If you mix half Dawn dish soap and vinegar in a spray bottle it makes a great glass cleaner. Heat your vinegar for 30 seconds in microwave then mix the equal amounts in the bottle. Spray it on your glass shower, scrub the glass with a sponge, and rinse. It should take the water spots off the glass. It can be used to clean a lot of other things too. Happy cleaning.
Sorry to tell you that the mice will probably eat into the polyisofoam. They eat through most things that are softer then their teeth and the foam is also softer and they will seek out shelter from the weather werever they can find it. You need to put either metal flashing or metal netting behind every entrypoint you can find and especially on the lower edge between the siding and the concrete. We had rats that dug into the house along the warm water lines at work via the trench and along the water lines and got inside that way. They are exelenbt diggers and will chew through most things.
Trent, I work for a stormwater drainage products manufacturer. Have you considered installing french drains around your property to direct the water away from you buildings and off your property? Just a suggestion. Thanks for the great videos.
In the many years I have followed Trent and Allie, the one thing I’ve learned, Trent doesn’t do well following others ideas. He would rather do it his way and then redo it.
It wouldn’t even need to be a French drain per se….just some tile work…the eaves tie into the tile drainage….definitely needs some water melt drainage ..sod/soil/ gravel will always be washing out
Hi Jennifer ! So sorry to hear you had a bad fall on the mountain and you are in pain now. I know everyone on UA-cam's Trent and Allie channel are wishing you a speedy recovery and that you mend to be as good as before. You always have such a beautiful smile whenever we see you; you will be missed while you are mending and look forward to you coming back. God bless you in your healing. Trent, I know you probably have considered this already but if not, then .......have you considered installing a French drain or U channel drain; your location would be a perfect place to install one. Years and years of less erosion and possible mud slides. Just a thought. Always fun to watch your family and friends and see those beautiful Utah mountain views.
Trent. You need a bulldozer to come out and cut that bank back 30 more feet away from your shed addition on the house. Also on the back of the garage. Your rock wall needs to be built by a pro with a French drain installed on the uphill side.
If you clean off your shower doors then apply per directions rain x made for car windows on them every other week and a squeegee after every shower it will prevent soap scum build up. I have a residential cleaning business and I use it...makes cleaning up quick and easy keeps the glass looking clear and clean. Use soft rags for buffing it. Never have to deep clean soap scum ever again!
Jennifer is such a sweet soul, which is evident when you look into her eyes. Her goodness just shines through. Being an active mom and sister is such a blessing to all those around her. I will be praying for her quick recovery and I’m sure Leo will be glad to see her return.
Sending prayer for Jennifer.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Hoping and praying her ankle heals quickly. I hope you can get everything finished before too much winter sets in. Fingers crossed!!!🫰
I was so happy to see Frank's handsome face today. I've loved him for so many years as I watched him join you on your travels. 💝💞 He has adapted to many different situations and always seems to maintain a balance of fun and calm. He's an exceptional fur friend. Treasure him, my friends.
Oh man Jennifer I feel you!! I tore my ACL and I HATED being immobilized so I hope you bounce back soon! And Sarah is totally your mini me omg, what a great kid you raised.
Hi guys!! So sad to hear of Jennifer’s accident. I pray that she recovers quickly and the pain dissipates just as quick! And god bless Sarah for being so generous with her time and coming up to be with Leo. And you are all doing so well. Things are going so well outside. And those tiles…..WOW they are stunning!! Take good care everyone!! Big hugs!!
There are two options for the draining situation that I can recommend as solutions for you. You will need a transit, a level, and a helper. You need to determine first on a set of lot plans the various elevations along the area where the water needs to be directed. I would recommend a decent slope so rain and runoff from snowmelt will be expedited. Decent of course is a varied number. Next, you will need to determine if you want to see the channels or bury them. You can create what is called a swale. A swale is a semi-flat V-shaped notch in the ground designed to create a creek-bed-like channel to move water along. If you plant seed or sod that will hold the soil in place but still allow the channel effect. The better option in my opinion is the use of underground drain pipes. You would just create a trench around the house. Pour a layer of gravel then run a length of perforated drain pipe that slopes around the house to the side and into a drain PVC. A six-inch pipe would probably be enough. the pipes around the house are wrapped in ground cloth so water but hopefully, not much dirt gets in. They are wrapped like giant burritos and then put in the trench. You then verify that the slope is good (1/4 drop per 4 feet is enough) then backfill with gravel. this being completed can then start planning the landscaping. perhaps compacted 3/4 stone for the drive and then hardscape for some areas but for sure a decent-sized grassy area for the boys to play on. Don't forget to put up the Leo hut. He will make memories for a lifetime with that.
Oh, no! So sad to hear of your injury, Jennifer. You have been such a welcome addition to Trent & Allie's blog. Please get well quickly. You're already missed. 🎉
Jennifer, I had a bad sprain that immobilized me. My doctor said in some ways, for healing, an actual bone break is easier. Please rest for now. I could hobble around in about a week. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Get some good books.❤️
Ugh, Jennifer, I sprained my ankle this summer too. Sorry, this happened to you. When I was asked how it happened I answered, "Walking while old." It happened that fast, one minute I was just walking along and the next I was on the ground. Ice your ankle as often as you are able, it made a huge difference for me.
Praying for a quick recovery for Jennifer. She's a sweet gift to have around. Her daughter is absolutely wonderful for helping out. God bless you guys ❤❤
Jennifer, I know it's hard when you are immobilized, especially given how active and involved you are with your loving family. One day at a time, you've got this! Know that this community is cheering you on and wishing you a restful recovery.
Mine was nothing as exciting as from a parachute jump. The bottom of my shoe broke when walking and I rolled my ankle. Woke up the next morning to a giant black and blue ankle b
I noticed the little black and white stool left of the oven door. Be very careful on that. One collapsed under my daughter. She now has a metal rod in her arm. They are extremely unstable.
Hey Trent, aside from all the swales, one would think adding some French drains would be a good thing in your drainage plans for around the house and garage. 🤷♀️
They do have some drains along the outside. Notice the black corrigated tube sticking out of the dirt at the end. That goeas around the back of the addition to help with drainage. Though they should maybe have used more gravel around the sides to help it along a bit. Though the ground will be still frozen most of the winter and the melt runoff will stay mostly on the surface and thus the importance of sloping the ground away from the building creating easy ways for the water to flow when the snow melt in the spring.
@@Dragonited that flexible drain pipe, isn’t sufficient. It’s very easily crushed. It has to be hard plastic perforated pipe, (probably doubled up, embedded in number 4 stone, and pea gravel. @@karincorbin2355 not sure that’s true. I lived on the side of a small mountain (granted not at the same elevation) in NY State’s Catskills. We added quite a bit of drainage surrounding our house. Including French drains. As long as they buried deep enough, with enough stone/gravel surrounding the perforated pipe, never experienced frost heave, or a problem. Worked like a charm.

Wishing a speedy recovery Jennifer.
My daughter and I hiked into the highest lake in oregon and she broke her foot in 3 places. A cowboy came up hours after the injury and mule/horse packed her out. She's back hiking again like a stormtrooper😊.
You will too😉
Get better soon Jennifer your great❤❤❤
