Wish I had the money to have Counts Kustoms do a car for me , man Ryan does a amazing job
Dang, what a beautiful GTO. That would be my dream to own such a gem, just completely blown away 😳
Really like it when you guys do it simple and clean. INTERIOR is really something ..nice colours.
This turned out beautiful but I actually preferred the way it looked before they restored it😅
These blokes that not build but create automotive works of art . Sheer genius 😍❤️💪👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Dude..Danny is my guy!!The way he reacted was just amazing....sure..he has a business..but he seems to put the cars over price!!!
THAT GTO LOOKED WICKED COOL ALL DIRTY...
Resto job is gorgeous!!!
An LS3 capable of making 540hp with a what behind it?! A 4L60e?? Whyyyy. Thats like putting a 700r4 behind a big block, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Sure you can build anything up, but why wouldn't they put a 4L80e behind it so it actually lasts? 🤨
What a beauty. I want one now..
Just an incredible restoration job fit for a truly iconic American automotive icon. Doesn't get much better than this.
Come on man, love the ls engines but when it comes to something like this you leave the old school motor alone, keep it old school Pontiac
I get it Chuck... I would too... But at their age I can definitely see the advantage of a Resto-Mod
But they could have gone through and completely rebuilt the original motor and would be just like the same brand new
Could be that the client told them to update all of the internals
Danny knows better dude.
@@amirardalan1903 WRONG. They built the car and then offered it as for sale.
Would have been better to keep it as a survivor. Clean it up, update a few things (brakes for starters) and drive it.
ya wheres the factory tach on the hood....I like the TACH on the HOOD
Ya, I was thinking when they first showed it. Looks good as is.
YOU SIR ARE THE SMARTEST OWL IN THE FORREST THX
100%!!!
Do the full custom on a gutted wreck, not a beautiful survivor.
Mark my words, I too will buy a 67 GTO from the Count one day.
This is my dream car. REMEMBER ME.
Ok I’m gonna write that down. When should I check back?
Seriously, if had the money and I was going to get someone to build me a car, I’d get a Chevy and have the guys from Iron Resurrection do it.
Those guys do excellent work and Joe Martin isn’t trying to impress everyone with how cool he is. He just builds really nice cars.
Lot of people criticizes they swap the engine but look. When you pay this much you want something that you can drive everyday and everywhere . Ls3 is just amazing. Plus a lot more power
This car is probably my favorite car of all time. I dont think any other car comes close to this one for me
Best American car period love it
me and my dad have a 1966 pontiac tempest.
Thats the best i seen on counting cars !!!!!
My Dream car
I've owned my 67 for 42 years and will own it till I stop breathing.
What a breath of fresh air whew 😥
I have that same problem Danny. I can't tell you what I want, I'll know it when I see it. 🤘
Keep those Cars coming Danny.
Tore out the heart of the car when they swapped out the engine
Chopped the legs up and put makeup on the face.
Black cherry with black interior for my taste, overall Amazing car.
That is a beautiful car. How about a couple of up date shows. Send a camera crew to some of the best cars at there new homes. How are the cars doing? How are the new owners doing? Let's see!
I'm with Danny , it's Awesome!
Watching there hearts drop was funny as
It was better first then it was now.😕
They massacred my boy.
@Melbourne Car Shows I agree they ruined it, it looks So Stupid but the ls3 is cool though !!!
I agree, black is just perfect for a gto.
I agree with you.
@@jakeorenzo1009 it looks stupid??? Lmao sure
Simply outstanding
Danny what a car .I can't stand to see it go and Im just a reader of your website.
danny kept the og engine
He should have done it back to stock and kept the original Pontiac motor. They could this to a beater...
Only thing I didn't hear you talk about was AC . I'm a Arizona boy AC is a must have.
7:32 they said it has "heat, AC, power steering, power brakes."
@@typicaledc perfect
@@johnhalchishick7094 He rattled it off so quickly it was easy to miss.
I'm just wondering what happened to Paul, who used to do all the interior work.
I can certainly appreciate the craftsmanship that went into this car. But they should have done a correct restoration. The flames, the wheels, the interior, and the Chevy motor do not belong in or on such a clean and original GTO. This is sacrilege.
Love the car, basically a Resto mod. I despise the "ghost flames" it cheapens it. I also despise the Ed Hardy design on the seats.
2:18 he pulled a Gordon Ramsey
STREY BEATS its RAMSAY now. Mandela Effect. Definitely was Ramsey though, you're right.
This one is superb. I would never part with it.
That’s what the bald man said when someone gave him a comb.
Hello Danny, Did you get to read the "Montenard's(sp?)" email I sent to your business?🤔 Hey, I understand your desire/hate to see it go, as my first want was the GTO, for sure (no dough, no GTO)!!!🙄 Love watching your show, I try to see 'em all, your D-town visit teared me up as well, remembering the good 'old times, for sure!!!😢🤗 Take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 👍👍😇👊🙏🏻
Man used to be an actor in TINTIN cartons.
great car!
I've got a 65 mustang just going to waste in the back due to not know how to work on old cars only new ones with computers
That thing had to sell for over $100,000.
Beautiful GOAT, stunning. I would say around $145,00.
Back that thing with a 4l60e 😳
I mean. Didn't flames go out a while ago? It's just cheesy anymore. It's not a rat rod.
What is the name of this red?
Should have kept the original drive train.
i cant believe people get so attached to inanimate objects,
I don't know about that chrome wheels.
Love the car but not a great fan of the wheels
How much did this roughly cost I’d like to get a gto like this one day.
Easy 100k plus
What happened to the tachometer on the hood
My jaw dropped when they revealed the car
... i cringed n' puked
A gentleman in my neighborhood has one of those. In British racing green. I keep asking him to sell it to me... He keeps saying 65 Grand.
I counter offered with a case of two-ply, and a year Supply of n95's at the start of the pandemic... no dice.
That's where you went wrong. Everyone knows four-ply is the only way to roll.
The day may have arrived when the car they started with is more desirable than a car that has been “gone over”. I’d rather have a 67 car with cigarettes from the 70s on 80s tires that I can drive in traffic before a pristine flipped car that has auction trailer Queen written all over it.
Didn’t he already have the blue one like wtf
Are there heads cold?
So beautiful, I just didn’t think it needed the ‘flames’ in the paint. The colour and lines of that car I could look at it all day
I agree about the flames. No need for those.
They do what the client asks them to do
That was my initial reaction. At least they're subtle & will probably disappear at night.
I loved everything about this except the motor swap. If I’m buying a 67, I’d want a 67 motor. I get that 200 more hp is great but without the classic motor, it’s just a good looking classic shell. Still, can’t be mad at it because that was GORGEOUS
there you said it.
Counting Cars is ghey, and then Counting Cars went more ghey by swapping the engine! So lame, Crapping Cars!
The ls is more practical and faster but the tri power would be the right sound for that goat 🐅
I hate it should have gone to Butler and not waste another Pontiac.
That’s what the customer wanted for sure
When the wife says it's beautiful, and brings back a lot of memories, you know you did right.
I know that's right... Because if momma isn't happy then nobody is happy lol
You men are such wimps don't you have a mind of your own if you like it by the f****** thing!!
He must have taken her to Pound Town in it.
Tach on the hood was iconic. Even if they made it a digital tach it should be there. Takes so much away from the original.
It IS a restomod, not traditional boring stuff!
@@TheBluesnbob tach was not boring... it was classic
with or without the hood tach, it's a great car.
youu know it....had one on a 68 half firebird...69 dash and had 68 gauges was one of a kind factory
Americans got a little crazy with tachs, up on the dashboard and then outside the front window.
God I wish I had one 67 greatest yr for the Goat
My personal favorite also
... got one right now AND it'll never ever b "butchered" like this one was !
@Mustang Cobra ... back in the day I had a 68 stang 390GT fastback - badarse she was - like most at times - hurtin for cash it had to go.
As far as this goat goes - they not only hurt a nice example in the mechanix dept. but the shear bones of the car (colors, wheels, n' on n' on) - and turned it into a rude n' crude below standard gutless lamb.
@@nemesisxrox6773 yeah i had a tyrol blue 67 convertible with a white roof in the early 90's. It hurts to see such a straight car with what looked like an original engine turned into a restomod or whatever you call it. Still a great car but one less original left to go around!
I don't have a 67 gto, but do have a 67 lemans I guess that will have to do
LS engines are great. I've had them. But you never, NEVER, take a Pontiac engine out of an old school GTO.
I'm a Ford / Mopar guy but agree with you 100%. Pontiac built engines just fine - they don't need to be second-guessed or replaced.
Very true
@Mustang Cobra ... appreciate the note - now the shames on the shop guyz for finding that one to butcher up in the first place.
Agree 💯. That is baffleling 😡
Ghosted flames...🙄🙄🙄
For the first time I actually don’t like the paint or the Rims or the interior I mean it looks good but should’ve kept it Black closer to original
AGREE WITH YOU OR A DEEPER RED AND A CREAM OR BLACK INTERIOR
Black interior was a must.
I agree! Car should have been kept original
Yeah. Man I liked the black. But in reality. I Assume, really it's what the buyer wanted. In real life most of this has been talked over with the seller about what he wants before hand.
Who else would have kept the original engine in it? There's something about old muscle cars that have the original engines. Plus I would imagine a car with the original engine would be worth more than something with the new hopped up 550 course power crate motor? Plus they go plenty fast enough. Why would you need to go faster? Are you in that much of a rush to lose your driver's license?
I'm a HUGE believer in the original factory motor from being new and will not break a personal RULE #1 ROB !NAILED IT!!
Real Pontiac engines are blue. I still have the original 400 in my Catalina. Don't know why anyone would replace a 400. I think they're one of the greatest engines ever made.
Even if I kept the original motor I would have changed everything but the block anyway but I hear you.
@@originalpunkSxE mine came with a 398 I believe, it's been a long time 1974
@David Christ '66 was the last year for the 389, and the last year for multiple carbs in GM cars. In '67 they became 400 cid with single 4-barrels.
They ruined a classic, way too pimped out. Reason we love ‘66 & ‘67 GTOs is the look, inside & out (Why would you get rid of the iconic tach on hood????). Should’ve stuck with new, but original factory paint color, PMD rally wheels, should’ve redone interior to the way it came from factory (Why would you get rid of the iconic Hurst dual gate / his & hers???). Why would you not put in new, but original looking interior with wood on dash, black interior, GTO tags, etc ... Under the hood & suspension I can understand, doesn’t affect the look, but the exterior & interior, not so much. It looks like Huggy Bear’s car. 🤦♂️
Car is freakin amazing. Stop over-analyzing.
I have always liked GTOs but they screwed up on this one. Started out with what appeared to be an all orginal car and customized it? The paint is beautiful and i dig the ghost flames but that's it. The wheels, interior, and engine just don't seem right for that car. But hey, that's just my opinion. The customer likes it and that's what really matters.
I had one and yes original is cool but I like all the modern upgrades. They didn't say anything about AC I'm in arizona AC is a must have . OH and that hood tac wasn't factory but it to was cool
i was thinking the same thing......if it was a ford pinto ok lets customize it but a gto really lets keep everything original but thats just me....nice car though
Ghosted flames are boomer garbage...
There's 3 types of people in buying an old car to love. One who wants it all original but clean, one who wants the outside custom/original and modern interior(ac,engine, radio, etc...) specs, and the rat rodders who want a rustbuckets
@@johnhalchishick7094
I wondered about that. How can you tell for sure if the hood tach is original?
A lot of people are commenting that they should have left it stock. I get what they’re saying but automotive technology has come a long way since 1967. A resto-mod makes a lot of sense if you’re going to keep it and drive it.
Yes beautiful car but man I come from back time I wish they would have kept some of the original stuff where's the tachometer on the hood
Yeah I saw that too why would you take off the signature look of gto
@@gentthesecond4 i know its like wow thats what set it apart the tach on the hood. Thanks for your reply happy classic car driving.
Yeah i agree with you. It is much better if they leave all the original parts. You cant say that its still original....uhmmm doubt about.
shouldda started with a lemans, not , what appeared to be an original, intact , hurst badged goat...
i know would have liked to have seen an original restoration all in black again
Amen!
I agree, Please tell me it was not a numbers matching H.O. 400 model a classic Pontiac needs the classic Poncho Big Block. There would have been nothing wrong with rebuilding the 400 engine and THM 400 trans that was in it and going through the brakes and wiring and just polishing the Black paint that was there already.
I remember back in 67,68,69 when my momma used to drag race her 67 lemans against numerous gto's, Chevelle's, mustang's etc. Dad found out and 68 LTD it became
Then everyone would have bitched at them for spoiling an original Le Mans.
Honestly I think it looked better before
... quite honesty - U R SO RIGHT !
They probably parted out the old one to make a bigger profit
I AGREE WITH YOU
I still know where there's a 1967 gto been garaged now for 30 plus years,,,next to a 1940 Cadillac,,,and no,,,,also a 67 firebird convertible,,,how about this? A 1964/ first year shelby convertble,,,,,and more,,,danny? Let's watch the internet do its b,s thing,,last thing I sold was 1947 hardtail harley,,,,point is? Cars me mentioned still hidden,,,got offered sweet '58 impala today and 1964 Bonneville for sale,,completely cherry,,,new england stands tall! Danny?🙂
I prefer that wood console.
I thought it looked better stock. The ghost flames are cool, but the wheels are ugly
Color ugly total messup
Parted it out for extra $ or for another build sadly. He took it for his gto and gave them a shet one.
Would of kept stock for sure
These always look best in black. It needs wider tires all around. I like the stance, but not enough rubber. I'm not sure about this year, but my 70 can fit 305/40/18 in the rear wells.
@@dan9809 wheels and tires are all wrong on this one.....agreed
Not a fan of the paint job
Would have been great to know the effing price at the end the customer was going to pay.
gotta say not a fan of the design on this classic car, its one of the all time greats yet the design doesnt pay it any respects at all. The tacky chrome rims don't fit the style for this car, and the paint being that bright doesnt feel right either. Thats the ongoing issue I have with the designs of this shop, all too often its them trying a modern twist on a classic design, but like proper quality vanilla ice cream, you cant actually try improving it with flashy gimmicks and toppings, all you do is take away the perfect balance of flavor that lied underneath, I would have went with a simple period correct design and modernized the engine and suspension etc and maybe the interior at most but that body design I never would try adding modern flair like that, its honestly disrespectful to those of us who enjoy the classics and purist of even the GTO fanclubs. Was with a friend who took his GTO up to a car meet of classic muscle cars, when they saw his candy paintjob and chrome flashing rims they made him the laughing stock for the night. The guy had it custom done at a shop in Texas was super excited and happy with it but I warned him if you disrespect the classic car culture be prepared for the consequences. Now he cant even take the car out and enjoy it anymore and is saving up to have it repainted and get new rims for it again.
The buyer is a humble legend, congrats
Is the buyer a doctor? Just by the emblem on the drivers seat it made me assume that.
@@jumboslice1514 doesn't look the type but could be I'm going to watch it again
If I still had my 1969 GTO convertible, I would insist to these guys that it be restored to what it was like when it rolled off the assembly line. No customizing or alterations of any kind.
Looks beautiful, but IF the numbers matched, the customizing was a waste. If not, I would not complain.
Y'all ruined that nice original poncho. Shame on you for days.
Automatic, uuuggghhhh. Flames, ugggghhhhh. Them rims, double uuuuggghhhhhh.
Ok
wouldnt care if it was an auto only going to be cruising in it anyway. but agree on everything else; flames are tacky, so is the interior and the wheels look atrocious.
@@ReplicantBattyman A muscle car should have a clutch to dump and some gears to bang. An original classic car is meant to cruise in. In my opinion. I could be wrong, my wife usually says I am.
@@willymaykit1482 makes sense, see im from england so a 67 gto would be considered a classic here more so than a performance car. if i got my hands on one i wouldnt be going over 50 whereas youd probably be doing burnouts and taking it to the drag strip haha
@@ReplicantBattyman I'm 54 and live in Vermont my entire life. No drag strip, just back roads.
I was actually sad when I saw the LS3 instead of stock 400, the ghost flames another no no. Such a gorgeous car KEEP IT STOCK. This is even worse if it was numbers matching. This car is what I call molested.
Larry Schwartz, I agree. IMHO, they ruined this car and ruined its value.
Yes and flames messed it up.
Right the car just went down in value I would at least ask for the engine back
Sure messed up that goat. And what's with the bandanna hanging over the glasses and up over the head ?
He has a very big forehead and he doesn't like showing it
He’s too cool for school and he wants everyone to know. It’s all about projecting an image.
I had a white ‘67, with red interior. I got it when I was 15, and by the time I was legally allowed to drive, it I had a 455.
I do wish I still had that car!😢
On the brighter side, I do now have a rare Liberty Blue ‘69 Judge.
Wow, that ‘67 goat came out awesome. 👏
Jealous!
Order in the courtroom. Here come Da Judge.
Back when I was 3 years old my dad bought a 67 Chevelle Super Sport off the showroom floor I grew up loving that car I only wish it would have been mine
Those are beauties.
Never watched the show before...but when I saw the 67 just needed to watch...the first reveal of the car was screaming restoration..a tear came to my eye when I saw the final...sure it was amazing but does everything need an LS...they slaughtered that car.
Flames 🙄 who still digs flames? Otherwise she's gorgeous, but guys, flames are wildly played out.
On the right car flames are still awesome
Not a flame person but ghost flames I can live with. Real flames I still like
Saw the goat and “fainted” instead of the other way around.
I would have let Danny keep it. It's not a 67 GTO anymore. Now it's just another pimped out old car.
If I win the lottery here are my plans.
1. By a 67 GTO.
2. Call Counts Kustoms for a appointment to see and elevate my new GTO to a chariot worthy of God.
Seriously ever time I see them do a 67 GTO it comes out looking spectacular.
@2:05 Man Danny can make you think youre fixing to get fired from Nevada to Texas 🥴 Whewww
a shame to destroy a true classic but I guess money talks..would not be for me but I am a purist and yeah, I have a couple GTO's :)
Do not like those wheels. Something brushed I think would’ve looked nicer than the polished
67 gto has alot of polished stainless trim. Brushed would look even more odd
When he said $23k, I thought... Is that it?
Danny had me worried lol that's a great deal
I would’ve been stoked “as is”!!!
I don't blame Danny one bit. '67 GTO being his favorite car, I know how he feels.
People commenting they should have kept it orginal, but fact is Counts Customs doesn't usually build a collectors car that is meant just to keep in display, NO they make cars that are to be driven EVERYDAY.
And for that new electronics, suspension, brakes, engine etc are essential.
Awesome but should have Pontiac motor and why do away with hood tachometer?
I remember I had a gto with upgraded spark plugs that gave it about 1,000 horsepower it was a really fast car, thankyou autozone for recommending the gold series Platnium spark plugs 🔌
I was disappointed. I honestly liked it better before they changed it! They took the tach off the hood! Why? Looked so good black. They took out the original 389! Ruined that beautiful GTO!!
67 had a 400.
@@fvgc454ss Whatever. Point is they took out original engine. Now the GTO is.....nothing.
The LS engine all around better than the original motor and has better fuel economy. I'm keeping my 70s Caddy closer to original only because I don't have money for a crazy LS swap. Big Block Caddy is still running REAL PROPER
