  • ** WARNING: VIDEO CONTAINS DISCUSSIONS OF RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSUALT. DO NOT WATCH IF THESE ARE TRIGGERING TO YOU**
This is a very different video from me, I have just been completely blown away by the final season of Broadchurch. I personally haven't seen another show tackle the issue of rape and sexual assault in the modern age as informatively and sensitively as this show did.
There is a lot that this show tackled that I haven't even touched on but I wanted to show the focus this show itself had on the aftermath of such an attack and how the person is rarely taken on their word and a 'reason' is always trying to be found to place the blame on the person who was attacked, rather than the perpetrator.
If you haven't watched this show, please do so (if you can, bearing in mind topics dealt with), the first 2 seasons were quite different to this but also amazing and I am going to miss this show so much and all the wonderful talented actors on it as well.

honestly hun, i keep rewatching this and i am in complete awe. you got out of your comfort zone - which takes actual balls, imo, even and especially when it comes to editing - and created /this/ and I feel beyond grateful, as a fan of the show but most of all as a woman. because this video is not only a tribute to an outstanding final season but mostly it's a video about women. there's so much raw emotion pouring out from this. i feel them all and it devastates me. the simple editing and the voiceovers you chose (and used perfectly) just heightened the emotional weight of this even more.
at the beginning you see the shock, with hardy/miller's questions overlaying themselves + the cut-to-blacks.. it feels like you're actually /her/, like you're in her head trying to process the horror of what happened.
then it comes the pain, when she gets down to that spot and relives the nightmare then jumps to when she opens her eyes in her own home. and the following section with the fear, and the self-blaming, and the shame, which might feel almost absurd as women are the victims. they didn't cause it, no matter how much you had to drink or how short your skirt was or how pretty you are or how many men did you slept with the previous week.
finally, the disgust, because "men" like those - who think the same, horrifying, sickening stuff - actually exist in real life. men who show no shame over what they did. men who don't think they're guilty of a crime, a crime which has a name that is rape and should be addressed like it.
like i already told, you you handled this sensitive topic incredibly and i dare any woman or man who comes across this video - no matter if they're familiar with the show or not - not to be moved by it.
(this track is aWFUL I HATE YOU)

Vale, you absolutely hit every point I was trying to make in this video, your comments always floor me and I do not feel worthy at all. I am but a mere editor trying to show how much this show and its handling of the topic moved me and I'm just happy the points I wanted to highlighted have been picked up. I'm just gonna go cry now over this comment

that was incredibleI am just sitting here with tears streaming down my faceyou simultaneously make the video feel personal to the characters, highlighting their own experience and emotion, while also invited the viewers to examine how horrific and brutal it is/was. just incredible, literally, I don't know if i'll be able to watch again anytime soon though.

Oh my god this was truly heartbreaking. I don't even knowwhat to say, but it's like you can feel the angst through your editing while it's truly beautiful portrayed. Incredible tribute to the season and, specially, women.

I have not seen this season yet but I had to watch this. This show has always had incredible cinematography but it's so complex and heavy that I never even dared to think about vidding it but YOU FAAYZA!!!! YOU HAVE DONE IT, AND MARVELLOUSLY AT THAT. You've taken advantage of that cinematography to tell such a heartbreaking, heavy but necessary story. I just really loved the fact that you focused on how the victims are perceived in these cases. I am now even more excited to watch the show because of your incredible editing. I just can't take you went for this and did it so gracefully. You never let us down, no matter the fandom/topic you tackle.

this was so powerful, i'm speechless. i don't watch this show but this has such a universal and important message that goes beyond any tv show. wow. i really don't know what else to say. the shots you chose, how you really just used the scenes and voiceovers to propel this without any elaborate editing, i'm just in awe. you handled this topic so incredibly well, this is the type of video that everyone could watch, should watch, because it's just so powerful and important.

This season broke me into million pieces, and so did this video, amazing work. And i agree with everything you said, this show dealt with such a hard subject as rape so well, I don't think a show made me sob as loud as Broadchurch did, specially on the first episode and the last. I am gonna miss this brilliant show a lot

I don't even know what to say right now. I have chills. This video is just so phenomenal. This season has been hard to watch because they chose such a difficult topic, but they handled it so well. And you showed that perfectly. The way you used their beautiful cinematography, how well everything was matched to the song, how beautifully and respectfully you showed Trish's story, just everything about this video is perfect. It's a true masterpiece. Saying that you did an amazing job doesn't even fully cover it, so just know that you have created true art with this video.

I really, really need to catch up. I only ever watched season 1 when it aired and I know each season tackles different topics (correct right?) so its not like its continuous but my god if this show progressed even more than season 1 I can't even imagine its brilliance. So until I do I shall DEF be back faayza!
