The scariest thing when going through the coaches was that two of the ones you picked up were formerly Alex Ferguson's assistant managers and you didn't even realise
Both are pretty famous aswell haha
11:00 “this guy” that’s Brian Kidd a Utd legend who won the European cup in 1968 with them as a player!
And former assistant manager at the club under Alex Ferguson.

It's concerning, but in a good way lol
Zealand - I've been trying out a Head Coach challenge on my save; basically you only handle tactics and training; you let the DOF deal with the transfers in and out (with your minimal input). Be interested to see how you find a challenge like that one!
I'm intrigued, how many players who you fell in love with got sold and how many useless players were brought in to try and replace with them?

'The team isn't big enough to need 2 fitness coaches' - bro didn't watch United IRL this year 😁
The fact Antony has such high stats is criminal
Not really. He is still a decent player, and he would probably do alright in most clubs. Hes flopped at United, but so have many other players, and that club in general is a parasite..
When I watch him, I see some weakeness, sure, but he still is a decent player, and theres more that can be extracted from him, in United, or elsewhere.
@@tdh2044 LOL
@@NJ_Randomyea yea I know, he is a meme, but it’s a genuine truth. Nobody is really shining in that pile of garbage anyway.

Best Tip is when your looking for new staff at the start of the save search for HOYD without a club, with a min of 15 for tec-tac-def-att there you will find newgens that you can sign as coaches for the first team or under18/21 coaches ( your welcome)
What is that music ? sounds like the ending to a really good TV show you just finished watching as the main character walks into the sunset
All songs are by Louis island
Honestly i found the music really of putting and made it hard to watch the video

Interesting to see how you do your coaches. In my Gladbach save, I have a majority English coaching team bc I am English managing in Germany. I like to imagine it helps me communicate with my coaches (it makes no difference realistically). My assistant manager is also the same age as me and can speak fluent German. I like to imagine we are good mates and he helps me with German words. Little things help immerse me lol
I been playing these religiously since 97/98. I’ve spent literally years of my life on these. On steam I tend to get 1000+ hours a year and I’m sure I played more when I was younger than I did before steam
Your next save should be a youth only save or 1 nation/region like Basque. Makes it interesting being limited to what players you can use and more to do with development, tactics and management.
Is it just me or why do i now want a zealand study video where you study while zealand plays football manager with this backing track.
fuckin genius
I was todays years old when I learned that even Z has delegated his press conferences by now.
10:45, wow what an insanely useful tip
I also learned a new thing today!
Zealand, I love this video. 1) It is informative and showed me how much you can hack a team apart on day one, and 2) The music helped my tired pregnant wife fall asleep. Thank you sir, you are a gent and a scholar.
Supposedly it takes 10,000 hours to master any skill, this guy chose football manager
As a United fan this video basically sums up the disgust fans have with the club, ridiculously overpaid players which can’t be shifted caused by poor management above the manager.
This type of board controlled transfer structure to be fair isn’t represented that well in FM and although I think many would hate it, it would add realism for clubs like United or Chelsea.
Can’t be calling Jonny Evans “terrible”. He had an impressive season for us irl
He has all his knowledge from football manager which gives him zero ball knowledge
The hold shift technique is goated, 10 years playing FM without knowing. Thanks for that
Posting this comment without a time stamp is worse than being a war criminal.
😂😂😂
You definitely deserve more recognition for this!
One of my greatest fm achievements was managing to get a fee for martial.
It took two seasons on fm24, I extended his contract (1 year option) to be sure we got a fee, Southampton spent 20 million on him. Absolutely insane. He stuck around the epl for 3 years with them, scoring a hefty 10 goals.
Doing the math at the start made me think of myself and games I played in the past, I used to play COD4 religiously for like 11 years. I left the console on and stuff but as far as I am aware, I put in around 42,000 hours in 11 years. I imagine that about a third of that is dead hours, school / sleeping, shopping, vacations etc.
Doing the math, it sits around 43% of those 11 years were cod4 (2007-18). I would sleep for like 4hrs a day, go to school for half the day (I missed a lot) and sacrificed my social life. Yes, I played other games during this period too, I reckon around 60-70% of my time was gaming (14-16hrs per day on average), usually around 2pm - 4am then all nighters over the weekends.
*this assumes the 42000 number, its slightly less if we use around ~30000 of playing time*
Yes, I realise that this is incredibly sad. I sacrificed education and social life in the process, lost relationship opportunities, friendships and the start of my job opportunities.
Really enjoyed this video. The combination of chill music and Zealand playing FM in the background was nice
Smashed this out of the park, Reece. Really chilled vibe but showing so much important stuff. Hope you're well, buddy.

Zealand: "This guy"
This guy: "Hi, I'm Brian Kidd. Man United legend, who scored on my 19th birthday in the European Cup final for Man United in our 4-1 smashing of Benfica at Wembley and was Alex Ferguson's assistant for years."
EDIT: Look at that, your naming convention for your training schedules is exactly the same as mine.
Really chilled video. Change of pace is nice every now and then
If it makes you feel better you got me curious...and just FM 2015 - FM 2024 I am at 24,153 hours. Here's the really crazy thing, and I am not "proud" of this. I am neurotic and probably insane, but literally, I have never skipped a single press conference (since FM10)
this is giving me a different feeling to the other Zealand videos
The first hour of each new iteration for me is spend downloading megapacks, licence fixes etc. The news that the Premier League will be officially licensed for 2025 should theoretically save some time in that regard.

I really do like this kind of moore "low pace" video. Its wholesome. Would love some moore of that!
Can people remember the Depotivo player Djalminha in FMs past? He always fell out with his club so you could buy him cheap but then he immediately fell out with you as well, he was incredibly broken.

Huddlestone is a player coach, they’ve had this role in the EPL for a while now, it was Paul Mcshane in the past.
I think because he did play for a long stint he’s available in game, player coaches are only available in u21 and below or reserve fixtures I believe.
"I find this guy" Brian Kidd 😂
I liked this format alot. Even with the speed ups it provided plenty of information. Maybe make it a series of some kind ?
Funny that you mention Johnny Evans, because he was the rock in my central defense in my promotion season at Saint-Etienne.
That’s the thing though, he’s at that level, not a team chasing EPL and UCL
Is that Zealand bringing Mike Phelan and Brian Kidd back to United?
A few questions: 1) Did you really only get 1 fitness coach? // 2) What are your goals for hiring coaches? Is it to maximize each column? // 3) Do you not use intermediaries to sell players? In my experience I rarely get actual offers through transfer room. // 4) Do you vary training week by week or is it all templated?
My biggest issue with any given save at the start is that my starting squad is fairly alright for the league, but other players of equivalent skill are 3x as expensive as mine. I don’t understand how I’m supposed tk play the transfer market when even sidegrades to my squad are ridiculously expensive
Z I think one of these for lower leagues could be great! The approach is very different in lower leagues so I’d love to see the process
Louie island has just gained many new fans and I’m glad to be one of them
wasnt expecting such a chill vibe from the video, especially with the levels of hype the streams can get. doesnt mean I didnt enjoy it though, matched nicely with Z focusing on a different scenario from his usual low-level club saves.
16:44, I dont think that's how garnacho looks like
Blasting through your entire transfer budget firing staff is some move. Training is mostly important for long-term development, which can wait a couple of seasons while they roll off their current contracts.
Instead of the 10 minute fastforwarded coach searching, it would be more useful to cut the whole thing down to half minute and tell what type of coaches you are looking for.
I always leave my diddy staff in place until the better ones are ready to sign. They'll still accept mutual termination.
19:30 i always spam friendlies in preseason (every second day), particularly in my first season when I want to build tactical familiarity and build player relationships (also builds form/momentum). I honestly don't know if it's better to train than just play the players into fitness but it's what I do
Calling Man U legend Brian Kidd "This guy" while bringing him back 😁
The soft guitar tunes with the fastforward moments were very pleasent. Great choice 👍
Louis Island got a new fan, that’s music right there…

Z, I love you but what I really need is a video about how Nick RTFM starts the save. I feel like we could both learn so much.
I'm 5 years into my Utd save and Antony is genuinely one of my best players. For some reason, he's actually really good in the game
Loved the style of the vídeo, in my feels
Garnacho’s photo is amazing😂
Pro-tip: Use the squad planner tool to get a better overview of your squad, it gives a great visual of your squads strengths and weaknesses.
5:33 Dortmund payed for half a year loan 3.5m€ - salary and fee. And his wage at ManU is estimated at 16.5 Million $
I'm at about 14,400 since FM12.
Before FM12 I had another few thousand spent on the PSP since about 2006. On top of those I've definitely put at least 5000 in Pro Evolution Soccer Management on the PS2. Found it at a game store 20 years ago and developed a full blown addiction.

This was really satisfying to watch.
I did a United save in the beta without this season's transfers already done. I won everything. It was actually kinda easy🤣McTominay scored like 20 goals for me.
If you're looking at save setup tips though, it's worth going into the league settings & loading in national team players & teams in continental competitions rather than just a bunch of full leagues.
458 days played.. that’s more than all my days combined on every game I’ve played for the last 15 years lol
11000 hours in 10 years is rookie numbers
You showed me a few faster ways to do things that I diddnt know about so thankyou. I do like your idea of doing a similar one with a dirt poor team though? I mean I started my current save with no staff whatsoever. I've never had that before. It was a lot of guesswork in the first few weeks!
Love the Louis Island music! Didn't know him, but it's great!!😍👌🏻
I too love sacking all the coaches and finding new ones for 20 minutes when starting a new save
Oh one more tip. Don't fire your existing staff before looking for the new ones. They give you world knowledge so you know about more staff. If you fire them first you might miss out on some good staff.
Someone in the next room, ask why I'm watching Rick Sancez play FM and now I can't unhear it😅
Would you care to explain what to look for when analysing staff?
Like what where you looking for in this save... what to look for in staff...
I can't imagine searching for staff, and by attribute! Talk about making it super easy for yourself - adverts only is the way to go, keep it real!
I would be needing a moment of reflection if I found out I played football manager for 13% of the last decade. That is soooooo much time!!
16:55 Brother what is that Garnacho picture omg
the beginning of this feels slightly like a zealandism
why are you not using staff rating sort while hiring? Its a lot easier.
