I loved everything about this except the motor swap. If I’m buying a 67, I’d want a 67 motor. I get that 200 more hp is great but without the classic motor, it’s just a good looking classic shell. Still, can’t be mad at it because that was GORGEOUS
My father imported a brand new 67 GTO from the States as they weren't built in Canada back in the day. The only other Pontiac alternative was the 396 equipped Beaumont SD which is also a Classic. My mother decided she wanted to drive the GTO so at the ripe old age of 14 I was assigned to teach my mom to drive and she got her license on the first go. I was quite proud of that being I had no steering papers myself.
Back when I was 3 years old my dad bought a 67 Chevelle Super Sport off the showroom floor I grew up loving that car I only wish it would have been mine
@Mustang Cobra ... back in the day I had a 68 stang 390GT fastback - badarse she was - like most at times - hurtin for cash it had to go. As far as this goat goes - they not only hurt a nice example in the mechanix dept. but the shear bones of the car (colors, wheels, n' on n' on) - and turned it into a rude n' crude below standard gutless lamb.
@@nemesisxrox6773 yeah i had a tyrol blue 67 convertible with a white roof in the early 90's. It hurts to see such a straight car with what looked like an original engine turned into a restomod or whatever you call it. Still a great car but one less original left to go around!
My buddy in Detroit Mich. had a car like this Pontiac only it was dark blue. He could smoke the entire lot for HyFy gas station up so know one could see anything for several moments. What power he got from this car. Love the stacked headlights , and thePontiac power they made this car be able to drive. Great memories.
I had a white ‘67, with red interior. I got it when I was 15, and by the time I was legally allowed to drive, it I had a 455. I do wish I still had that car!😢 On the brighter side, I do now have a rare Liberty Blue ‘69 Judge. Wow, that ‘67 goat came out awesome. 👏
I remember I had a gto with upgraded spark plugs that gave it about 1,000 horsepower it was a really fast car, thankyou autozone for recommending the gold series Platnium spark plugs 🔌
My favorite GTO is any year that begins in 196. Love all the ones from the 60's. They just got bulkier in the early 70's until the Ventura (Nova) version. All else equal, I would bring home a '68 hardtop, Ram Air with a dual gate automatic and power everything, in any bright color.
The good thing about it is, it is really beautiful. The bad thing about it us, they took out all, almost the original oarts of the car and made it a classy new model.
People commenting they should have kept it orginal, but fact is Counts Customs doesn't usually build a collectors car that is meant just to keep in display, NO they make cars that are to be driven EVERYDAY. And for that new electronics, suspension, brakes, engine etc are essential.
If I still had my 1969 GTO convertible, I would insist to these guys that it be restored to what it was like when it rolled off the assembly line. No customizing or alterations of any kind.
Those were the days, my brother Ronnie had almost identical 1967 G T O same color, but not with 500 horses. I had a Firebird 400 Convertible fire engine red 1967. In 1967. Sticker shock was $4767. I had the cash and got it for $4210 at Jim Finney Pontiac in Oceanside, California!!! Loved it!! Memories!! My other brother, Gary had a '66 Chevy SS.
I really wish it was a stock kind of Resto-mod car. I think that the black with ghost flames would have looked nice, but as soon as I saw the interior my heart dropped and I just couldn't believe that danny allowed for that to happen.
Until I saw this GTO, I thought Big John Mazmanian's '41 Willys was the best version of candy apple red I'd ever seen. This Ryan designed red is absolutely beautiful; the ghosted flames perfect. What a great car.
Ok I’m gonna write that down. When should I check back? Seriously, if had the money and I was going to get someone to build me a car, I’d get a Chevy and have the guys from Iron Resurrection do it. Those guys do excellent work and Joe Martin isn’t trying to impress everyone with how cool he is. He just builds really nice cars.
wouldnt care if it was an auto only going to be cruising in it anyway. but agree on everything else; flames are tacky, so is the interior and the wheels look atrocious.

A factory black GTO in 67 is fairly uncommon... 2.2%
