      Hello, and thank you for all your great videos and to Sparkling Spirit for this question! I'm a full-time traveler as well, and so far I haven't managed to get rid of one pair of either slippers or Oofos for wearing indoors, to protect my feet from the cold an/or hard floors. I'd love to hear how everyone else deals with this - do you wear your outdoor shoes indoors too, or just deal with walking barefoot or in socks indoors? Seems like a silly question as I'm typing this out, but we do walk and hike a lot and I need to take care of my feet to continue! Thanks.

    Being involved in aviation I feel that they are much more concerned about weight than size. That being said try to keep the size as close to the regs as possible. Extra weight cause more fuel burn costs as well as weight and balance issues with the particular aircraft. One can also try to carry a few extra objects on their person if they are concerned about weight issues .

    Hi guys. New subscriber who Recently found your channel and have been binge watching in prep for an upcoming 6-week trip to Portugal.
    I watched your prior packing video and thought both your timbuk2 and eagle creek bags looked awesome so we ordered one of each (and a similar Eddie Bauer bag) to check out. They are on their way here now.
    So, last night I was surprised to find this more recent packing video with the Osprey bags! Especially since the measurements of this bag are not compliant with most airlines carryon sizing (Osprey measures 23.62H X 14.17W X 11.02D IN. 5.998 LBS.)
    Can you share why you switched from your prior recommended bags to this (especially since the others are carryon dimension co pliant and served you well for so long?)
    Luggage is proving the bane of my existence is planning this trip. Our packing list is very similar to yours.
    We had no trouble at all fitting everything into the Briggs 22x14x9 2 wheel soft side carryon we ordered. LOVE that bag. Best, most efficient and usable space in a small bag ever…and that is BEFORE their brilliant CX compression.
    Once we loaded our lightest weight stuff into the baseline we were overweight by 4-1/2 pounds with a suitcase that was no where near full. No compression cubes or compressing the bag was needed. (I pack in my version of your bundle style as well IF we are staying in one place 4+ days. By far easiest, most efficient, wrinkle free way to pack!)
    Our sole challenge with the baseline is its weight. Took out the garment feature and bag weighs 9.6# empty.
    I know you live busy lives but I do hope you respond to this and share how you are getting a bag that is almost 2” longer than max allowed as carryon? And why abandoned the timbuk2 and eagle creek.
    I appreciate very much you’re helpful and easy to watch and listen to videos. Down to earth goodness!

    • @EatWalkLearn
      @EatWalkLearn  Рік тому

      Thanks so much for being a fan. The Timbuk2 was too big and it was on its last wheel. The Eagle Creek has a zipper that was sticking. Both were under life time warranties, but we couldn't manage shipping the bags to their warranty location repair places. Thus, we looked at new bags. I'm not sure where you got the dimensions on your Osprey. They are 21.7 in x 14.2 in x 9.1 in (55.1 x 36.1 x 23.1 cm) which is smaller than both the Eagle Creek and the Timbuk2, but it carries a liter more than the Eagle Creek. They're also waterproof'ish. If you have the Eagle Creek, keep it. It's a fine bag. I loved it, especially the handle. If I could have gotten it repaired, I would have. I do like the Osprey better if I had to pick between the two, but either are good.

    II have been waiting for this one! I am going to buy that speaker! I miss good sound! Thank you so much for the many gems! About your list. I bet there is a story behind the miniature porcupine??
    I had some concerns about backpacks for travel because i see too many bent over backpackers, and I had some shoulder, neck, lower back issues from my job and I find the belted part uncomfortable and a lot of work. So I opted for the expensive Briggs and Riley brand Euro size carryons. I love duffel bags for their awesome access, so I bought one on the also high quality rollers and lots of handles and one that attaches to it via the stackable sleeve - and this one also has a wide shoulder strap. So I usually am pulling the two beautifully stacked bags. No prob so far except once for weight as you say. (I also pretend I am going light, wear a few extra clothes to manage the weight.) Lifetime guarantee for just about everything comes with B and R.
    I love the bundle method and the random pouches are great. I do have a professional camera, but only one lens and flash, so that adds weight that I try to makeup for else where. Still it requires the cord pouch and accessories (like the fabulous PlatyPod Extreme tripod and ball head). Check it out if you are a photographer. My issue comes in that I love winter and snow. Luckily I have a few friends and family where I had shipped winter wear to for holding. Have you seen long term storage solutions at airports or train stations? It would be handy to have a locker somewhere! Keep ‘em coming! There are always more than a few gems!

    • @EatWalkLearn
      @EatWalkLearn  Рік тому +1

      These are great gems😀. I haven't seen ling term storage beyond a week or so at train stations (great idea) but I bet there are traditional storage areas nearby that could be a solution. Hi there. We are in the bag hunting state with a rapidly approaching 6 week trip on horizon.
      Exactly which Briggs bags did you buy? We bought the ZDX initially but it has a poor design for maximizing space.
      We are testing the Briggs baseline (ext 22 x 14 x 9) with the brilliant CX compression feature and by far the most usable and efficient usable storage (in liters) of any bag we have found.
      We are two wheel, soft side luggage people. briggs 2 wheel baseline is just great….love it!
      EXCEPT….it is almost 10 pounds EMPTY. With a 22 pound carry on limit, packing pretty much would most full time nomads take, using lightweight performance fabrics and wearing our heaviest gear we still had to offload a bunch of clothing and toiletry bag to underseat bag (for which there are size but not weight restrictions on our 2 flights.
      This means we aren’t even using the non-compressed available space in the Briggs baseline. Where I think the baseline will excel for us is allowing us to perhaps buy a few mementos along the way and then checking the bag on return flights. I have no doubts it will handle what airlines dish out.
      We are now looking for a second lighter weight true carry on bag.
      Any advice you can offer appreciated!

I use the Weekender Duffel as a carryon and it has fit under every seat in front of me even though I have packed it tight. It has side flaps that strap down once you get everything packed, making it smaller than it appears. Being soft, it squishes a bit where needed. I can't believe the room in this thing. It attaches beautifully to the wheeled duffel handle. This is the bag I keep clothes in for just that reason - so it can squish when necessary. I have a question regarding traveling with vitamins, herbs, OTC meds and rx meds.
    Everyone always says bring original containers.
    An original container is usually 5-6 times larger than the amount of pills inside of it. Terrible waste of space and weight.
    I take three Chinese herbs on regular basis. I can put the 40 days worth for each of three in a single pouch the size of ONE bottle and with less weight. Ditto vitamins and my two rx, benedryl, Motrin etc.
