under 23 players potential to start a golden generation, I'm now managing Ecuador and Eintracht. I'm interested to see how this gets on and if I can win anything with them.
I did the opposite way of Director of Football - I delegated all the manager stuff to my assistents and focused only on my tactic It was pretty frustrating while all my good players left the club and the manager bought a championship player to a Champions League team - was a nice experience, something different
I'm currently in a combination of various of this ideas on my current. Picked Hamburg to do a "back to glory"; Only sign players of german descent; and the one that has made it more difficult a Yankee policy:No long hair or beards. Fun times
Not really planned but,I was doing my usual Romanian league save and I scouted a half American half San Marino 18-19 year old DM regen that seemed preety good. Since then I am scouting San Marino at every year in hope that I find the "San Marino Messi". I have 2 players in the Senior national team (the DM is the captain) and 1 at the u21s for now. Quite fun side quest tbh
Hey Z, I always make like the same kind of saves or you know always end up in the same way, a full team of like 170-190 ca newgens by 2030 in like all my saves, which by then I start a new save and do the same thing
FK Altinordu is a great option. They start at 3rd level in turkey and can only recruit turkish players or players who are partly turkish but havent been capped for another country. Great challenge for a Bilbao variant
What really rekindled my passion for FM after a year of changing saves every 2 week and taking long breaks was a youth intake only save starting from the absolute bottom from the country of your choice. (There is a thread on the FM forums which tracks this actually). Now I am not sure how I could go back to scouting and making transfers ever again...
Thats exactly where I am at right now and I have that same feeling, it will be so hard to go back to play a normal save with transfers, scouting and farming
I’ve found that my favourite save is building a lower division club to a financial responsible club. What I used to do was spend too much money and create huge debt for my club. I would have a budget of 100m but spend 200m with player add-on payments. What I do now is i’ve taken both Malaga (Spain 3rd division) and Oxford City (National Vanorama League) to the highest division, but the club must earn money. So I scout for CHEAP talents who I can later sell, and will have to sell. For example, with Oxford, I bought a goalkeeper from Real Betis while I was in the championship. Bought him for 1 million. He was a talent. So I sold him for 70 million 5 years later when I was an established Premier League team. Bought his replacement for 3 million and sold him literally ONE season later for 50 million. Bought a Ukrainian talented goalkeeper from Shaktyar for 18 million and he is now worth north of 70 million. That is what I do for every position. My club Oxford city now has 120 million in the bank and is almost debt free. I have also let the board build a new stadium with 38.000 seats and we have state of the art facilities. I find that Football Manager becomes really fun on those long term saves where all the players are new, so you cant buy the same players every save.
I’d been having this issue and then decided on a Manchester United save where I could only use players from the United academy and it has definitely gone a long way towards refreshing my love for the game
Anyone who is doing that one day at a time save needs to just give it up. Also, I thought Squirrel Plays method was gonna get a shoutout in this video, that really revitalised my FM interest.
I have a plethora of saves with different rules and goals. I simply can't keep only one save and that's it. I have saves where I can only buy young players, or a max fee per deal, a single nationality, rebuilding the whole team with no money, recreate tactics from IRL managers, going lower division to UCL title and so on. Now I'm kinda stopping everything to wait for FM 25, but this rotation between saves kept me playing the game for many months.
I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I've had for a while the idea to do a Bilbao style save with 1860 Munich, allowing only players from Bavaria. The goal is to topple local rival FC Bayern by becoming "the real FC Bayern".
Another one i did was create a club with 12/13 of my friends and family super players. Potential 199 and try and keep hold of them through the divisons..
I've implemented a weekly salary cap on my latest save - this has removed some of the repetitiveness from the game as you have to look a little harder for players.
Press continue twice, save the game and close it until tomorrow😂 that's how real men play FM. Jokes aside, for me youth academy challenge is something everyone should try at least once. You learn so much.
Multi-club model DOF game was one I tried, but I just had too many clubs. I hate how affiliates don't utilise or follow the parent's scouting or style, but it's too time consuming to work through multiple clubs. Wish they had a centralised DoF mode.
I tried doing a save with Valadares Gaia and tried to only sign players that were born in Gaia, it was really fun going to the first league with my academy
The "Bilbao" was something I always ended up on when playing a kinda similar simulating game, Pro Cycling Manager. Always ended up trying to make a Norwegian only squad etc. And I imagine it can be fun within FM as well, but prolly way harder, since you need more people than within a cycling team. Still always had fun with it within PCM at least. Edit: Wouldnt the last one give the full match actually....90+ minutes, and not 30-60 minutes? Cus youre watching the whole match? I'd assume you would want ot make it last and not speed up things. But maybe im wrong on that part.
My save for 2024 (and likely 2025) is massive. Start at my "I was born in this city" club. The goals i then to do a "Glory Hunter Lights" (win all of the traditional top 5 leagues&cups). I set myself an additional challenge of using a new tactic at every club and a tactic that fit the country I was in. (4-4-2 in england. 4-2-3-1 in Spain. Etc.) Win the euro and WC with my home nation. And then make it to the top of the ingame HoF with a club from my home nation, if I haven't already. Using only players from my home nation.
So one save I did recently that made me have a bit of fun was putting a limit on the max I could spend on a transfer. I set a max limit of 5 million (AUD, so it was peanuts) and did a create a club feature in Belgium. It meant my favourite part of the game, finding wonder kids, was absolutely a necessity. And it meant that a big sale was a plethora of new signing I could bring in. The save did get stale cause I hit the peak of player I could get and could only get to the champions league knockouts, but for a good 7-8 season save, I'd recommend it.
I'm just starting FM first time , iK how everything works ,I love the tactical side of football , but the thing is I can't see the players playing I play on mobile , its in 2d how do these yt show us or watch their players play , if I play FM on PC will it be the same plz reply😢😢😢😢😢
In the game, as a football director, I recommend creating a new unemployed manager, using it to enter the schedule of the team we run as a football director, and then clicking to watch these matches. I have fun this way and the emotions are unmistakable when you have no influence on anything and you are playing a match, e.g. for the championship, watching it from the stands and not just seeing the result.
Random Names is a little bit more complex than just renaming the players. Yes, they maintain their Unique ID's (and behind the scenes data like pictures; seeing a news conference pop up on my save for "Neil Rose" and having Steven Gerrard's secondary picture pop up throws you off a little) and in general they're mostly the same, but sometimes their birth dates are changed, or their nationalities are actually different, and the stats aren't always identical. Back in the FM08 days, sometimes the players just got absolutely mauled. I've seen the likes of Pavel Nedvěd, Petr Cech and John Terry "turn into" non-league gripe. On FM22 I've also had Liverpool's Alisson Becker actually be Argentinian, and Mbappe was 2 years older and born in February instead. I've also had players entirely disappear, like Erling Haaland and Alessandro Del Piero. That said, they aren't lying when they say it's "random" I suppose!
Instead of the director of football one you can also do it the other way around. You only do tactics and games. Transfers, staff and contracts left over to the technical director and director of football
I like trying a "you can't win anything with kids" save. You can only have people under the age of 18 at your club. The day they turn 18, their contract gets terminated. It's very difficult.
If you want an obvious "Bilbao" save that i never see people do. Welsh Bilbao. Manage Wrexham, Cardiff, Swansea, Newport or (if youre hardcore) Merthyr. Only sign Welsh players. its hard because obviously small nation but a good amount of Welsh players appear in a UK save
Le NordVPN so you can be safe on your travels nordvpn.com/zealand
Ok time traveller
How about a video of "HOW TO SAVE TIME IN YOUR SAVES"
Most of us are already spending too much time on it, we should learn a way of playing without losing all our social life
New save idea: you must route your VPN to the country you’re managing for the duration of your play through
This is like a dealer making you buy more drugs and give up on rehab.
Just inject the FM directly into my veins....
Even worse
yeah this is like saying, ok you overcame your cocaine addiction and you dont wanna do it anymore. But have you heard [insert drugXYZ here]?
Bro really underestimate the addiction effect of FM
And I’m here for it

I survived until around 4:15 when he started talking about taking players back to their original clubs. That Dortmund save would be awesome
The administration takeover save is a great way to build that world beating team of players with 18 pace and nothing else
A great save idea is in Scotland. So Dumbarton a team that is currently is the 4th division of Scotland won the first 2 Scottish League titles all the way in the 90s. 1890s
So here is your job, regain Dumbarton's Scottish throne from Celtic and Rangers.
To make it fair, the lose condition should only apply when Dumbarton has made the top flight.
I started a similar one with Yaya Toure, but it didn't have a clear end goal in the same way as Lavezzi did. It's reignited a lot of fun into FM for me!
you can play as player?
7:56 Seca and Pawlak got a nice tan in the summer break I see
Another cool save is finding a custom league database and taking over your local semi-pro team IRL
I did it in Australia taking Macarthur Rams (team I played for growing up before I realised I would never make it pro) to the A-League from about 4/5 divisions down. Were even some guys I played with growing up in the save across the divisions which made it really special

Love doing these, or some super modded extreme version of an RTG.
I think that it is a nice challenge.
sounds like the Sunderland model.
This is the way I normally play, the DOF sources all the players but I do get the final say, also the DOF is responsible for all incoming offers and he has the final say so I never know if he will sell my star players
The Head Coach challenge
"Maybe you're just a giant Dortmund fan and I'm describing your fantasy"
I feel called out, Zealand.
Personally I love the game, but I love more my mental health. It's too much an addictive game that makes you lose the sense of time, requires so much dedication in order to win. So now I just watch other people play it.
Yes when i start playing fm i play for most of the time of the day till i get into my senses again
I really think Z should make a video about How to save time in our saves.
We already spend too much time on the game and lose social life bc of it
@@ChesterRGCgenerally just a very time consuming game. Not much time saving skills available
completely disagree, hired a good staff with good assistant couch and gave him all the responsibilities, I pick the team and tactics, can play while working, won 2 leagues with arsenal and 2 champions league.
you guys do know its just a game? and that you can turn it off when u feel u spend too much time on it? i mean you cant complain about losing time in a game when its your choice to play the game lol
Those two saves has saved my FM-playing mood :)
DoF - Sign an Assistant to be the "first team coach", including tactics and everything, and I'm the DoF outside the field.
#1 FM UA-camr
that's a pretty low bar tbh
@@prevara5162 whats the point of ur comment? it literally serves no other purpose than to diminish the compliment
@@n1troni what's the point of your comment?
Pep has played W-M lol
@@thesuomi8550 His version.
How do you actual tell the players to play Total Football?
@@RoaringPhilosopher It depends on if you want a "good enough" Total Football or as close to the real thing as possible. "Good enough" is just re-creating Pep's Barca or Man City team and then shifting it to suit whatever formation you want. "Pure" Total Football isn't a plug-and-play thing. You have to micromanage everything, from how each position plays to their player traits and even their personalities. I've got there once, and it was very much a first XI only success.
the director of football save is pretty much how i've been playing the game for the most part for the last few editions
Director of football sounds interesting. Awesome video!
I'd recommend an OgreBall save. You only sign freakishly tall strikers, overload the wide areas and play for crosses and set pieces. You can get a Championship level striker scoring 25 goals in the Prem with the right service
amazing pfp i have it tatted
Mitrovic save
This was my Hearts save in Scotland.
Must play 442 with wingers and early crosses. Also must have two freakishly tall strikers regardless of their talent.
Eventually got Lorenzo Luca. Ridiculous numbers he put up lol.
He's still a total beast in FM24
@@Weeji_420 Lucca is a beast. I've signed him every year since my first Ogre save 3 years ago. One of the few good young ogres
Love the Hyderabad FC kit you're wearing, sadly the club's gonna get disbanded this season by the looks of it. Need a miracle to save them
What got my interest back was starting a network save against my best mate
We both started in a relatively equal position, belgian top division with midtable teams
With the aim to sort of journeyman our way to success
We have just finished our eighth season we're I narrowly avoided relegation with West ham after joining in February.
Highlights of the save so far
Europa league victory with Middlesbrough a couple seasons back
Taking the Saudis to a world cup quarter final
Finally getting my first head to head victory against my mate on this save (at the 8th attenpt) with a 7-0 demolition job to practically guarantee survival at West ham
And finally taking the Brazil job after leaving Saudi Arabia
His highlights include
A sacking from freiburg , despite building an incredible squad he could only limp to 8th and was promptly sacked
A sacking from Middlesbrough after relegation from the premier league, this resulted in the Middlesbrough glory years where I jumped into the dead man's shoes and brought unbridled success to a squad he deemed shit
Despite a better head to head record against me, he has no major honours excluding a couple second tier league wins (series B , Championship)
Whereas I have international honours winning the WAFF championship 2x with Saudi Arabia and the aforementioned Europe league win with Middlesbrough
As we head into the 9th season I have just left West ham for the vacant Juventus job and I have a copa america to bring back to Brazil
Meanwhile he has been rejected by Lazio in favour of Brendan Rodgers and looks set to stay at lower midtable Brentford for the following season
My favourite saves are:
Wrexham - Won Carabao, FA Cup, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, World Club Championship, Papa Johns, Charity Shield, Multiple Premier Leagues, Multiple Champions Leagues and all in 9 seasons. One season did the quadruple.
Dinamo Minsk - So far in 7 seasons, 20/21 domestic trophies (lost a super cup final), 1 champions league and also was runner up once in the champions league. Only 30 league games a year so can really focus on europe with the league being easy.
The head coach.....where your Chief scout and DOF does everything and you just use whatever they sign.
Ten Hag simulator
@@Alex58399 well how the new regime sounds atleast 🤣
For the Bilbao esque save, you can create your own nation by editing an extinct nation, theres videos of how to do this on UA-cam so you can just add a club vision of must sign players of X nationality or players based in X and have that are your default search filter.
I did a "Steven" save with Stevenage. Obvious rules apply
4:10 you absolutely did
King of the Rhine save. Using teams on/near the Rhine, win each league, domestic cup, and European cups. Can stay with one team and win multiple trophy's.
However, there are only 2 teams in Switzerland you can use, Basel, and Schaffhausen...
Where can i set up the save from 10:00 , i cant find the option , do i just in game editor for that?
Option 1 is one I've done regularly - use the Create-a-Club setup option and you can delete the squad and get money back based on who you released before the game even starts.
I had a lot of fun (and some frustration) playing the opposite of Director of Football mode - I let my staff handle all singings and contracts and tried to win stuff with the players they bought me. The AI isnt really great at squad building and keeping everyone happy was basically impossible but it adds a different challenge to fit all the random players the AI bought into a tactic that works
The Mustermann skin entirely revitalised by enthusiasm for the game, to the point where I'm actually less excited for FM25 because it won't have a Mustermann skin, at least not right away lol
there's also custom databases that clear all players/staff from the database if you want to do that kind of save, makes it way less complex
My save has just got better I left Lincoln red imps after 11 years of success bad some side international jobs like Costa Rica, Poland and Now I'm the England boss.
My personal favourite scenario, and the one I am running this year is the "Assman chaos"
Where only the assman/DOF has control of transfers in.
BVB 💛 everyone's favorite giant slayer.
Does anyone know how i get my hsv 2nd team in the bundesliga 3 because the have no “real” fixtures
One unorthodox save I did was : The land of Giants. Everyone has to be as tall as possible 6ft is the minimum and ideally should be 6’3 and up.
A variation of option 1 is create a club. I always do it, usually creating a team from the village I live in. It’s not without its quirks (what software isn’t?). But a lot of fun.
thanks for sharing, you inspired me to try something new
Shut up bot
one save i had a lot of fun this year was a journeman save but you leave all contract negotiations and buying selling players to your director of football . how i did was it was i started unemployed and no badges and im only allowed to do one contract renewal so i would go to a club figure out the team make a tactic leave all transfers and contracts to my dof and then just be losing key players or signning players which might be great or just make me go why would you sign him and you gotta use em.
I really like the One day at a time idea, but will probably turn it into one week at a time. Some of us don’t play fm as a job 😉
I had this exact thought too, more time available on a weekend to play so do that whole week 👍
I did the opposite way of Director of Football - I delegated all the manager stuff to my assistents and focused only on my tactic
It was pretty frustrating while all my good players left the club and the manager bought a championship player to a Champions League team - was a nice experience, something different
I use to play "The Bilbao" in Brazil, by signing only northeastern-born players for E.C. Bahia. It's fun and challenging as hell
How did you land a Hyderabad FC kit? Haha.. I used to work as a video analyst for them.
They're in quite a bit of financial turmoil.
Singalo if I had to guess
No attributes is so fun. It really forces you to pay close attention to who is actually performing.
I once tried a Scandinavian player only, but I had trouble in the champions league, needed more time to see if better newgens appear
I've implemented a weekly salary cap on my latest save - this has removed some of the repetitiveness from the game as you have to look a little harder for players.
I'm currently playing a save that was previously suggested by Z in a video, winning the league with only island teams
Press continue twice, save the game and close it until tomorrow😂 that's how real men play FM.
Jokes aside, for me youth academy challenge is something everyone should try at least once. You learn so much.
It feels like this is how my mate plays on our network save.
As a Dortmund fan, you literally described my dream scenario
Etc.)
Win the euro and WC with my home nation.
And then make it to the top of the ingame HoF with a club from my home nation, if I haven't already. Using only players from my home nation.
Apparently my current 10 season save is a christmas/scouting savant hybrid save. 😂
My favourite is to play as a top club outside of the big 5 leagues so like Portugal and the Netherlands, Ajax and Benfica are always fun :)
You're describing my BVB fantasy ❤
I'm just starting FM first time , iK how everything works ,I love the tactical side of football , but the thing is I can't see the players playing I play on mobile , its in 2d how do these yt show us or watch their players play , if I play FM on PC will it be the same plz reply😢😢😢😢😢
Super league database is also something new and fun
It’s surreal to see you wear a shirt with Vijay Sales as a sponsor lmao
Watch mustermanns PAOK series zealand. I really think you should give him some credit and use his skin to make a save using his skin.
Can you make a video of the full history of the usl league. All of the history like it's started and were it at now.
Zealand you are my life and joy
What’s the best journeyman settings I want to have a save that I can continue for a while starting small etc
My savior, arigato FM Senpai
I’ve been with Stenhousemuir for a few seasons now and had 3 promotions in a row. Tycoon takeover as I hit the Scottish Premiership and £25m to spend
