I can not thank you enough for this incredible DIY video. I could not have done my project with out it, it gave me the confidence to to dive in and do it. I painted my dash hydro blue to match the body color paint on my gladiator. Wish I could post photos for you to see. And for those tricky screws under the grab handle. I found that the socket that comes with the Jeep and a philips bit worked great. Thanks for the reminder of reconnecting the air bag. I almost forgot. And you are right it is less scary the next time you take it apart. I forgot that one screw on the top dash and had to take it back apart. It was scary reconnecting the auxiliary battery…. I love Mojito, wish they still had it. The Red looks soooo much better with Mojito! Good choice. Thanks again.
Remember folks, if you live in a colder climate be sure you have your interior warm before trying to remove plastic pieces. In the cold they will become more brittle and prone to cracking and breaking. Great video you guys!
Great video. Thanks. To anyone attempting this, I'd recommend removing the grab handle. Simply remove the outward bolt cover with a panel tool, it pulls straight out (the inside bolt is already exposed by removing the climate control).
I love the way you explain each steps and first told people you were not experts but did your research. And you Mrs Lady have a very soothing voice! I own a 2017 JK, I consider switching over to the JL, waiting for the 2019 to come out so I can get a better deal on the 2018, who knows, might even end up with a 2019. I have a Mojito JL myself. You can't drive it anywhere without getting complimented, the color is fantastic. I THINK it is exclusive to the '18 models though. Could be wrong. Seems a shame.
Thanks, I was looking for other information (replacing the light sensor on the dash top), but your video showing the *correct* way to disconnect both batteries was unexpectedly helpful! I was like, WHY is this still going, even though I pulled everything off the negative terminal. What a wacky config.

Thanks so much for an easy-to-follow video. I was nervous about the airbag, but this video helped me understand how to do this. Took me about two hours to replace my dash. Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for doing this great video. I swapped my red rubicon dash panels for the black "leather" with red stitching panels for the Gladiator last night and it couldn't have gone any easier thanks to the guidance from your video. Start to finish (not including the 30 minute wait time on the battery) it was about an hours worth of work. Like others have mentioned, I think it definitely helped having everything warm -- it was ~80F in East Tennessee yesterday.

The red dash is not my style, and I didn't think it went well with the blue (looked like Superman). The darker dash leaves the only red accents being the red stitching, looks more subtle and a lot better. This video was very helpful and gave me a heads up on what to expect with the clips. Looks good. Another tip may be to use a ratcheting wrench with the socket to get behind the grab handle. There's a Durango brake install video where the tech uses this technique due to limited space for a ratchet.
Thank you for sharing how to take the dash apart. I like the red with the green you have on the Jeep. I will use your suggestions with my 67 system to run wires behind the dash.

The Mojito, Punk’n, and Hella Yellow got the gray dash instead of the red. We were told ours would come red but were sad when we picked it up and it didn’t have it.
Channel locks. Not vise grips. And a 90 degree philips? How about put a ratchet on the socket? Lol. Good job though. Video helped alot. Got a big thumbs up from me!
This was the best video I came across. I’m trying to just replace my a/c vent bezels. I have the gray oem ones on my Jeep Gladiator and wanting to put 4 orange bezels from a Mojave. Any tips would be appreciated
If I remember correctly you just follow these steps to remove the dash panels and you will be able to pop the vents out from the back side of the panels.
This was a super awesome video! You guys make a great team and are very patient. And super informative. How hard was it to find all the clips? And you should paint the grey ones to match the JEEP body color then put them back in
i got same jeep , took my panels and had them painted same color as the green , ithink it looks much better that way , but each to their own. great video tho
Nice informative video , I haven’t seen one taking the dash apart to swap the panels out yet . I’m also curious where you picked up the red panels from and how much you paid for them . We make most off the IP “ instrument panel “ parts at my work and then ship them down to Toledo for final assembly before they go to the Jeep plant. But you wouldn’t believe the scrap bins full of all the different color and wrapped option panels I’ve seen. Also It does make it nice like when I get my JL one of the glove box hinge tabs was busted and the dealership said it would take a week to get a replacement I told them not to worry about it and went over to to the IR welder that welds the two half’s together and made my own when the line was on break ... perks of being in maintenance I guess 👍🏻 but I like the red but I agree with some off the other comments that a semi-flat mojito panel would look bad ass !!!
Jason Meier - A Mojito dash would definitely look bad ass! No doubt. But I wanted more contrast. It’s incredible how the red stitching and detailing pops out now that the red dash is in. James and I got the part wholesale through his family dealership.
Great job on the video you Guy's! Super Helpful!!! I couldn't find one of the blue plastic dash clips on the end of the leather dash pad. Do you happen to have a mopar part no. for those clips?

Always glad to help!
Looks good. Another tip may be to use a ratcheting wrench with the socket to get behind the grab handle. There's a Durango brake install video where the tech uses this technique due to limited space for a ratchet.
Gav Details thanks man!
Gav Details - Thanks for the tip!!!
Thank you for sharing how to take the dash apart. I like the red with the green you have on the Jeep. I will use your suggestions with my 67 system to run wires behind the dash.
Thank you for this awesome video. Funny thing is I watched it to change the Rubicon Red panels out, to those grey panels - you just removed. The Red does not look good in the Tuscadero.
Oh, I’m surprised they would put the red dash in Tuscadero. I would definitely change that as well.
Nice video. I think the red dash with the Mojito is perfect! About to put the proper Overland dash panels in my JT Overland (came originally with cloth interior), and your walk through will be helpful. Want to swing over to Elmhurst and help. LOL! :D
Kellie Anton 😜👍 glad we could help! Let us know if you have any questions!
Grest video. Easy to follow and super detailed.
Glad we could help!
I wish you could get the dash panel in Mojito! Or which ever color you prefer. I’m considering getting one and having it painted....no such thing as too much Mojito!....love my Mojito! JLUR
Yeah, we considered painting our Mojito but we really like the satin finish on the red.
Jeep should have made the dash colors an option.
Agreed Satin Mojito! would be sweet and probably a one off until everyone saw it then it would be the craze...love the T-Rex
rambokd yeah that would be cool! And thanks, we made the T-Rex!
I think you guys did a great job 💯
Thank you!
Great instruction... will definitely be watching this in the future again... will help when we wrap the wife’s dash... but I am confused...y is ur dash grey to start????
The Mojito, Punk’n, and Hella Yellow got the gray dash instead of the red. We were told ours would come red but were sad when we picked it up and it didn’t have it.
Really?!!? This is new to me... well glad u finally got what u wanted in...
JL LIFE OFFROAD yeah apparently Jeep must have thought it clashed.
Thank you!!! Made this so easy.
Glad we could help!
Great video. I dunno if I wanna go thru that pain, yet. Lol.
Channel locks. Not vise grips. And a 90 degree philips? How about put a ratchet on the socket? Lol. Good job though. Video helped alot. Got a big thumbs up from me!
Thank you for the step by step instructions.
Brent Thomas no problem! Glad to help!
Thank you. So helpful.
Awesome video! will definitely help me out in the future. Thanks!
Caden Blazek glad we could help!
And you should paint the grey ones to match the JEEP body color then put them back in
Thanks! We have seen people paint them Mojito but we feel like it’s too much green then.
Love the Red good job guys.
Bobby Morgan thanks!
i got same jeep , took my panels and had them painted same color as the green , ithink it looks much better that way , but each to their own. great video tho
I have a Mojito Rubicon JL as well. I love the look of this dash!! Can you list the Mopar part numbers?
Dreadly_Locs thanks! The part numbers are in the video description 👍
Well done! You guys make a great team!
Thank you!
Awesome work!!
Point Break Sliders - Thanks so much!
Great job on the video you Guy's! Super Helpful!!! I couldn't find one of the blue plastic dash clips on the end of the leather dash pad. Do you happen to have a mopar part no. for those clips?
mtrctylarry I have the link in the video description to the clips.
Great video, well done! Made it look easy.
operatorjjbiv thank you!
The red is better. I think Jeep should have done the red in all the Rubi’s. I don’t think it clashes with all the red dash accents and red stitching 👍
MACjeeps we obviously agree!
My Punk'n Orange Rubi, the red dash would look awful so I'm glad they put the Grey Dash. Same with Nacho or Yellow. I'm repainting my dash to be Punk'n :)
Brendan that will look great with a Punk’n dash!
Wheeew. Super cool! Congrats
Thanks for the write up…however I was able to do it without removing the radio…any reason for that?
It doesn’t necessarily need to be removed, it’s more so that we didn’t damage the screen during the process.
Can you add a video of removing the center console usb assembly?
I have never removed that but I can definitely take a look and see if I can do a quick video.
@@shockerracing That would be awesome actually!
Looks great, good job
Jimmy Amaya thank you!
Jimmy Amaya - Thanks!
when your garage is so big, it has a christmas tree. :p Great video as always guys, You are a huge help
Lol, thanks! Always glad to help!
great thorough video. well done.
Thanks!
Nice video, but did you guys forget to reconnect the airbag? Didn't see it being reconnected at the end.
Lol, good catch! I didn’t realize I missed it until I was editing the video!
@@shockerracing glad you guys got to it, not a good thing to omit to reconnect! 😊 Have a happy Thanksgiving!
@@salttrader4113 thank you, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your fam!
I would have done this too. I like the red much better.
MS 3104 we are loving it!
MS 3104 - Awesome!!!
Used my fingers to pop the AC panel off no tools needed for me on that end I was worried it would be harder amd didn't want scratches on panel
Did you replugged the yellow plug for the airbag again?
Miguel Mena-Torres yes, I forgot to record it. That’s why I put a note on the video about it. 😉
Oh ok it was just FYI
Miguel Mena-Torres always good to make sure! I appreciate it and thank for paying attention!
Do you guys have any videos on how to replace the dome light switch? (The little knobs to the left of the steering wheel) I was hoping to see how to pull that off on this video but it seems like you did everything but that one. The front of mine snapped off so I got a replacement from eBay but I have no clue how to go about getting the current one out.
Nice. I love the red!
You guys talked me out of it. 😂 🤣
Jim D lol!
Can i install it on my sport with the small screen ??
Abdullah Andejani yeah, I don’t believe the screen size matters.
@@shockerracing Thank you
i also have a mojito jl but i just dont think green and red go together.
Christmas colours. I think they do but its all personal taste :) I think matching with Mojito would look better but still looks good
Lol there whole thing is green and red. Are you new here?
🇮🇹rosso è molto più bello, complimenti per questo video, grazie di averlo condiviso 🦈
🇬🇧 red is much nicer, congratulations for this video, thanks for sharing it 🦈
🇮🇹🦈🇮🇹
Now i know how to steal jeep radios, thanks i was looking for a new job but now i dont need one lol
jim bob - 🤣🤣🤣
A Mojito color match would be awesome
Plant-Based MD some people have done the Mojito Dash but we thought it was too much green.
Thats true, plus the red accents you are using with the Mojito color looks awesome.. @@shockerracing
I would like my red one out. Do you do any installs for the public? How much would you charge?
Hey anyway to remove the vents ? With out all this dropped something in my vent
