That's just awesome! Your blessed with cool parents, I'm glad you took to the music of the 80s . Anytime I hear a young person who has an open mind enough to listen to the music of the 80s it's cool because it's like the "Torch is being passed" to another generation and, maybe someday you'll do the same, and the music (great music from _all_ previous generations) will live forever!! @@jimkeller8616 I can only say that I know exactly how you feel, lost my wife in 2011 after 20 years. This song was our favorite in 1989 when we met. I know that words cannot describe your pain. After all this time I'm still learning to live without her.
I was going to get on here and whine about my three marriages which all ended in divorce, but then I read your post. I think your situation is much worse. I hope you get your third chance. And I hope I get my fourth.

It’s so redundant of course people are still here in 2024. They’ll still be here in 2035 if the world is, it irksme when people lead with that. It’s childish.
50 years ago, this January, I fell in love with a beautiful girl I saw walking down a staircase. We had been in teachers' college since the fall, but had never seen each other. It was love at first sight. We both stopped in our tracks and smiled at each other. She passed away over four years ago, in the summer. This song is so meaningful for me because 'Since she's been gone, I've been in a trance.' It is so sad to think that she is not in this world any more. 50 years ago, almost to the day, and it feels like yesterday.
The '80s was just a decade that we will never go back to the literal years of the '80s, but the music from back than will never die is what you mean, and if you do; I agree.
One of the best emotional songs ever heard!!!!!!!!!! Unbelieveable......!!!!!!! My favourite song for eternity.......38 Special, thank's forever!!!!!!!!!!
I listen to it first time on my way to school in my mom's car when I was in 9th grade. My mom remembered this, she thought Corey Hart sang this. That song got me real good bursting into tears. I still feel sad for Chester Bennington, that's why I am here. They play this in Publix too and I worked there as a bagger.
The lead singer has such broad prominent facial features, he reminds me of this family of Mormons that I knew back in the late 90's who had very similar features.
This song shows the true talent in 38 specials. To be one of the greatest southern rock bands early on and to turn out a song this deep means something.
The further we get from the music of this era, the more I realize how lucky I was to grow up in the 80’s. There are songs like this one that are just flawless.
When I was backstage at Grand Funk concert about 6 years ago I was ushering at, the band greeted us in area and wished us well for night. No idea in the world that was Max Karl who was gracious with us, longer hair, shades etc. if I would have no I would have shook his hand and said job well done on this song. Still my favorite 80’s song.
I was born in 96 and I'm 24 yrs today and I love these type of music and my father was born in 62 and he knows all these song very well.He passed away in 2014 which is 6 yrs ago and every time I hear these songs it just brings back a lot of memories of him I miss him so much.RIP JOHNNIE BOYSIE LOGAN 28-04 -1962 -12-07-2014
I was born in 1961....like your father....when i turned on a radio growing up, i was never disappointed. It's you and young people coming up that have the power to bring back songs and music that has meaning. Best of luck to you and your generation in the pursuit of change.... 🙏
I got this song on an 80s multi artist cassette tape when I was 10 in 1994 (80s greatest rock hits vol 5, from the heart). No real point to that other than to say you don't have to be Gen X to have done that
I remember when I worked a summer job at moms real estate office. As she sips on her coffee while turning her rolodex, the entire office is listening to this masterpiece. RIP mama February 2022. 🙏
Sometimes you don't realize just how good music was back in the day until you hear it again years and years later!! That's why I'm here heard this on the radio and it's been on repeat every since!!

Totally agree and a story you can understand. 💫💫hey I am 66 love these oldies 🎤🎺🪗🎹❤️✌🏼
Bingo 🤙
I absolutely love this song, nothing beats the 80's real music

Love my generation of music it's so now
This is a perfect song. Perfect voice and perfect lead guitar. Love that tone.
These guys sing with such passion. Still love this song '2023. 🎵 Love the smiles❣️
This is strictly a man singing from the heart. Good music and great voices.
one of the great light rock songs of all time
I'm still bummed a year later I missed seeing them at the state fair!!!!😢😢😢
only one original left in the band
Real musos, sound engineers, producers came out the 80s!☝️
Brings tears to my eyes for those that didn’t get a second chance
Isn’t it pointless to say “who’s here in 2024..”
This tune will never fade away
It’s so redundant of course people are still here in 2024. They’ll still be here in 2035 if the world is, it irksme when people lead with that. It’s childish.
Amen on that question. All they are doing is to get a bunch of likes that's all.
👍👍
It’s irritating that the question is asked ‘ who’s here …’ so pointless. (Have Noticed it’s below just about every UA-cam Video)

I love this song, I miss the 80's and 90's. Whose listening in May 2024?

Me!!!!
Ken. if it was for real. really sorry for your big loss
I promised you, you'll see her again...
It was.
Thanks for sharing something so special.
So sorry for your loss...the pain of earthly separation. Love never dies and one day you will be reunited.
The 80s never gets Old 💕 classic
The '80s was just a decade that we will never go back to the literal years of the '80s, but the music from back than will never die is what you mean, and if you do; I agree.
Hi Anamaria,hope you’re okay ?
One of the best emotional songs ever heard!!!!!!!!!! Unbelieveable......!!!!!!! My favourite song for eternity.......38 Special, thank's forever!!!!!!!!!!
I listen to it first time on my way to school in my mom's car when I was in 9th grade. My mom remembered this, she thought Corey Hart sang this. That song got me real good bursting into tears. I still feel sad for Chester Bennington, that's why I am here. They play this in Publix too and I worked there as a bagger.
Back when music still sounded good. Who’s here in 2021?
Edit: and still here in 2022
I agree. I remember a great time when it took talent to be a recording artist.
The music is so beautiful - tight and harmonious
me always
i love this song 🎵❤
Always here..Always Listening
Max Carl just nailed it with his emotion in his vocals. Perfection!
Yes he did!! That's what makes the song so great because he sang it right from his soul!!
The lead singer has such broad prominent facial features, he reminds me of this family of Mormons that I knew back in the late 90's who had very similar features.
Yes I totally agree with you!
Who is still listening November 21,2024?
Me William ! 🇦🇺

We’re all listening. Stop asking obvious questions for easy likes. Signed: Grumpy Old Man from the 80’s.
December 4th, 2024 - oh to go back in time ❤ we had the absolute best of so much, ❤❤
Great song's never die, 2024☘️!
This song shows the true talent in 38 specials. To be one of the greatest southern rock bands early on and to turn out a song this deep means something.
Someone create a time machine so we can go back to the 80s.

I will pay the electric bill !!
Your soooooooo right right right
Beautiful song and melody. The 80's really had some of the best ballads of all time.
Shane Anthony 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏 from you! Best Time the 80s music
Don't forget Hands to Heaven by Breathe,1988.

Shane Anthony lol the 80s was pretty much only ballads 😂
Some songs just pull on your heart strings....this is that song.
This one has to be one of my favorite songs. Until this day, I keep playing it over and over, and I never get tired of it. ❤ THE 80S!
Hi daisykane, I want to dedicate that song to you. I love that song, too. ❤😊
@@CarlosRamos-sn8cb Thank you!😊
@@daisykane749 de nada preciosa tienes fbk do you have fbk
The further we get from the music of this era, the more I realize how lucky I was to grow up in the 80’s. There are songs like this one that are just flawless.
They don't write em like this anymore. Helped me through a really bad time in 1987. Thanks guys... God bless...
Ayy, God bless you too!
May God bless you more
p.s. I got the Greg Kihn reference
Awesome song. I never get tired of hearing it. I play it over and over ❤️
Song didn't come out until 1989.
All these years later Max Carl sounds just as good. Unbelievable at 72 years old. Just saw Grand Funk Railroad last night. Excellent.
same age as me still love this music!
You have a good taste in music and so did daddy 👌
He's out there looking after you...Listen..........You can hear if you listen to your heart....
I was born in 1961....like your father....when i turned on a radio growing up, i was never disappointed. It's you and young people coming up that have the power to bring back songs and music that has meaning.
Best of luck to you and your generation in the pursuit of change.... 🙏
I’m truly sorry for your loss. Sounds like you two were close.
Honor him each day with the way you choose to live your life.
You will be together again someday...
This is REAL music! when Love was pure.
Uri Andropov you are so right my friend unlike some of the garbage of today's music
Raymond Sanchez Old school music is the best. The musicians were real, the lyrics had meaning, and you felt the love.
Raymond Sanchez Thank you!
harem and
Uri Andropov AMEn!
That's real music 🎶 a song with a feelings
I still remember buying their album on cassette - I was 15 at the time and played it over and over in my Walkman on the way to school and back.
I bought the CD 3 years ago and have enjoyed it since. Meanwhile I want to buy the album Bone Against Steel that came afterwards.
I got this song on an 80s multi artist cassette tape when I was 10 in 1994 (80s greatest rock hits vol 5, from the heart).
No real point to that other than to say you don't have to be Gen X to have done that
So nice to hear this ballad 30+ years later. Beautiful doesn't begin to describe it.
Men you are a good music listener. The 80 is the real life.what about endless summer night by Richard marx.also Fleetwood mac
I didn't know this was 38 Special song. Beautiful. Still Sounds Great in 2024
I remember when I worked a summer job at moms real estate office. As she sips on her coffee while turning her rolodex, the entire office is listening to this masterpiece. RIP mama February 2022. 🙏
I’m sorry for loss. I hope you’re doing ok.
What a great memory!! Sorry ❤️ for your loss!! God Bless
🙏🏽
🙏
What year did you work this summer job ?
Sometimes you don't realize just how good music was back in the day until you hear it again years and years later!! That's why I'm here heard this on the radio and it's been on repeat every since!!
Hello,how are you doing?
Same here. I was sitting at an IHOP yesterday and I had heard this song while I was waiting for my food to arrive. I had forgotten about this song. Glad we’re reunited!!
I do....can't listen to much of any kind of today's music....country, or rock.
