I spent 16 days (3500 miles) touring Europe last year on mine. A previously injured knee was the only discomfort I had, and that's not down to the bike. It's a big beast that eats miles, and 130 mph on the autobahn fully loaded with me, tank bag, panniers and top box was no issue. I found the hairpins on the Stelvio a bit of a handful due to the weight but got the hang of it. 12 year old bike with 18000 miles, and it's as good as new.
I'll be doing a tour across Europe this year on it. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be uploading a lot of videos of the trip so keep an eye out for that
Great stuff. Your absolutely right it is overlooked, i had been looking at honda st1300 and yamaha fjr. Didn't give this bike a look until i saw a video saying is this the best tourer, watched that and now hooked. Its a great looking bike especially sat next to a pan european😂 and there so much more modern looking compared to the pan. There also great value for money, found a 2010 with 24,000 miles for £3500 with luggage, you cannot go far wrong really. I will certainly be riding one nxt season forsure.
HA! See my post on your, "HATE", video. I find it difficult to go more than an hour without taking a break. The riding position puts my butt bones hard into the seat. Here in USA, the biggest complaint is the seat. I wonder if the GTR has a different seat? Coming from cruisers, the riding position is hard to get used to, but I am determined. One of us is going to have to get used to the other. BIG plus, I don't get cut off on this bike. People see me. Got cut off on my LOUD Harley all time. Far as I know, the only faster true touring bike is the BMW K1600 which is reportedly unstable at high speeds and passing trucks, which nullifies it, IMO. LOVE my 2 Brothers carbon fiber exhaust. Sounds amazing. Sport bike riders think it's heavy. Compared to my ex-Harley and Goldwings, it's light. Here's to one of the most over-looked bikes. Cheers!
Great video mate. I would really love and appreciate if Kawa would make a new bike like this one. Really. Shaft and a 1400cc engine. Would be very nice. :)
The 1400 Kawasaki is a beast. My 1500 Suzuki is not capable of keeping up with them. I am glad to see you have the same idiot drivers on your side of pound as well. Worried we were keeping them all here.
Great bikes. I came from zzr 1400 x3 over 10 year period. Chopped it in for a gtr 1400 gen 2. Absolutely love it.
They're brilliant, I just got back from a ride to Cornwall and back again in 24 hours. Video going up tomorrow

I was the same as you, now I've got this bike I absolutely love it and it looks modern still compared to its competitors of the same age
