- From November 11, 1970, Cash remembers Armistice Day with an impassioned, poetry-riddled version of Bob Dylan's immortal "Blowin' In The Wind." I'm not sure if it's weird in a powerful way, or powerful in a weird way, but you'll either love it or you'll hate it.
I love Johnny's spirit. He was a beautiful soul and an artist. One of the greatest storytellers ever.
What a powerful performance ... I've always loved this song sung by Bob Dylan and Joan Baez. This version is so moving and powerful. Johnny Cash had always a way to make songs his own - amazing.
Johnny sang with such ease. You'd tell that he looks like he never even struggled to make it sound good. Very natural gift, amazing voice .
Such a great performance! I always enjoy listen to Johnny Cash! Thanks for uploading!
také velmi krásné a smutné
píseň naší generace
I respect this, and I love Johnny his warm low voice!
omg such a great voice!
A true anti-war statement from the man in black. Thank you for posting this.
Love listening to johnny cash& June carter.
Terrifyingly, dramatically relevant . Thanks Johnny for still being here, in this strange, torn world.
what a voice... ♥
great man, people can learn so much from somebody with a stature & mindset such as Cash's. Powerful yet open-minded, not many more around. Most with power nowadays abuse it. Long live the legacy of J.R. Cash
This is awesome, johnny cash singing dylan...AMAZING
Fntastica voz, profunda, muy varonil, un gran interprete; pena que ya no esta non nosotros.Gracias Johnny por tu arte! por las bellas notas country!
the background is fab. I love it.
The value of a man comes from what he can give, not from what he can take or acquire. If only people could own that in their hearts and mind, maybe the world would truly change.
Speechless beneath the master of lyrics, human feelings, fantastic songs, prisoner because life got too tough, writer of the true stories of normal peoples lifes. Johnny, thanks for all the songs I enjoyed since ten years of age. When I die eventually, the cantor will play, At my door the leafves are faling, A cold wild wind will come !!!
great song RIP Jhonny Cash you will be mist ....... may your voice carry on and your songs heard by meny
Leslie West does the most emotional version Ive ever heard. Its on youtube. Great accoustic and vocal. But of course Johnny Cash aces the song as well. West, Cash, & Cooke. 3 of the Best.
Johnny Cash war wirklich einer der größten !! Ganz besonders in diesem Lied stellt er das unter Beweis ! So berührend hat bisher keiner dieses Lied performt !!!
beautiful words
I am one of those who will love it.
very true it gets you in the heart
Johnny Cash = People's Champ!
Wow… j'en reste sans voix...
Poetic
And besides it’s the most moving rendition I ever heard !
@DazzerDubai I couldn't agree more. Whatever is wrong with us as a species runs mighty deep. That we have produced human beings of such high quality as Cash is a mitigating factor in our defense, not a framework for it.
If i had the possibility to make one singer imortal would be him
so powerfull, and beutifull
i so wish that man would take heed from words such as this
"We don't see things the way they are, we see things the way we are..."
Cash and Dylan are both masters. They are beyond simple genre definition.
jonny cash is a legend
damn, I heard johnny sing a lot of powerful lyrics but this shit gives me goosebumps.
awesome, brilliant and true.
horrible, frightening but true.
He's been so great
What a combination!
Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and a song of peace
love you Johny
I was a month old when this aired -- takin' it easy on the other side Johnny?
so powerful
r.i.p from and actually 14 year old young fan, too bad not so many kids these days listen to the lyrics of songs :/
THIS IS HIS VOICE AND NOT AN AI !!!!!!!! WONDERFUL!
He was/is the man
johnny cash had so much pressence!
he was a great singer/great speaker/great songwriter(i know this is a cover but when he wrote he was better than dylon)
johnny cash such a big dark charactor yet full of light an realness
r.i.p johnny cash!
what the hell are you on about? Johnny Cash has an incredible voice, and plays guitar perfectly for the sort of music he plays.
respect!
What a superb song, I really can not compare it to the Bob Dylan version they both are so different,
RIP Johnny. At last you have seen the end of war.
i think this is atleast one of the best versions
So much more powerful now. We are all chasing the wind criplly, to get the answer. Maybe we can catch it if, we stop been such prix and allow life.
Yep, better days. Better men.
Dylan is amazing. This is fucking awsome. I can't choose my favourite version.
Your guys are CLOSE.....
Johnny Cash was 'one of us' REAL people could relate to him.
May he rest in peace.
♫♪ The answer is blowin' in the wind ♫♪
Elvis is the best singer, Dylan is the best poet and Cash is the best friend.
johnny and bob--brothers under the skin
@jwdundon Think that was his gift. Others like Elvis had their gift in singing while others like Dylan had their gift in writing some of the most amazing songs; but Cash had the ability to never forget from where he came and to convey that in his music-even when he covered someone else's work.
war can only end if everyone thinks alike; shares the same ideals, willing to look past our differences, destroy all greed and hatred, which is impossible. in order to destroy all hatered, you need to destroy all evil. and only God can do this. peace will come on 12/21/12
I wasn't expecting this but it works its weird but really powerful the kind of thing Dylan himself would do in concert radically alter his songs. Its a beautiful poem did he come up with that or is it pre existing?
His voice is so deep
@twoethphary Wow, I don't know what that means, but I'm going to use it!
@abargle The thing that gives me hope is that not all human societies even have a concept of war. We have to believe we can end war, but that means ending the economic system that is driven entirely by greed.
if God had a voice...that would be Johnny's!!
This is genius
Democracy is the only system of government that accepts that people have differences. This is why all those who genuinely seek peace must always support democracy, however unsatisfactory it sometimes proves.
@DazzerDubai World peace will only be achieved when power of love comes over the love of power - Jimi Hendrix
@DazzerDubai as soon as we recognize that life is free to live on our own personal & comun values that we have, and those who struggle for power, lidership & recognition, we leave them alone, soon or later life will be the way it's meant to be, LIFE, not death. As long as we follow the wrong liders, this will not happen, but the day we leave them alone, their time will be over.
your wrong, dragon... for the songs he does and the way he does them they all seem great..
O MY LORD
bob dylan wrote this song it is credited to him on the original single of 1963,many many artists re recorded this notibly stevie wonder uk chart posistion 36
I KNOW BOTH DYLAN AND CASCH CARRIER AND MUSIC.
THERE ARE NO GENIOUS BETTER THAN ANOTGHER GENIOUS.
DYLAN ALSO SANG CASH'S SONGS, BECAUSE THEY RESPECTED EACH OTHERS. BUT OF THE TWO I PREFER LISTENING MORE JOHNNY CASH BECAUSE HIS VOICE IS SO DEEP AND SMOOTH AND WARM. AND, I AM A STRAIGH GUY. ; )
why do you add this in the end, you could be a woman, a kid, whaterver !
@DazzerDubai u know what they say - until the power of love wins over the love of power there shall be no peace
"I'm not sure if it's weird in a powerful way, or powerful in a weird way" @abargle yes, both. :-)
fuck, how can someone dislike this?
@MrBluey1 u got that dam right
Oh Yeah
this is just incredible gave me the Willy's
i understand the concept of free will, and its this free will that causes religion to conflict. people to greed and i understand that god judges us by who we are and what we do in life. i also understand this in a way in which i have no slaves, enemies and this is what i made of my life. but was hell not created to put fear into peoples lives? this same fear that makes religions argue? i'm not religious, but respect to those who are!!! but this is the way i see it, time will change.
@MrBluey1 Word.
War isn't bad. But war is often waged wrongly. War should only be fought for freedom, for survival.
@artistb15 haha ofc from above he cames and he say no more war ha :D
war, war never changes.
Sehr beeindruckende Version. Aber auch empfehlenswert: Neil Young mit Crazy Horse. Und natürlich alle Dylan-Versionen...
for some reason i want to hear johnny cash sing this a little more uptempo.
There were 9 people who slipped and hit the dislike button.
@KerouacandRimbaud try telling that to the USMC
@AnniekeM peter paul and mary nailed it
@DazzerDubai I am afraid i have to agree :-(
Yes, war will always continue, no matter what. The only way it will stop is for Christ to return for his church.
A dove with claws
Sorry, did'nt mean to insult all Americans.God bless Johnny Cash.
@SmashBrosFan19 let me just say that your right about dylan being a genius but i feel that cash has bob beat on this, thats just my opinion.
Solomon, King David's son wrote these words in Ecclesiastes.
@SmashBrosFan19 im sorry a mistake

@morphybum Democracy may be only a few steps removed from anarchy, But at least it's not as loud.
@46goombas You are right that peace on earth would be great, and that it probably won't happen is right. But there will be a time that it will happen, and that's when Jesus Christ returns. :)
I reckon that'll be like five stops.
@surfstomp
Whats your beef?
Does anyone know if Johnny Cash came up with this poetry, or was it written by anyone else?
