    Best bus I ever drove until 1998 when I retired from Command bus . It was like a race car compared to the 1960's we were driving lol

      That bus actually sounds like crap. Runs quite rough.

    What a surprise to see this event being filmed. I was there visiting from Australia that day. I had with me pictorial books of American Buses operating Downunder for Ansett Pioneer. MCI's, GMC's, Eagles (Greyhound Australia had these), Aussie built Dennings & Austral Tourmasters. First coach I ever drove here in Australia was a RHD MCI MC8 with 4spd stick.
    Thanks for posting this video for all to see and remember that great day.

    So the tailpipe is at the bottom? That's rare.

    Where did this take place, NY right? How come I didn't hear about this.. I wish Suffolk Transit on Long Island kept some of their old 1987 and 1991 Gillig Phantoms around as well as their 1993 Flxible's instead of junking all of them

    Why did city bus always have the engine in the back

    • @Mahees_230
      @Mahees_230 6 років тому +1

      Because it leaves more space inside for the passengers, the driver, and engine access is easier.
