Appreciate the “to-the-point” advice, the awareness of typical or easy to fuck up concepts, genuinely genuinely appreciate the no BS, to the point (as too many UA-cam videos are 90%+ fluff). Thank you! 🙌🏼♥️
Your caster assemblies have a L-bracket, which you could easily deform with your hands. When you load the front posts, the L-brackets will bend (easily) and you will damage your wall/mounts, because you floated the front posts by an inch.
Hey, you want all the weight on the post. None of the weight should be on the wall. You bolted it to high on the wall
thanks for the tips!!
Great Setup! Can you post a link to the caster wheels you installed?
Sweet vid man thanks, gonna be installing a Titan T-3 once it comes in
Thank for the review. Did the rack come with the wheel? Also is all of your weight sitting on the wheels? Ive seen Ethos have some sort of lockers that seem more stable than the titan
Please let me know.
Man I just got through installing mine folding rack. I went with the 41in, and with these tips it was a breeze. Folded up perfect first time and with little to no drag
how long did it take?
@@donnysayslift right around 3 hours. The manual doesn't cover the measurements anywhere which was my only complaint
hey bro random but did you go for the 41" in order to squat on the inside of the rack? or is there any other advantage at all for getting the extra depth?
@@happyjunki3 I went with the 41 because my water heater is in the corner of my garage/gym. So I was able to get about a safe distance away from it, only reason 😆
what screws did you use for the stringers into your studs?
Does anybody knows what size rogue rollers would work with my titan x-3 foldable rack?
Hi, do you thing guy the rubber floor will effect the rack when you loud a weight on it?
So do the legs just drag on the floor if it’s set up touching the ground? I thought maybe the legs/poles would move up or down a bit so that they wouldn’t scrape/drag on the ground when folding in and out
Thanks for the video! I just got the Rep PR-4100 folding rack in 21" and I'm installing in my garage which has cement walls. I already got two 2x10inx56in stringers and stall mats for the flooring. However I just wanted to clarify, when you install the rack to stringers, are the vertical pieces of the rack resting fully on the floor? I'm missing how they can offload weight on the floor, but also be able to swing closed. Unless the vertical part of rack is supposed to just be floating? I figured it needed the ground contact for security when racking weights or doing pull ups. Any advice is much appreciated!
The rack should be be sitting on the floor. This is where you need to use the leveler to find out if the swing of the rack is leveled or not. If it's leveled I do not recommend using shims because mine was leveled and I now have the 1/4" gap hence the reason why I installed caster wheels. I've cut out 3x3 tile squares to put on underneath for support.
Very easy to take on and off
epic fail bro. all the vertical load on your rack is being transferred into your wall because you installed the rack too high. the wheels are unnecessary. you either need to lower your rack so the feet are on the ground and transferring load to the ground, or you need to installs SHIMS under the feet. tile not the best choice.

I just purchased the T-3 rack at the at 21" depth! It hasn't come in yet but I'm excited to get it! What size bolts did you use to mount the rack to the wall?
3/8" x 3.5 you could get away with using 1/2"
also another tip is when you're bolting the stringer to the 2 poles, make sure to notch out the hole in the back so the head sits flush so when you mount it to the wall, it's flat! I should have stated this in the video as well.
Where did you get the l bracket and wheel from? I couldn’t find it at lowes
I got these from Amazon
💪🏽🔥
Could you explain tip 1, what is the reason you advise using stringers?
Stringers basically make your installation super strong by spanning studs, so you don't have to worry about it falling apart. Plus, it's a great way to install into wood instead of concrete or masonry, since concrete can sometimes make the mounts come loose over time. And, if you have studs that are spaced out weird, stringers can help with that too. Just mount them into the studs and then mount your rig into the stringer. Easy peasy!
The center of the wall studs will either be 16” or 24” apart.
It doesn’t appear that you could attach both brackets using all 4 holes in studs in an average wall.
You wouldn’t want to fasten this to the wall using an anchor.
You want all mounting holes attached to solid wood.
By using a 2x6 you can span as many studs as you like and have it fastened securely.
Now you have a solid piece of wood that’s secured to studs to mount the rack to.
I’m installing in an inside room on a wood floor. If the side poles of the rack are fully on the ground when it’s out, will they scratch the floors up when I slide the arms of the rack in to close? Should I put one of those black mats down first? Or would the mat sink in over time where the side poles sit and make it hard to close them?
The bottom of the side poles have hard plastic underneath, overtime it can probably dull your wooden floors. If it's a gym room your designing I would just get the black mats so you don't have to unmount the stringers because it's more work. These mats are really durable, I cannot see them sinking in overtime. Unless your using those foam mats which I do not recommend.
These mats are called Horse Stall mats from your depot stores.
quick question, tip #1 was to attach the rack to the 2X6? you bolt the rack to the board and after you bolt the 6 screws to the wall. Did I get it correctly? thanks for the tips.very helpful.
Hi, Tip # 1 was to use the 2x6 then tip # 2 was to then mount the 4 shorter poles to the 2 taller ones on the ground using the pull up bar as your measurement.
let me know if you have further questions
Did you assemble to stringers first and then screw stringer into wall? Or stringers into wall first and then attach the rack to the wood stringers?
It was assembled while stringers were still on the floor because when bolting the stringer to the 2 poles, make sure to notch out the hole in the back so the head sits flush so when you mount it to the wall, it's flat! I should have stated this in the video as well.
@@donnysayslift Gotcha. Thanks for the help! Unfortunately, we installed it before seeing this last comment. We attached the stringers to the studs first. Then we positioned the rack up there and drilled pilot holes for the lags we used to attach the rack to the stringers. Once everything was securely attached to stringers, the front legs were firmly on the floor...which is good to help offset weight from doing pushups and weight lifting, etc., but bad because now it won't fold in since it's so snug on the floor. I really think this is a bad design. They should make it where the legs lift slightly when it's time to fold in. As it is, you want them snug on the floor without having to add a tile shim like you did...but then it would literally drag across the floor while you're trying to close it. I don't get it. Oh well. We got the 21" so we just won't ever close it now. Thanks again for your help! Geez this is a long comment. Maybe it'll help someone in the future.
No problem my next setup will be the prx brand which lifts up vs side by side
Can you post a link to the wheels you added?
I tried looking for it on Amazon however it's no longer listed. However, any heavy duty caster will work.
What's the distance between your stringers? I'm going with wood stringers and don't know how far apart they should be.
I'm not sure, I'll have to check. All I did was mount the pullup bar on and made sure it measured 48" across, that way your risk of making a mistake is is very slim.
let me know if you actually want the measurement between the stringers
@@donnysayslift that would be great if you could!
Why use wooden beams that are then hung on the wall, rather than hanging the power rack directly on the wall (without the wooden boards). I don't speak English very well, so I didn't understand why. What is the advantage that makes these wooden beams so important everywhere, please?
The bolts on the swing arms are about 6" horizontal. Only 1 would be in a stud and the other would not have good support. Also it is unlikely that there are 2 studs the correct distance apart to have the bars be the right distance apart.
I'm about to install one and found this video and comments helpful.
Is this the 21" depth? Do you find it too shallow?
Hi there, yeah it's the 21" depth option. No, the 21" depth is not too shallow for the rack. There's enough room and space for the spotter to stand and assist during bench/squats. Overall, pretty happy with the build.
So all the weigjt while lifting will be on thoese wheeals?
I cut 3x3 squares from the tile and put it underneath
I will eventually fix this by moving down the stringers
Where did you buy the wheels?
Amazon
@@donnysayslift you dont have a link do you or brand?
@@ashtoneversberg1996 unfortunately I don't, however you can buy any of the heavy duty ones. Just make sure it's rated at what you're trying to load on there.
@@donnysayslift thank you
Bro your only leveling 6 inches lol
I just saw this video for the first time. That's exactly what I thought. Bro, you gotta a slope in your floor...
He actually said there's a quarter inch gap because his ground is level.😂
This was painful to watch.
