Had the same issue on mine, passenger door one was completely cut up and whoever did it didn't even bother taping it up. Just went to Pick-A-Part on Friday and figured I'd be save and get all 4. Only charged me $5 for the whole set. There's plenty of cars there where the door cards have never been off so easy to find vapour barriers in perfect condition. I took my time with a plastic pick tool peeling off all the butyl from the door and leaving it attached to the barrier so I could reuse as much of it as possible. Have only redone one so far, using a heat gun to make the butyl soft and sticky as I went along, seems to have made a perfect seal. I've no idea where to get new butyl tape but reusing the old stuff with a heat gun looks to work great still.
I found water on on my passanger carpet last week. First thing i did when i had some spare time was to search for M tech Guy and wet carpet. Perfect timing with this video hehe

Unlucky to come across that problem as the car is in such good condition and has been very well looked after. Looking forward to seeing the repair as it looks like a bit of a chore. Having used butyl to reseal headlamps in the past I know what a pain it is to work with. I wish you well 👍
Yes unlucky, I was gutted to see this, but it is an old car to be fair. Repair video coming next week 👍
my m5 had 5 inches in the rear footwells , blocked sunroof drains and replaced the sunroof gasket now shes bone dry :)
5” gutted! Good you got it sorted. I was nearly certain this was going to be sunroof drain issue. I need to do the sunroof seal on my M5 just due to to wind noise
Luckily I never had water inside my cars, but I found this video interesting and watched the whole thing anyway. I like your approach to finding the leak. 👍 Btw, I always clean my sunroof drains as a preventive maintenance after buying a car with sunroof. It's something most people overlook until they have water inside the car.

Im always looking forward to your new video's. Much appreciatie the time and effort you put into those video's. I hope you do more on the M5 V10 also. I have one currently with a worn clutch SMG. Would you do that yourself on axle stands?

You need a decent set of large axle stands so it’s stable and gives you enough room to get the gearbox out from under the car- it’s a big gearbox. A transmission Jack would help too
