- When I used to build fence by myself I built these gate jacks to help me out. Today I wanted to show you how you can build these and hang gates by yourself.

Thanks for the idea. I had to remove a ambulance module off a frame and used your gate jack with a plate mod to jack the module high enough to roll the frame out from underneath. Thanks again these are going to be great for service body installs and connex leveling as well.
I've built tripods with cable winches and strap-on hanging brackets with custom binders for the adjustment part, but this is a new one on me. I've ordered a couple of jacks so this will be my third method of hanging gates. Here are my tweaks to your design: 1) Set the jack off center to the floor plate (towards the rear) so the center of gravity is more in the middle of the floor plate. That will help with stability. 2) Make the floor plate out of three pieces of tubing with bottom feet so you have three points contacting the ground. That way it wont' rock on uneven ground. Two will go towards the front (under the gate) and one shorter one towards the back. 3) Cut the floor plate off that came with the jack. It just adds weight. 4) Weld three or so 1/4" round bars on top of and across the horizontal square tubing and eliminate the angle iron. This will keep the gate from slipping off. I enjoy your videos!
Post some 360 pictures of the gate jacks awesome build thanks for sharing
Definitely making some. Great idea
This is huge… thank you
I would cut the crank arms off and weld a bit on the stub left over so I could use a cordless impact to raise and lower the jacks 😉 great Idea for sure. I will be making a set of these this weekend. God bless
Weld a NUT ... not a bit
@@jekjr909 He said bit I think so you could just walk up with an impact and chuck it. I'm thinking the ones that take the hex shanks. Not a tire one.
We always use 4 Jack stands and 2 pieces of pipe to level gates but I like these alot
Genius!
I like them Austin. I’m gone build me some. Great video!!!
These jacks could come in handy for multiple jobs around the farm or shop.
Great video
Can you make a vid of which kinds of boots you recommend for welding
I use a frames I built out of 1” square with chain hanging. A lot cheaper but you got a decent idea there.
Those are awesome I built a similarity deal with a farm jack for pulling out poles with concrete when my dad and I do fence repair work. Works great. Any more test practice reviews for further testing coming up soon? Keep your videos coming very helpful.
Heck yeah man! Hey maybe you can build some mud boards been wanting to see that done! Have a blessed day
are you going to make a part 2 on the welding test? cuz’ i was left with alot of questions! thanks man great video like always!!
Thanks Austin. Stop catching stuff on fire. Lol.
Can I get a side view and demo on the angle iron. I was thinking about making it with a see-saw type hindge to level the gate in the saddle if the base is on a incline.
Have you thought about using two cameras so you can get a different angle? I think it would help you when you are explaining the different parts of a job.
Austin great video. where did you get the jacks?
I like your UA-cam videos thanks for doing them. I’ve got a question how long does the evaluation cold cut saw last cutting old oil field pipe? Is it worth getting and does it save time and money compared to abrasive blade? Thanks
How do you hang a gate with parallel pickets using your jacks?
Austin how long is the 2” square tube?
Привет! 🤠
I have a 69 red like the one sitting there n ur shop. What year is that one?
I bought instruction from woodprix and I build it very very cheap.
I heard very good opinions about the Woodglut plans.
